Any review listed on RT has a likely chance of containing spoilers. The first review does have spoilers so proceed with caution unless you've already seen the film or don't care to be spoiled :)

I skimmed through his review and have no idea if he revealed any spoilers, but I got the gist of what he thought of it. He feels that it is grey and gritty, but does not think Superman should be portrayed this way. However, he liked it and thinks it is worthy and a modest improvement over the last few Superman films. So I take it that he thinks MOS is pretty good, but not great. :whatever:

If he gave The Avengers the same rating, that means he thought it was also good, but not great?

If this is the case, then. . .

Just read the last paragraph of his review. I don't get the impression that he loved it. :whatever:

I think there will a lot of favorable reviews that don't LOVE it, but like it enough for a fresh rating. I'll say high 80s to low 90s with around a 7 average score.

I like a ton of movies that are 3/4 stars. no big deal, he liked it move on.

Exactly read through all the fresh reviews even for movies like the Avengers they are not all glowing it never happens..

Yea, really. Now the critic has to "love" the movie? A favorable review is good enough.

From Modern Myth Media:

"The success of the superhero film genre, while inarguable, has felt incomplete. The original superhero and thus the character responsible for the entire concept on which the genre is based, Superman, has not been a part of that success in decades. Along comes “Man of Steel,” a relentless film full of awe-inspiring heroics that finally allows its title character to claim his rightful place at the forefront of the genre, and the audience’s collective imagination."

Whatever problems Man of Steel has - and it has enough to keep it from being a cohesively great movie - it has enough good to make it a must-see. Like I said up top, a couple of thousand words ago, this is the Superman movie we’ve been waiting to see. The fact that it leaves room for improvement only makes me more excited for the next one.

This coming from Devin I'd say is a pretty good sign. I was expecting him to hate this.

Remember guys, WB owns RT so don't be surprised if you see 30-50 fresh ratings first if not more. The first rotten review, may God have mercy on their soul... :D

MAN OF STEEL was still way better than this yr's other summer tentpoles IRON MAN 3 and STAR TREK 2. I'm all for Snyder returning for sequel.
