Haha, there'll always be something!

yeah.....lol

I do hope the VII Remake will be multi plat and not PS exclusive. I don't mind PS4 getting it first, but I want to see it on the X1 as well.

of course, by the time that ever gets released ( given XV's track record ), we may be talking about Scorpio and Pro 2.0 or even PS5. :o

also, as an aside, this is based on my extremely limited, casual, non scientific observation.

but when I was at my local Best Buy store this BF afternoon, I noticed that there were still a ton of Uncharted Slim PS4 bundles and PS4 Pro bundles stacked on the floor, as well as a ton of Minecraft X1 S bundles, but only a few GOW4 X1 S bundles left!!

so, hopefully, that's a sign that there was more demand for the S than any of the PS4 bundles, at least at my local BB store!!

to which I say........good! :o

So the Minecraft ones aren't selling that much in your store either? I guess Gears is the newer big game. Although Pros should be selling well given how new they are although maybe not so much on BF as they might be too new to get decent discounts.

My position is very clear now after initially deciding on Pro and later considering S. Now I'm skipping both and getting Scorpio only, and also keeping both my OG X1s.

yeah. I'd say that's a wise decision.

and last night (Thanksgiving) when I shopped, I saw one person buy a Pro, another a Slim, and another a Battlefield X1 S bundle.

but yeah, when I went back today to scavenge for the leftover goodies ( and the games were pretty much cleaned out.....lol ), I saw a ton of Pro, Slim, and Minecraft bundles, but the Gears were pretty much cleaned out.

I really think ( and hope ) that the $50 sale on all X1 bundles made the 1TB bundles especially attractive.

didn't see a lot of Pro deals except for a few Pro + 4K tv deals. which, if you think about, just makes the omission of a 4K player in the Pro even more glaring. Those Pro + tv deals would have been even sweeter if the Pro also doubled as a 4K player.

I wonder if Sony now think it was a mistake, are oblivious to concerns or just didn't have the choice to include it for some reason (their own hardwqare budget for eg).

How were the BF1 bundles selling? I thought they would be popular.

didn't really see any BF1 bundles, other than the one I saw someone buy last night.

but, maybe that's a good sign that they sold if I didn't see any on the floor? lol.

but then, I didn't exactly do a thorough search either.

based on the games left, it seemed the regular editions of Battlefield and COD sold well, as I saw plenty of COD Legacy Editions lying around and a few Deluxe Battlefield editions. I picked up a copy of COD Regular Edition but no luck with Battlefield 1 Regular Edition. :(

Skyrim seemed pretty much cleaned out, as was Bioshock Collection. Some Gears 4 copies left and one Witcher 3 Complete Edition ( which I also snagged.....lol ).

but there looked to be plenty of Titanfall 2 copies left.

and all of that was for X1 - don't know about PS4 copies.

so, these past few days, I've been using the CW app to watch Supergirl and Flash.

and apparently, the CW app is NOT available for the PS4.

yet another reason for me to like the X1 S. :oldrazz:

Sad that TF2 is not selling that well but I predicted that. Witcher will be great. I am in for the long haul trying to finish Gears 4 (all achievements).

I actually may return Witcher, as that was kind of a last minute impulse buy and not the game I really wanted to get that day.......lol.

oh, and good luck with Gears!

Not your kind of thing?

I bought a couple of catch up games too, Arkham Origins and CoD Advanced Warfare.

yeah. I like the fantasy/medieval setting of Witcher, and I hear it's a great game.

but I also prefer games where you can create and role play your own protag. And I've got Dragon Age Inquisition, Skyrim, and hopefully Mass Effect early next year to satisfy that need.

plus I got a ton of other games on sale during Thanksgiving/BF. so I've got plenty of stuff to catch up! lol

I knew you liked the character creation side a lot but didn't know how big it was for you. I think I like playing a story through as the main character designed by the game but it's tehn fun to play it again as my own created character. And I like it on games that are designed for that, although it can limit the amount of direct storytelling about a specific character the creators can do.

I don't mind set protags, but if given the choice, I'd rather create my own character - even if that does limit the storytelling a bit or whatever.

one reason is because I like ( and prefer ) female protags. so, if I can create my own female protag, that's good. even better if I can make her hot ( she must be the prettiest character in the game ), blonde, and blue eyed. Like Supergirl!

And like Superman and Supergirl, my created characters are always noble and good and knightly/warrior type characters. which is why I gravitate towards the classic sword and shield style gameplay.

I have a hard time playing sneaky assassin type characters ( not that they aren't fun ) or role playing my character as a major jerk.

yes......that means I'm always a push over when it comes to quests. I have a hard time turning down someone's request for help. :o

With something like The Witcher which is based on a series of novels with a strong and unique/definitive rather than generic main character, I always want to play as that character. Same goes for my first playthrough on Mass Effect I want to play as Shepherd, although it is a bit less important there with the way the game is set up to cater for multiple scenarios. On that game I like doing one playthrough as a noble male Shepherd, and the next as a mean ***** Femshep! (even noble Shep still punches annoying reporters though)

yeah. I think some games/stories work better with set, defined protags, while others work best with customizable ones. but it's nice to have both kinds of games for variety. I am glad, though, that I discovered the Bioware/Bethesda type games, because those have become among my favorite franchises.

anyways, one great feature about X1 is its support for external drives. I know several years ago when the feature was announced, I downplayed it cuz I thought having another device attached to the console was inconvenient.

While I still think it would be nice if the internal drive was replaceable, I can't deny that it is way more convenient ( and cost effective ) to use an external drive. Plus, it's a godsend when switching to a new machine. For example, I still had my games installed on an external drive from the prior time I owned an X1. When I got my new X1 S, I just had to plug the drive in and my games were already there - no need to reinstall and redownload everything. Huge time saver!!

I really hope Scorpio supports external drives and easily supports the same drives as the X1 so you can easily plug in your external into the Scorpio and have all your games ready to go on the new system.

All the Best Cyber Monday Deals: PS4 Slim, Pro, & Xbox One . November 27, 2016 . 2:30pm

Cyber Monday is upon us (well, in less than 12 hours), and the deals are already popping. If you held back on Black Friday to wait for the deals, you’re in luck, as quite a few have sprouted this Sunday. Particular attention was paid to the PS4 Slim and Pro – consoles which were quite dismal in deal selection during Black Friday last week.

On the Xbox One S side, things continue on the same path, with Microsoft offering the free game plus gift card bonus – along with the usual $50 off – on all Xbox One S bundles. The only item that sold out was the Storm Grey BF1 500GB bundle – as of writing, the white BF1 500GB bundle is still available. Now a few more bundles have joined the deal fray, with eBay Deals now offering Xbox One S 1TB bundlesddd at $299.99 plus $50 gift card bonus. If the free game selection at Microsoft Store doesn’t entice you, these are good alternatives.

As mentioned, there are quite a few interesting PS4 deals up for grabs as of Sunday. At Best Buy, they are offering both the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro with a free copy of Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition. While Infinite Warfare itself is “meh”, with the Legacy Edition, you do receive the excellent Modern Warfare Remastered. Plus, if you use VISA Checkout, you’ll receive an additional $25 off the purchase price. This brings the PS4 Slim deal to $224.99 at Best Buy, and yields a PS4 Pro price drop to $374.99. Alternatively, if you don’t care for COD games, you can pick up PS4 Slim at at Amazon for $249.99 with a $50 gift card bonus, while the PS4 Pro gets a straight shot discount to only $339. Update: $50 gift card deal is expired but there is now a straight up discount to $212.49 for the PS4 Slim!

Definitely agreed on that, very glad we get a good helping of both. And RPG fans are certainly grateful that those 2 companies are making games!

I know lol. Another area where I was thinking I would be saying I told you so in future! :woot: I bought 8TB for X1 at launch and a 2TB for 360 and so far they've been great. Can't imagine having gone any lower with the size of games now and it's super-convenient for people who have more than one of the same console or want to play at someone else's house.

Yes exactly. I purposely buy the console with the smallest internal drive going to save a few £ and only put things on there as a back up (like crucial game saves).

I really hope Scorpio supports external drives and easily supports the same drives as the X1 so you can easily plug in your external into the Scorpio and have all your games ready to go on the new system.
I'm sure it will.

I still wish you could back up your X1 saves to the external drives, too.

as far as I know, the saves are still on the local drive and on the Cloud.

Are they? I hadn't actually checked that on X1.

The cloud is cool but I'd prefer external to internal.

yeah, I'm pretty sure the game saves are on the internal drive and on the Cloud.

I don't think they save to the external. I know that has been a feedback requested feature in the past, but don't think they have changed that yet.

Game Saves are stored to the drive that has the game install, so if you have installed games on external, saved games will be on external as well

Oh cool. For me that's external. I would rather have them on cloud and external otherwise I can lose track of which game is saved where (or which one is most up to date) when I come back to one after a long time.

Game saves are done on the drive that the games are installed onto and on the "cloud" (hate that term lol)

This way if you install a game on a second Xbox it will download your save to the drive your game is installed onto.

I use an external and move it around xboxes if necessary (only when playing a single player game on different consoles).
