The only thing with this price cut stuff is that xbox one was 500 and now it is already down to 350 in only a little over a year witch makes me think that there is no way they can afford another price drop for a long long time. Where ps4 being at 400 but not having a price drop for a long time they can probly afford a price drop before xbox one can again so really I think xbox one is not in good shape because of that and sony is. I mean when has a video game system went down by 150 in only like 14 months?

Xbox is fine.. Spencer said he would do WHATEVER it took to win. Sony was getting thumped last gen.. Pretty sure they had a big price cut in their first year. Stuff like this happens often. Sony, when the do drop the price.. Won't go lower than 350. I don't see them dropping it tho.. It's selling fine as is. If anything they'll have a few bundles here and there. They won't drop the price until MS outpaces them. Which could happen.

It didn't really go down from 500 to 350. When they introduced the Kinectless model, it was 400. The original 500 model was, and still is, available I think.

I think someone else made the point that even though it wasn't exactly a price cut, they promoted it as "now started at $399" instead of "now available without kinect" they worded it such for obvious reasons. but pretty much everyone viewed it as the first price cut. they probably wouldn't have done a kinectless option if the $500 bundle was selling better, so it was the first drop in price in purchasing the xbone.

I can understand why people view it that way, but I think of it more of making a cheaper alternative. Had they discontinued the Kinect version and made only the 400 package available, then yeah, definitely a big price cut, but since that version still continued I don't think of it as a traditional price cut.

I was lucky enough to get my Titanfall bundle about a month after that game came out for $400, with no tax and free shipping. I sold my Kinect to a friend for $50, so I basically got the bundle for $350 a long time ago.

Yeah I am surprised they went back up I just don't think they will be able to affored to go below 350 for a while where with ps4 being 400 I think they can go down to 350 soon and make it back to being the same has xboxone. Xboxone has no changes agest sony. Sony had ever thing going agest it last gen and still end up catching up and pasting them. If Microsoft couldn't hold on to a lead when they had a much cheaper system and a year head start and a system that had a lot less problems at the begging with xbox 360 compared to ps3 then how can the out sale ps4 with xboxone with out any of those advantages?

Ps3 did have a price cut but not by 150 in 14 months. I belive they cut by like 100 some time around the year mark but I think it was a long time before they had another price cut after that.

I think part of why they did that was to encourage sales. I.e. "buy now at discounted price, while you can".

It's unbundling 2 things rather than a regular price cut. If people want to purposely put blinkers on and view it as solely a price cut they'll be confused to find the 2 items separately cost MORE than they did bundled together. Normally when prices are cut things go down in price. If these people truly believe what they're claiming, MS should chop the X1 in 4 diagonally and charge $200 for each triangle. Then consumers will buy more viewing it as a price cut and MS will get $800 for each X1 even without a Kinect.

He's just saying the Xbox One has only had it's price cut once: by $50. Going down to $400 wasn't a true price cut because it was just taking away the Kinect. To say it was would be equal to cutting a pie in half, selling it for the half the price and calling it a price reduction.

Basically you can stream games, record, get notifications and messages from your Xbox account on anything running Windows basically. Also you can play co-op or vs with people that have PC versions of whatever game is also on the console. Supposedly.

So, you can actually stream games you buy from the Xbox store to anything with the app? That is pretty cool sounding. Not something I personally would use, but still, pretty interesting stuff.
