So the GTA V with a Megalodon Shark Card bundle(8 mill in game currency) is 64 bux. The Megalodon card by itself is 100. If I buy the bundle, but already own a copy of GTA, I'd basically get that shark card for 64 correct?

As soon as the announcement was made I went to Xbox.com and bought it digitally for 7 bux.

really hope the unified Windows Store lets customers use their MS account money to pay for 360 games, Avatar props, etc.

^ yeah. it's a pretty annoying policy. There have been a few Avvy items I want to buy, but I can't do so without a credit card on file.

And for security/privacy reasons, I don't want to have a card on file. that's why I buy those currency cards and redeem those.

because I'm looking through the description of the S console on various retail sites and I don't see a headset included.

and the cost of the console is only half of the "true" cost for these 4k machines, since you also need to own a 4k tv to get the full benefit. So, if you don't already own a 4k tv, that just adds to the total cost of buying a Scorpio.

that's one reason why my plan right now is to get the S next month and wait a few years before upgrading to the Scorpio. as a non 4k tv owner, and a casual gamer who doesn't play much, I just don't think I'm the target audience for the Scorpio, especially at launch at max price.

It's also a lot to do with if you intend to be much of a 4K media user. I think that's the main reason these mid-gen consoles are being released as it's this that will make the old consoles redundant as media machines later in the gen, especially if it were to last as long as previous gens.

since I don't own a 4K tv, I don't have much interest in 4K media either lol.

I'll upgrade to a 4Ktv and to 4K media when it becomes apparent that 4K is the new "standard" and Blu-Ray is relegated to 2nd place. Much like how Blu-Ray replaced regular DVDs. Hopefully that doesn't happen until a good 2-3 years.

that's ok, Iceman. there's no rush. only do it when you have time and when it's convenient for you.

and yeah. if MS does offer a trade in program for Scorpio, I hope that also extends to the S model and that it goes beyond just the launch period of the Scorpio.

If I get the S next month, I don't plan on buying the Scorpio at launch. It may be a good 6 month to 1.5 years after the Scorpio launches before I decide to trade in my S and upgrade.

It would be nice if, when I do decide to trade in the S and upgrade to the Scorpio, the trade in program will still be there.

maybe MS can create some kind of "loyalty" program or something where existing X1 owners ( original and S owners ) can register their console on Xbox.com. Then, when they want to upgrade to the Scorpio, no matter when, they just fill out a form on Xbox.com and print out a trade in "voucher" that they can take to any major retailer that does trade ins ( Gamestop, Best Buy, etc. ). The voucher would give them an extra $50 above what the retailer will give at the time of the trade in.

So, if Best Buy will give me $175 for my S at the time I trade it in, then the voucher would give me an additional $50 for a total of $225 towards the Scorpio.

something like that would be really nice and it would further engender loyalty to the Xbox brand. If you stay within the Xbox family, MS will reward you.

All these guys should be encouraging loyalty. Even if they make a little bit less by offering trade in at a less favourable price, every successive console they can get a person to stay with in their line deepens that long term loyalty.
