The longer it goes on the less sense it makes as a temporary measure. I don't really understand it. Unless it stays at that price permanently I think somewhere along the line their pricing strategy has been inefficient.

90% sure it is permanent dude

hmmm.....yeah.

when I see the ads for the $349 X1, they just say "Now $349." Nothing says "limited time."

you gonna get yourself an xbone again X

............not sure.

kind of want to wait a few more months and hear more about how Windows 10 will integrate with it.

I am........more open to the thought of giving it one more chance.

especially after Pat's report on the install times and hearing from other posters here that they haven't experienced such long install times like I did.

^^nice. it's stuff like that which also gets me excited for the X1's future.

Are you talking about preordering/predownloading? If so then yea you can. Thats how I do all my games. Ill buy it the night before, go ahead and download then its ready to play at either 12:01 am or 3:01 am depending on your location and the publisher. Some publishers unlock their games at 12:01 EST others will unlock at 3:01 EST.

Yeah that's what I meant. Thanks for answering

If I can get achievements on all Windows 10 pc games rather than just Microsoft ones like Fable: Legends, all while staying in party and playing cross platform with Xbox friends, I'm going to get the most beast pc I can find and play all the multiplats on pc. Should be getting a 4K TV in time for Windows 10 so maybe 4k gaming is not far off. :wow:

hmmm....yeah. it would be something if we could earn achievements ( and count towards our Gamerscore ) if we play non-MS PC games.

also, if we could get notified of our friends' activities on our PC, such as when we get a message or they come online, that would be neat. you may not be on your console, but then you see your friends are playing Halo, so you fire up your X1 to join them.

when will we hear more about X1 and Windows 10?

is there another event coming up?

and speaking of PC games, do most PC games support the X1 controller?

could I use an X1 controller to play games like the Dragon Age games, Mass Effects, Skyrim, Guild Wars, etc.?

I think it's coming out at the end of the year so should hear stuff reasonably often in the lead up to it. I've been using the 360 controller and that's worked for everything I've tried. Not attempted it with the X1 controller. Can't remember what the state of play was with that but if not now, I'm sure you'll eventually be able to play everything with it.

Huh, I thought they said they were already ready for 4k video! I can understand if they need new hardware to play UHD discs that weren't around at the time of designing the console but streaming 4k like youtube and Netflix they should have thought ahead and worked with them.

I thought the X1 already supported 4k video?

and don't you need a 4k tv in order to take advantage of 4k media?

TV or monitor, some kind of device that can output 4k. Although 4k TVs and monitors are both coming down in price really fast now. I think I'll buy at the end of the year/beginning of next year. I think it will be very common in 5 years.

And I don't know who it would have been attributed to but I definitely read a number of times that the X1 was supporting 4k video (just not gaming in 4k). What a joke if you have to buy a new console for it!

ah, thanks!

yeah, that's what I remember reading.

yeah, this forbes article sounds fishy. but it was still worth posting.

If it did happen I'd wait for a custom console for a game I really like.

If I didn't just renew Id be all over that. Guess extending my Live sub even more wouldn't hurt tho

if I didn't already have 3 or 4 unused Gold cards lying around, I'd jump at that deal, too.........

oh....and actually owning an Xbox system would help, too..........lol

It's also 40 on Amazon and 40 in GameStop. I grabbed a 4TB External HDD for my One yesterday. I'm set for the generation, lol.

I had something like 3.5 years left on my Gold Sub at one point after taking advantage of a load of deals.

Since it's everywhere what I'm wondering is, is this price cut permanent, or temporary
