yeah game stop they are the only ones that let me reserve and pay off the console before it hit the store.

EDIT: the system is hooked up and as I type this 79% updated getting ready to play my first game on it soon

Got it hooked up and loving it I have no Kinnect or headset at the moment so I could not use Cortana but all and all I like it looking forward to playing when I get home from work tonight.

cool!! thanks!!

hope you enjoy your new S!!

strange when I finished the update and logged into my Live account it did an update for the controller. is this a One thing my last one did no update but then again I got it used. I assume it is cause of the mapping button feature or is it for the bluetooth?

so far I am loving the new One S, sadly I do not have Kinnect or a headset (yet that should be being corrected in a day or so), so I have not tried out Cortana yet (I love her on my laptop). I am amazed how quiet it is, and how fast it turns on (if you have the fast boot or whatever it is called enabled), I can start playing a game seconds after hitting the power button. My friend who was gonna get his own One saw mine and now he is gonna get one he loves how mine looked, I guess MS hit a home run on the S model.

so, I've seen rumors that the NEO's price will be from $399-$450. If true, I think that's a fair price, but I want to see what the actual specs are.

hopefully, all will be revealed from Sony next week. and it will give a good idea to expect from the Scorpio in terms price.

if the Scorpio is indeed more powerful, maybe it will be in the $499-$599 range?

I reckon about $449-$529.

yeah. sounds about right.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if the Scorpio can launch at $450. and I'm sure there will be multiple SKUs at different prices.

I think $600 is the max they can go. Anything higher and it really will be a "niche" product for the hardcore gamers.

I'm really curious to see just how powerful the Neo will be. Will it be able to do everything the S can do, along with "true" 4K gaming? If not, then what's all that extra horsepower for. Just VR?

Will the Neo still release in 2016? Or is it now more powerful and now a 2017 item?

guess we'll find out next week......

If they were thinking of pricing over $600 it would probably be worth just taking a loss/bigger loss as it would be too much of a barrier to the bulk of the population.

yeah. I've seen some people say there's no way the Scorpio will be priced under $1000.

that's just not going to happen if MS wants this thing to achieve mainstream success and adoption.

Anyone who told you that was out of their ****ing mind. There's no chance in hell that MS, or anyone else, is going to release a $1,000+ home console to the market.

I agree. it's not like MS currently has the lead in marketshare that they can afford to give up. they want to attract more customers into the fold, not price them out. heck, one main reason why the PS4 has outsold the X1 was because of the initial $100 price difference at launch.

but it does make for good entertainment.

One Youtuber who proclaimed that the Scorpio won't be priced < $1000 said if it is, he would eat his beard.

so, he better get some ketchup or syrup or whatever ready to make that more "appetizing." lol

They're confusing what they think it would cost to make it against pricing strategy. If someone doesn't have $1,000 it doesn't matter how good the thing you are trying to sell them for $1,000 is.

yep.

and it doesn't even take into account the "extra" costs of buying a Scorpio.

If you don't already own a 4K tv, you'll need to buy one to get the full benefit.

And you'll probably need to buy a fancy VR unit like Oculus if you want VR to go with the Scorpio.

if you're new to the MS family, you'll need to buy games and accessories.

so, if the console alone costs $1000, you'll be looking to spend upwards of 2 or 3K to get the "full benefit" of the Scorpio experience.

The TV might even be cheaper if the box was $1k haha.

I guess you'd end up getting a new TV whichever system you go for, even Neo & the S.

I can't see myself getting VR for a fair while, will wait for the verdicts of other people.

haha. yeah, it would be something if the TV costs less than the console!!

right now, there's a $600 40" Samsung HDR 4K tv I've got my eye on. Maybe I'll get it when I get the Neo. Maybe it will be even cheaper by BF ( probably ). Most likely, it will be cheaper by the time Scorpio comes out next year or there will be a similarly priced newer model out.

but still, that's an extra $600 to factor in.

that's why I'm also curious to see if the Neo and Scorpio will offer tangible performance benefits for non 4k owners.

I'm already a bit miffed that I'm pushed to trade in my perfectly fine and functioning PS4 for an upgrade after just 3 years. And I'm not really looking forward to buying a new 4K tv as well to replace my current 1080p tv which is still working fine.

and yeah, I'm with you on VR as well. Not really interested in that right now, not even the PS VR. For one, my gaming area doesn't have the room for it......lol. unless I can use VR entirely sitting down, then maybe. But if I have to get up and move around, then no.

Plus, I'm worried about motion sickness and dizziness, which people still report when using these VR units.

I wouldn't see it as you have to feel pressured into upgrading. Use your regular PS4 and 1080p TV as long as you want. In the meantime advanced stuff is getting released and can start going down in price till you're ready to jump in. ;)

guess it depends on just how much of a performance boost the Neo can provide.

and, I'd also like to trade in my PS4 before the value totally plummets......lol.

I'm thinking of trading in my 2 X1s and my 4k blu-ray player for 2 X1 S's. And then trading both of those in for 2 Scorpios next year lol. Don't know if I can be bothered with the hassle though.
