BF sale.

Gears 4 or Mankind Divided? Just played the first bits of the first at this guy's house. Super divided between the two.

so, what's the consensus on Ryse? yay or nay??

worth it if I can get it for cheap?

I like sword and shield gameplay and soldiers/warriors/knights.

I like Ryse. If it's like, half the price, or close to that, it's worth it. Gameplay is repetitive but brutal and satisfying at times. Graphics are still gorgeous. Sometimes I just boot the game to walk around the scenery. Story is probably 4-5 hours on Normal, it's fine, a few collectibles here and there, not really meaningful, but it's there.

And the sword and shield is gameplay is there, definitely. Block heavy attack, stunning him, then attack and execution. Like I said, it's very satisfying.

I really like the setting. It's so damn exciting to fight alongside NPC Spartans as they keep shouting to boost morale.

thanks so much! that's great to hear!

What were the non-campaign modes like in Ryse? I'll definitely get around to playing it one day. And can imagine it's dirt cheap by now.

Glad I did not grab Gears 4 out of the gate. 40% off so I snatched that up.
Also picked up Divinity for 16 Bucks.

Was going to grab Titian Fall 2 but.. the demo left me with no interest which is odd as I really enjoyed the first one.

Always worth waiting if you can! There's very few games I buy on day 1 nowadays, although Gears 4 was one of them. Was the TF2 demo multiplayer or campaign. The campaign is apparently really good.

Ryse has a survival arena mode, if I'm not mistaken. Gladiator stuff, pretty sure. It's not really deep, but it's there. Never had the interest.

I'm enjoying TF2's campaign so far, BT is really likeable. Fresh stuff. Gameplay is smooth as silk, too.

so, can you buy Avatar stuff directly from the X1 now?

or do you still have to use the archaic, 360 system of buying Avatar items ( which doesn't let you use MS money )?

Yes, you can. You can use real money, pretty easy to get. If that's what you mean. Just open the Avatar app something.

Are you talking about Microsoft points? That was replaced with real money if you were. Was an unnecessary additional layer that made things less clear so I'm glad they're gone.

Oh thanks. Would like to try it. Not sure if it would have much long term appeal but I'd probably enjoy it for a bit. Btw were there any talks of a sequel to Ryse?

I would definitely recommend a good sale for this game. After beating the campaign, I was done with it. I do revisit some levels in time to time.

There were, two years ago. Crytek apparently is waiting for the right time, but truth to be told, the company is a mess right now, unpaid employees and all that shizzle. They did say 2 could release for PS4. That's from 2014, last time I heard anything about the IP.

Oh right, yeah that sounds familiar..damn. I hope more games of this style come out even if this doesn't itself get a sequel.

I swear! It's either my new router or the latest X1 update, but the download speeds seem much faster and more consistent than before. nice!!

anyways, just got back home with my BF-eve haul!! lots of good deals!! :woot:

Just bought an Xbox One S at Dell.
Came with Gears 4 (one of my primary reasons for getting Xbox One), Battlefield 1, and an extra wireless controller. All for $250. Saved $170

^ awesome deal!! congrats!!

and welcome to the X1 S family!!

Sighs. Already bought The Division and Titanfall 2 days ago. Now the weekend sales.... there's Doom and Skyrim :cmad:

Might as well sell an organ.

This combined with everything else is is all feeling like an 'I told you so' situation. :woot: But I'm glad you're finally settled and able to enjoy your gaming.

yes. I can finally enjoy gaming, browsing, watching Blu-Rays and 4Ks, playing digital media, and changing my dashboard background to whatever image I want - all on one machine - all on the Xbox 1 S. :woot:

until they announce that the Final Fantasy VII Remake will be PS4 console exclusive. and then my whole world will come crashing down again. :o

:oldrazz:
