I didn't like Interstellar, to me it was Nolan's worst film since The Prestige which is really disappointing considering I expected something as good as Inception.
Hah. The Prestige is one of Nolan's best pieces of film.

Yeah I consider Memento Nolan's masterpiece but The Prestige isn't far behind.

I gotta give it to Inception. Not just for the hype, but I genuinely loved the story between Cobb/Mal and Cilian's character/his character's father.

Inception, Memento and Interstellar are probably my favorite Nolan films. And yeah i also think Rises has the best dialogue.

It's hard for me to say whether TDK or TDKR had better dialogue, as both had tons of great, memorable lines.

One thing I'll say is that this trilogy features some of the best villain monologues in the CBM genre. For a genre trope that can easily be so hammy and cliched, the villain speeches are the scenes in this trilogy I could watch over and over.

It was about equal with BB in dialogue.

Both had some cheesy lines (as much as I like BB that's just the truth), but with BB it was more expected because the screenplay was written by Goyer. Rises on the other hand was written by the same people who wrote TDK (the Nolan bros), so I have no clue how so many "Goyerisms" got in there.

The dialouge in TDKR was alot better than Interstellar anyway.

:funny: Goyer :funny:

TDK and TDKR are both better than BB in terms of dialogue. I liked more of the lines in TDKR than TDK. TDKR has better dialogue.

Anyone else feel like TDKR has the best dialogue of all three films?

Hell no, I think it has the worst. Aside from some of Bane's lines, those you can understand, there's not much else I think is really stand out about the dialogue. Begins and Knight had better dialogue, even Goyer's cheesiness in Begins helped make Ra's more quotable than Bane, Talia, Catwoman, and Blake-Robin combined.

I'm not sure I can decide between TDK And TDKR as far as best dialogue. But, despite solid lines in it, Begins is definitely the weakest in that regard.

Now you're just talking crazy.

For anyone into stuff like this:

The guy did similar ones for RoboCop and BTTF Trilogy. It's pretty darn cool, even if some things are arguably a stretch.

Bookmarked that for later read. Looks interesting.

As for dialogue, I think TDK probably edges out TDKR by a hair in the dialogue section. The only bad line that jumps out to me is the whole clean slate mumbo-jumbo. Everything else was pretty solid in my books.

This is true actually. I guess the only thing it was lacking was the equivalent to a repetitive word like fear to make it really stand out. It's in that regard it edges out BB's dialogue for me.

They may both be equally "cheesy" but....

This isn't a car >>>>> Can you drive stick?

"The TDKT jumped the shark when Batman didn't get shot, hacked apart etc on his first night out. Hyperrealism never had a chance, and now it is lost like tears in the rain."

Am I being too harsh here, or does anyone else find comments like this absolutely stupid? No offense to the user who made it. Batman spent years getting trained by ninjas in the Himalayas in stealth, fighting, and theatricality, and it was a jump the shark moment that he didn't get shot on his first night?

Oy vey! I am half hoping he was kidding.

The whole "realism" thing is taken way too literally by some fans. Wasn't it Nolan who said he wanted "cinematic realism"? I always took that as every action has a reaction, and the actions of the characters had consequences. Nolan's Batman films have tons of fantastical and implausible moments in them, because it's freaking Batman!

I don't know, Joker. Maybe the guy was being facetious.

As for Snyder I think he's only got one bad film on his resume (Sucker Punk), other than that I've either liked or love his films. Not all directors are perfect, even Nolan gave us an incredibly dull film with Interstellar.

Interstellar was really boring. I hope Nolan isn't becoming like Peter Jackson in that he starts going overboard with story bloat. TDKR and Interstellar were both way too long and could have used some restraint and good editing.

Unless I'm mistaken, I think Victorian is a fan of the trilogy. I'm thinking that was a sarcastic comment. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, Nolan has said multiple times that his use of the word "realism" never meant to convey ACTUAL realism, and that the films are still fantastical.

Question for both JackWhite and Joker...have you guys seen The Fire Rises documentary on the TDKT Ultimate Collector's Edition set? That's all covered in there. Definite must-watch if you're a fan of the trilogy.

Definitely TDK. That movie has tons of quotable material. TDKR, not so much... the best line in that movie was "When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die," which in turn was ruined when Bale growled out that silly "Tehl meh whar teh triggah ish... then yeh haf mah permisshun to die."

Yeah, that's where I get my Nolan quote from. I'm offended actually, Batlobster. Of course I double, hell triple dipped, and bought the last boxset! :oldrazz:
