The Xbox One - Part 3

The Last Guardian isn't canceled. Pretty sure we just had a development update not that long ago. It was delayed mainly because the head of Team Ico left halfway through development, though I do believe he came back as a consultant.

Whatever
That game was announced at TGS 2008, here we are in 2013!
So I should buy a PS paper weight system now, for Sony to release games 10 years from now??!!
Haha, don't make me laugh. TLG, if it is ever released, will be a title on shelves 10 years after being announced. FACT.

Sure PS4 has games in early development by SCE Santa Monica, Naughty Dog and Media Molecule if you want to name that studio and have interest in LBP games, I certainly don't, but in any event, Santa Monica and Naughty Dog likely wont have titles out for the system until 2015 at the earliest, and given Sony's track record, I'm not expecting to see them honestly until sometime in 2016.

Both studios just finished making games for the PS3.

So yeah, I'll buy a PS4 in 2016, like I said, when games are actually on the shelves, the system will likely be cheaper than anyway.

Xbox One, I'm getting this November, it has games for me to enjoy right away, not 10 years from now LOL

It's because we're not allowed to have it. Hue :oldrazz:
Probably right lol.

I think it'll be released later anyway. I may get both one day. Was a lot of fun having a living room multi-XBox & TV setup for co-op or multiplayer games with guests.

Go buy a paperweight if you want, just to play Indy games that can run on the PS1.

Have fun with that! I'm personally not biting for A LONG, LONG Time, I was smart enough in my strategy during the PS3, and plan to keep winning this gen as well being LTTP on PS4.

Xbox One is the only system that has value at launch, and will last for the entire generation.

Microsoft has the games beeyotches!
What's this bit? You put all the effort into writing out a long response and ruin credibility and give away any sense of neutrality with that!

Dude this place isn't like most of the rest of the internet. Most people here are level headed and it's not full of fanboys, Sony or otherwise. You can honestly have decent, fair conversations here (& I'm way in favour of XBox) with guys buying the other consoles. Give it a go. :word:

Oh sorry, I didn't mean to imply I give even the least of ****s about whether or not you buy a PS4 or anything else you're saying. I mainly wanted that to be clarified for any others who may see it.

So. What's you point?
'Any others' should actually give a $h!t, that a title announced at TGS in 2008 is still in development after 5 years, and may come out sometime in the next 10 years?! Really? Wow LOL.

THAT'S AWESOME!

Maybe your message in a bottle will actually find someone to actually give ****, enjoy that! LOL

An entire studio does not work an a game up until launch. As teams finish their part of making a game, they move on to the next project. During the QA phase of game developement, the majority of the dev team is onto the next thing, so this fact is meaningless.

What games do you like that come out of Sony first party studios? All I'm hearing are the games you don't like or care about.

I agree to an extent about games that were "promised" but never delivered.

for me, it was Final Fantasy Versus XIII. that was one of the main reasons why I got a PS3 back in '09. of course, now it's been repackaged as a next-gen game and rebranded FF XV.

am I a bit bitter about that?? sure.

do I regret purchasing a PS3? NO!!!

I've ended up using my PS3 far more than my 360.

with that being said, I AM going to be cautious and wait before I buy a PS4.

I want to wait until games that I'm interested in, Dragon Age Inquisition, Diablo 3, and yes, FF XV, have an actual, firm release date.

oh, and look. I didn't have to call anyone names or trash one system or another to make that point.

amazing isn't it??

:whatever:

Maybe.
But I don't agree with that statement, not to its entirety anyway, but its all really just a matter of opinion anyway.

That said, my problem with the PS4 launch is their really aren't *any* interesting exclusives at or around launch *except* Infamous and Killzone, of which both of those I find only a mild interest in at best anyway.

Killzone is just okay to me because there are just so many other better shooters being released that look to be far superior, and Infamous, because the universe and world it takes place in has never been one I found very interesting to begin with. Just pretty generic.

So, my problem with PS4 is that there are *no* games I absolutely have to have at its launch, and further more that I am willing to spend 60$ on.

Couple that fact with nothing announced on the horizon except some phantoms and empty promises, of which knowing Sony, they have a reputation of either canceling games entirely, like The Last Guardian, or making announcements and than not releasing the game for four +years, like Killzone 2, which was announced at E3 2005, and not released until 2009.

I'm thankfully pleased that I never purchased a PS3 at its launch, Sony had so many games promised that were never released for a very long time, YEARS, Gran Turismo 5 being another one of them.

That said, I see no reason to buy a PS4 until Sony *Shows Me The Games*, and not empty hollow announcements, but on store shelves.
I'm not biting until I see tons of stuff on the retail shelves that I want.

So yeah, I'm gonna pass on the paper wight thank you.

In the meantime, MS is absolutely the safe bet for me, and an instant value for a day one purchase with upcoming hot exclusive titles in:
Forza 5, Quantum Break, Ryse: Son of Rome, Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, Fable Legends, Killer Instinct, Halo 5, Crimson Dragon, and Project Spark for starters.

As well as the very strong third party line up in:
The Witcher 3, Elder Scrolls Online, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, Metal Gear Solid 5, Dragon Age Inquisition, Battlefield 4, and COD Ghosts plus so many, many more.

So yeah, its really a no brainer.

Microsoft has the games beeyotches!

I'm going to try and help you out okay? I'm going to give you a hot tip for posting on the internet. Here's what I want you to do: Whenever you type out a post I want you to take a moment and read it over. When you're done, ask yourself a few questions.

  1. Do I sound like an idiot?
  2. Do I come off like a gigantic *****ebag?
  3. Am I making an ass of myself?

If you answer 'yes' to any of those questions, try rewording your post. Repeat as necessary until you answer 'no' to every question.

Naughty Dog's Uncharted team has not made a game since 2011. It is most likely their next title will be unveiled later this year for a 2014 release date.

Not only have you been infracted for trying to get past the censors, I've told you repeatedly to knock it off with the trolling. Good bye.

I have to agree with that troll about exclusive games. There's 7 (possibly 8) X1 exclusives I'm interested in, while there's only 3 PS4 exclusives I'm interested in (atleast out of the non Indie stuff). Hopefully it won't take Sony 3 years to start making console selling exclusives this time around.

Definitely think the X1 has the better launch lineup and the brighter immediate future but with the shear amount of quality first party studios Sony has insures they'll close the gap. I don't think X1 can win with exclusive games alone (though locking down Titanfall would go a long way), I think it's the Xbox exerpience they need to sell. The reliability of Xbox live. The unique gaming experiences only Kinect can offer that supplement the traditional games they have. If you want games go to Sony. If you want games and then some, go to Xbox.

Can't the Eye do everything the Kinect can?

If the exclusives had stayed the same as last gen where PS had much better and more numerous good single player games and XBox had just Gears, Halo, Fable, Forza & Kinect I'd be staying with Xbox as my primary as Gears is still my main multiplayer game. I'm sure when Sony announce sequels to their biggest franchises, especially Uncharted & God of War I'll be all over it.

In terms of announced new top exclusive games XB1 has so far surprisingly gone way out in front. Sony have The Order 1886 which I'm definitely interested in but then Knack & Drive Club which aren't getting me too excited. Other than that indies and old F2P games. XB1 has a LOT of new games & although they probably aren't system sellers, it's a big improvement on the exclusive gap on 360/PS3 at the end of this gen.

I hope MS keeps up with the exclusives. They did the same thing this gen, where they started off strong & then started to get lazy.

Crackdown, Banjo-Kazooie, Alan Wake, Perfect Dark, Conker & Viva Pinata are all perfectly fine franchises that MS is just sitting on.

Can't the Eye do everything the Kinect can?

Haha no not even close. It couldn't even do everything the Kinect 1 could do. I'm very excited for my xbox 1 and Ryse, Forza and Dead Rising 3. The only ps4 launch game I'm interested in is Infamous which looks amazing and that's because that's the only Sony exclusive I consider to be worth anything.

IGN got to play around with Ryse and its safe to say they're not too impressed. They said it looks beautiful but plays clumsy and unresponsive.
