Grab the pitchforks...

The Variety writer is just disappointed that Otis isn't in this.

So if it's too funny it's campy, and if it's not funny enough it's humorless. Yeah.
Indiewires review is a negative on RT he gave it a C+ and yet on metacritic it is a 58/100. Yeah that makes me confused
Whatever problems Man of Steel has - and it has enough to keep it from being a cohesively great movie - it has enough good to make it a must-see. Like I said up top, a couple of thousand words ago, this is the Superman movie we’ve been waiting to see. The fact that it leaves room for improvement only makes me more excited for the next one.
Superman Returns was 154 minutes...Superman The Movie was also 143 minutes.Eric Kohn 58 While certainly the most dazzling Superman movie to hit the big screen, the 143-minute Man of Steel is also the longest, and it only justifies that heft because it leaves room to keep the effects coming.
i can understand why they took a more serious role for this movie... i mean, look at Lester's Superman II, III, and... well, we all know about IV...
What?! You want research or something? It's not like it's part of his job.Superman Returns was 154 minutes...Superman The Movie was also 143 minutes.
I saw Superman I and II in the theater. Didn't even bother with the other two until they were on cable. I loved the first two movies, so seeing that franchise fall was just sad...

i like the first two as well (i personally the restored international Cut of Superman II, but thats just me)... just happy that they're giving the attention Superman deserves, and from the sound of it, it's really paying off

I agree here. It's not knock on that style though. It just isn't my preference. I want a superhero movie that takes itself seriously. The comics have been doing it for decades.yep, and lots of action with a solid story is WHAT I WANT from Superman. This isn't Ironman3 or Avengers guys, were every 10 seconds there is a Joke. I personally am not a fan of that method.
