Does anyone know if there's a 'sales' page on XB1 or something? All I can ever find is the Deals with Gold banner on the start menu, but that's kinda it. I just found out that XBL is having a WB Publisher Sale, because I've been going back and forth on re-buying Arkham Knight on XB1 (I own it on PS4) and saw it's 40% off. I googled it, and saw the sale. But, if it wasn't for that I'm not sure I would have known.

So, is there a section I'm missing or not seeing in the games store front or something? A spot showing all discounts at the moment?

so, is there still the issue where you can't purchase 360 games and stuff ( like avatar items ) directly through the X1 store, using your MS money?

You should normally get to the sales from the Games->Sales & Specials on the menu

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/promotions/sales/warner-bros

The best place to check the deals is the posts in Major Nelson's blog, tagged Deals with Gold, those post have all the week's deals with gold plus the publisher sales or whatever is going on, unified in one list

Thanks, man. The best, and easiest, is through the majornelson link. I think that was the list I first saw when I spotted the sales.

so anyone use EA Access??

if you play a game from the Vault, can you keep your saves and continue on when you buy the physical game for yourself?

I see 1 month of EA Access is included in the Madden X1 S 1TB bundle. trying to see if it's worth it as a bonus since I don't really care about Madden.

I hope there is a novelty Gears or Mass Effect Scorpio waiting for me next year.

since ME is supposed to be coming out early 2017, I'd say the chances of a ME themed Scorpio are kind of slim.

Maybe a Gears themed one, but by then, GOW 4 would already be a year old.

if they do themed Scorpios, it will probably be based on Scalebound or Crackdown 3 or whatever big 1st or 3rd party title gets released late 2017.

Maybe yeah, although I can't see either of those being that popular (the consoles if they do them, not the games). Any new game like Scalebound, people need to try it and love it before enough numbers will want to invest in a console specific to that game. Really it's the big long running franchises with large existing fanbases that work best for this like Gears and Halo on Xbox. I don't think Crackdown quite fits that definition either.

yeah. that's true.

but, it doesn't seem like there will be another GOW or Halo game coming out around Scorpio launch in Holiday 2017. maybe the following year, though.

Yeah, I'll probably just get the standard Scorpio. Now that I'm watching Netflix and cable in 4K directly through the TV and have a standalone 4k player, there doesn't seem much need to upgrade to the S (or Pro).

well, as I mentioned in the PS4 thread, it looks like I might be upgrading to a 4K tv sooner than I expected.

so, I'm trying to research decent 40" 4K/HDR tvs and I'm getting confused by all these HDR terms and standards...lol. I just want to know if the tv supports HDR10, like the S and Pro say they support.........

I was actually all set to go out and pick up an S this weekend. But then I reconsidered that if I spend a bit more on a 4K/HDR tv, then I might as well go for the Pro instead.

ok got some Scorpio news via both written article and video

EP Daily Rundown for September 20, 2016

Today in the Rundown, we catch the latest on the Nintendo NX and Pokémon, get some high resolution details on Microsoft's Project Scorpio, take a look at the new science fiction movie Passengers with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, hear from Hideo Kojima about the controversial new game Metal Gear Survive, and finally, have a quick look at Superman in the new season of Supergirl!

And in other next, next-gen console news, Microsoft has made a very big promise about Project Scorpio. The upcoming version of the Xbox One will run games natively at a 4K resolution. That’s according to Shannon Loftis, the general manager of Microsoft Studios Publishing. In a recent interview with USA Today, she says that all first-party Microsoft games will be native 4K. If this is true, it means Project Scorpio games will look amazing, if you have a fancy 4K television. Loftis didn’t say exactly what first-party Microsoft games will be launching with the new system, although Crackdown 3 will probably be coming out around the same time. Project Scorpio is slated to arrive in time for the Holiday 2017 shopping season, and we’ll have more on the system as new details come in.

I must say.......the X1 S is such a beautiful console. :hmr:

It's sleek and sexy and much lighter ( and smaller ) than I thought.

definite improvement over the original model.

I'm Saved!! Literally!!

I don't believe it!! But my prior save data still exists. Well, at least for Diablo III. Got Diablo installed, fired it up, and lo and behold! My level 31 Crusader still lives!!

Yay! I don't have to start all over. I was kind of dreading that.......lol.

Hopefull, the saves from my other games still exist. especially Dragon Age Inquisition. I really, really, really hope I don't have to start my DAI character all over.

I also like how the My Game and Apps and the Current Install info are located on the top right of the home screen. very convenient.

Ok so I just bought the Xbox One S and need some exclusive game recommendations. I've got a PS4 and have Battlefront, Doom, Overwatch and Fallout 4 on that console. I'm looking for the exclusives on Xbox I need to play. I bought Halo 5 with the S. What else do you guys recommend?

I missed this! Congrats!! How different is it to the regular X1?

I guess it's using your saves in the cloud synced to your gamertag.

Congrats! Good timing, Gears 4 is out in about 2 weeks!

yeah I agree, I at first wish it came in black like the fat one but I have to say that white color really pops in my entertainment center and I LOVE the white controller with the glossy black shoulder buttons it reminds me of a stormtrooper.

Well, I finally got my new tv setup and the X1 hooked up to it.

It's.......different. lol. I think I'm going to have to get used to it. It looks bright and clear, but perhaps a little too "oversaturated?"

I set the mode to Game to reduce input lag, but then it "washed out" everything. And I didn't get a 4K/HDR tv to have everything looked washed out.....lol.

So, I went in and turned HDR "on" and adjusted some of the other settings. Now, it looks more colorful and brighter but maybe a little too oversaturated, if that's the right word.

Guess I'll have to continue playing around with the settings. I just hope adding HDR and playing around with the settings won't affect the input lag while in Game Mode.

Forza Horizon 3 Demo certainly looks gorgeous on a 4K tv. :hmr:

I'm not much of a racing fan, but I will be picking FH 3 up when it comes out next week. It's one of the reasons why I got the S!

as for the S itself. I love it!

From a design/looks perspective, it's a beauty to behold. Goes well with my white shelf and overall just looks nice.

So far, it is performing well, and I'm getting readjusted to the X1 UI and Dashboard. Overall, I think I feel more at "home" with the X1 Dashboard/UI than the PS4.....lol.

Downloading/Updating/Installing times still suck though.........:o But that's my only complaint. :oldrazz:

But it looks like my luck with the Saves ran out. My DAI saves did NOT carry over. :(

ah well. guess I have to start that over.......

Yeah with these new TVs you will definitely need to muck around with settings gradually as the changes aren't straightforward. You should watch at least one genuine 4K HDR source (a 4K disc preferably, otherwise Netflix 4K or Amazon Prime) to make sure that your TV is set up properly. If you don't see a big difference at least when sitting close then something's not set up right. It's a bit more difficult with games as the difference won't be obvious till they are programmed to utilise 4K and HDR.

yeah. I love the white. kind of tired of black......lol.

yeah. I'll have to play around with it some more. Don't have a 4K disc yet. But I was planning on watching Tangled Blu-Ray tonight on the S ( Rapunzel on a 4K/HDR screen!! ).

In regards to Game mode, I know they recommend to use that to get the lowest Input Lag. But do I HAVE to use it?

And if I use Game mode but then start adjusting the settings, turning HDR on, etc., would that affect the input lag in Game mode, and thus defeat the purpose of using it?

If so, then I might as well just use one of the other Presets which do make the colors pop.

also, in general, with these 4K/HDR tvs, is it best to leave the "HDR Mode" on Auto?

I'm assuming, with Auto, it will use HDR when it detects a source that supports HDR. correct?
