When it comes to Zack Snyder, his film feature-film debut Dawn of the Dead has earned the highest score according to RT.com at 75% (top critics 61%), while 300 got away with 60% from all critics (43% rotten rating with the top). Watchman received 64% fresh from all reviews, but falls short in the top grouping with 45%. Legend of the Guardians is 50 regardless of all reviews and top critics. Sucker Punch comes out at the bottom with 23% combining all reviews together, and only 15% from the top.

Man of Steel has a very good chance of being Zack's #1 reviewed film. In fact, I think we can already call it. :woot:

I think Man of Steel will be at 79%...Those that dont like it will blame, too much action

yep ^ SR had lots of soft moments and wasn't in your face. Man of Steel will be MUCH better received from fans and the GA than SR because SR was a little soft for Superman, and nobody really wants a stalker Superman imho. Still did she like MOS at all @king666?

I don't know her in person. She was tweeting about the movie. She said "MOS was too loud" or something like that, then someone asked "so SR was better?" and she replied: "Yes!".

Well yeah, critics always complain about anything CGI heavy (Avatar being the main exception). I imagine they will say it's too long and needs to lighten up. I think those will be the most common complaints. Too dark, robbing the fun... and too much action. I expect Avengers and SM: The Movie to be used as references for what it should have done. :whatever: Also some will take issue with the big spoiler at the end (please don't discuss here).

I still think pacing/depth will be a topic. I didn't find it to be too much action, but could they lose some? Sure I suppose. It's broken up just enough that it doesn't bog down anywhere.

@$!!#$@!%2562 What?! Superman Returns was better? Good lord, people. Well, that just goes to show there were dull and braindead people in the audience back in 2006.

That will only affect hardcore fans, I think the GA would like that.....and I don't think critics will mind.

Pretty sure Avengers had 92% RT and it had tons of Action

There are some exceptions. I think MOS will be higher than Batman Begins with top critics.

toooo much action, and im guessing some other details

The "too much action" or CGI didn't hurt the Avengers. If critics are going to be consistent, then they should have more solid reasons to hate MOS.

Someone get grandma her warm milk so she can go to bed. :o

"Too loud" is one of the dumbest reasons ive heard someone knock a movie.

AND a clean diaper! I bet she sh@$ herself plenty of times in the action sequences:woot:

I see the fun of people being upset over other people's opinions is already starting.

I've read your reasoning for pacing issues and take it under consideration. What is the depth problems you have?

LOL the 15 second clips for this movie are better than the whole of Singerman Begins. Damn.

Like....I really don't understand that. There is zero way SR is superior to MOS....like...no way in hell. I haven't even seen it yet and that's obvious going into it.

Where was the list of types of people who will dislike MOS at again? Wasn't "people who loved SR" on there? Lol. Still mad about the reboot I guess.

In fairness, if someone thinks a superhero action film is 'too loud' then they clearly have no idea what kind of film they were going to see. Or else there is a problem with the volume level in their theatre.

I don't think Adams is miscast, I think they wrote Lois' character differently because they didn't want to make her an archetype. :D
I think I will enjoy her :)

You could say the same for Garfield vs. Tobey as Peter Parker.

I can't tell if this is a review or an article?:

It's spoiler-free anyway.

It's an article.

Warner Brothers' lesson from Returns was clear. Superman can be dark, he can even be a dad, just don't make him maudlin.

... Like Returns, this too promises to be a more serious, relatively realistic take on the world's most popular caped hero. But unlike Singer, this time Snyder (Watchmen), screenwriter David Goyer (Batman Begins) and producer Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) seem to have figured out what the X-Men director didn't: Once you define who Clark Kent (Kal-El, Superman) is at his core, his values and his fears, then you can deliver any spectacles you want, but you have to start small first, instead of envisioning a grand apparatus and then searching for ways to add heart.

The latter misstep has often translated into lazy ways of bringing Superman down a peg—typically cheesy roundabouts that simply axed the "super" out to leave only the "man." Clark gets drunk in a diner and trash talks a bully; he wrestles with an evil version of himself in a junkyard; He's just like you and me!

But we don't need to see Superman lose his powers or stalkerishly moping over a lost love in order to identify with him. At his essence, Superman is someone who knows with every (admittedly unbreakable) bone in his body that he is called to do something, something noble, something that he is capable of doing, but a calling that will never be easy. Last time I checked, that's everyone.

Driving this point home with a character-filled script frees up Snyder and his stellar cast that includes Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe to make Man of Steel the biggest, wildest, most Michael Bay-est epic ever. Which is just as it should be, as long as we feel something. And we will.

Because this is not Superman gone dark. It's Superman from the inside out. The one we've been waiting a generation for.
