It works as an upgrade from the demo system in place now, not as a replacement for freely lending games to friends.
But that's the kind of feature among 40 others that you would add without making a big deal out of it. Like cleaning up the look of the dashboard. It's a nice improvement but not a strong distinguishing feature. It works as an upgrade from the demo system in place now, not as a replacement for freely lending games to friends.
Oh that family plan does sound super lame and not what people expected at all. That was supposed to be a positive for the One? Fail
Did you ever use the 360 Family pack for XBox Live?I still think the positive was having one gold membership across the entire console, for all users.
And now that's gone. I think. I don't know.

Hahaha, Don Mattrick is becoming a pantomime villain. I kind of wish he did say exactly this and officially renamed it the XB180.Heh.
No, I have the family plan (although won't be allowed to renew it when it runs out). The cost for 4 accounts is like £10 less than the cost of 2 separate XBox Live accounts. It's not exactly the same as having 2 independent accounts though. There is one lead account and the others are subservient to it. So the lead account signs off on everything for the other accounts. So it only works if you go in on it with someone you trust.No.
Part of the reason, if I remember correctly, was that the price structure wound up being more than the cost I needed. Only two users on the console with my brother and me. And I think the family plan was something like the price of three users for a family of five or something like that. Not sure if that's correct, though.
And I think (though there's been so many things put out by Microsoft) that the way it was supposed/ or is still supposed to work was one user having a gold membership would cover the rest.
My point is, most of the outrage seems to be on principle rather than as a direct reaction to being genuinely affected.

The price is amazing though. I have quite a few friends who had 2 Xbox Live Gold accounts who I convinced to switch when they realise it was actually cheaper than what they were currently paying. But it's not available any more, was probably ditched because of all these new family plans. Hope it makes a comeback.
EA has said they wont bring back online passes. But I bet they will bring it back & just call it something else

Those who would give up their consumer rights for temporary convenience deserve neither consumer rights nor convenience.
or they'll make sure to throw some online elements into their games and say they must be connected to the internet in order to play. Think Sim CityEA has said they wont bring back online passes. But I bet they will bring it back & just call it something else
I was thinking about this too after Microsoft's reversalEA has said they wont bring back online passes. But I bet they will bring it back & just call it something else

Yes it is worth scrapping. It was one of the stupidest ideas MS had. Who the hell wants to share a demo? Why cant any One owner just go on the store to download it for themselves? The sharing plan thing sounds pretty dumb, but its not worth scrapping completely. Im sure somebody out there will want to show off their libraries to their close friends and family.
I did not. Have. Sexual relations. With that poster.I think it would be fine as long as you can prove (& upload to youtube) that you've had sexual relations with him within the last 2 years.
With the exception of certain games like MMOs and F2P games, I think most games are going to be hosted on Microsoft and Sony servers as opposed to EA servers. I don't see how they can really get away with it.or they'll make sure to throw some online elements into their games and say they must be connected to the internet in order to play. Think Sim City
EA will have to use Microsoft & Sony servers? I hope so. That would take away a lot of their excuses for their stupid policies. It's strange why a lot of EA sports games don't have much DLC though. Thought they'd be all over that. With the exception of certain games like MMOs and F2P games, I think most games are going to be hosted on Microsoft and Sony servers as opposed to EA servers. I think it's pretty clear that EA is going to be forced to adopt Activision's position on the used game thing, attempt to add value onto the game through DLC.
