Did i? No.
And I didn't say that you did....I was reminding you not to it in the future, because at the moment you are getting a little exciteable in your posting and I don't want you to go over board.

Why not? I thought this wasn't Hitler territory right?
Whenever someone tries to compare the staff on here trying to maintain civility to the actions of mass murdering baby killing rapists.....I shake my head, take a deep breath, and remember what I am dealing with before I continue.

Why can't someone share their opinion?
Your opinion can be shared....if it is civil and non offensively stated.

Im not saying it's right to call someone a ****e, or be insanely rude about it. But i should have the right to say that a post or a gif is ignorant, which could lead to a realistic discussion.
No, you do not have that right. Calling what someone posts as ignorant is rude. It leads to fights and name calling. If you can't express your dislike of something without going to the lowest route then I suggest you not post your dislike at all.

Or if i think their taste isn't that great because a film that they like has no redeeming qualities,
When you show me the document signed off by all the world's leaders that assign you the designation ARBITER OF THE WORLD'S TASTE...then you can do that. Until then you must post civilly on here.

the fact that we to sugarcoat it or bite our tongue is quite ridiculous. Again, all of this can be said without insulting their culture or whatever, it can be civil and strictly about their taste in movies. It really isn't the end of the world if two people disagree on their taste in movies.
Apparently it is the end of the world to you...because you keep saying that if someone has an opinion you don't agree with...you somehow feel the need to belittle them for it and call them names and call in question their intelligence for it.

I agree, it doesn't automatically make them ignorant fools because they have a different opinion. If you read my posts, i said clearly that Olsen can love Pfeiffer's Catwoman. But to say that she's the only one and it shouldn't be remade, even though Pfeiffer wasn't the first and wasn't that accurate.....yeaaah...it's a bit ignorant.
OR.....it could be that an actress is being interviewed, and out of the blue she is asked about the character Catwoman...and she makes a light hearted quick answer to it....she isn't writing a blog or college thesis on the subject, she isn't even having the time to ponder it and formulate her thoughts into a coherent fully thought out response on a comic book website....she is sitting in a room all day taking thousands of questions from dozens of reporters and then makes a quick lighthearted response to a question about a comic book character.....is it ignorance or is it just a flippant remark not meant to personally offend your sensitive sensabilities?

If someone thinks im ignorant for saying something, or i have bad taste in movies, i should be able to respond and defend my view or taste. Vice versa. This is what i mean by this forum being run by people who dont let people breathe.
And if you have spent any time on here actually reading what I have posted in the past....you would know that I have posted hundreds if not thousands of times....you are allowed to rebut any comment, you are allowed to discuss, debate, and argue any point....AS LONG AS IT I DONE CIVILLY.

Why should i save my energy? Is it because it's not a super nice comment? Do i have to add a little ending to my sentence, each time i say something, like "but it's still their opinion so i can respect that, it's valid enough". That's not something i agree with. If i feel like someone is being ignorant or if their taste is crap because the actual movie is horrendously made and s**ts all over the character just to sell a few tickets, then yeaaah i shouldn't be afraid to express that around here. This forum should be called SugarCoating.

I dont need anyone to agree with me, by the way. I feel fine expressing an opinion without people giving me a pat on the back.

I dont care enough to ask a person why they like that horrible Catwoman movie. If they like it, that tells me everything i need to know.

I bet you're a ton of fun in the workplace during team building activities. :o

What we are when we write a post on a blog or forum is not the best representation of who we are in person, or how we speak to others face to face. I express myself more in writing. In person im actually pretty quiet and polite, respectful. Until somebody says something ignorant. And no, i dont mean Elizabeth Olsen, playful ignorance :hehe:

Then again, a real conversation would have swearing and uncensored opinions. But the rules seem to geared towards 13 year olds. I guess i've been on this forum long enough without major infractions, so ill continue being "respectful". I just wont post here as much, because im getting a little tired of the hype, and what you can or can't do.

Maybe i shouldn't say Hitler C. Lee but it definitely feels like a bunch of old school nuns are running the place.

Meh. I don't like to sugarcoat things, but there's a difference between honesty and obnoxiousness.

This whole convo just feels...extra.

I still love how for this trailer they got voice actors from the show.
Including Efrem Zimbalist jr before his sad passing.

What was your favorite Rises trailer? I unfortunately found both theatrical trailers unexciting. Only the Nokia trailer got any sort of traction with me.

Trailer #3 is my favorite. One of my favorite trailers of all time. I just need to see somebody do a new edit, where some shots here and there are replaced, now that we have all the footage.

You have to speak for yourself there...or at the vey least don't include me in that scenario. I talk/post on here the way I do anywhere. I don't have a separate internet persona.

In person I too am pretty quiet, polite, and respectful....but if someone says something ignorant in my presence...I civilly rebut it or ignore it and move on. I have lived a long life and have encountered many bellicose blowhards who shout their superior opinion to the world....I have better things and better people in life to share my time with than them.
Then again, a real conversation would have swearing and uncensored opinions. But the rules seem to geared towards 13 year olds.
And when you have this "real" conversation with "swearing and uncensored opinions"....are you at yours or a friend's house, at some other basically secure area with no one not in the conversation around, or are you standing in the middle of WalMart, McDonalds, or in a Junior High School? Because, you see, this is a public message board where ANYONE can read it when they log on. If you curse and swear and talk about uncensored opinions in the presence of anyone and everyone in your off line life....well, that is a shame. But here on the Hype...this is public....it isn't you and your best friend in your living room being free to say whatever you want in any way you want. This is a public arena....and even though you may not like it, you are asked to respect that there are people with differing opinions on here...and they are allowed to talk about those opinions without being called ignorant or any other offensive name because they dare express that opinion where you have to read it.
Maybe i shouldn't say Hitler C. Lee but it definitely feels like a bunch of old school nuns are running the place.
I'm old school Southern Baptist....don't think I have ever actually met a nun.....I've been a staff member for about 11 of my 13 years at the Hype....I haven't changed the way I moderate in that time....so it's been run this way for a long time.

Without a doubt my favorite TDKR trailer is...

MTV Awards TDKR Trailer:

[Yt]5rBxL7OPNUo[/MEDIA]

My favorite trailer was whichever one was the first one where Bane said "When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die." Fantastic line.

Conroy really sold his lines and made them sound even cooler here.
The way he said "Why didn't you kill me" could use a bit of pepper.

What was your favorite Rises trailer? I unfortunately found both theatrical trailers unexciting. Only the Nokia trailer got any sort of traction with me.
None, all the trailers looked unimpressive.

I sometimes picture you like this when you freak out in response to someone's "ignorance":

I'm getting some serious "Joker" vibes from that GIF there.

I miss Jack Nicholson. Hasn't been in a movie since 2010. I guess he's retired. :(

That gif reminds me of the BTAS Joker when he has those sunglasses.

Seeing the TDK trilogy in IMAX next Saturday. So excited! Will be probably my 8th or 9th view of each of the movies.
