meh, Metacritic is a pretty poor system anyways, I've always been confused why people pay so much attention to it

It's better than RT which just takes a percentage of binary good/bad judgments but doesn't evaluate how good or how bad the reviews rate the films.

Both. He was my choice before he was cast. After seeing him actually in the role, he exceeded my expectations.

He embodies the character in personality and looks. Oh, and his voice. It's perfect. He comes off confident and commanding, but not *****ey.
:yay:does he exude some more swagger like he did in that interrogation clip they released

Yes it does. The average rating below the percentage is usually spot on and is the thing I most keep my eye on. Man of Steel is getting a 7.2/10 right now. For comparison TDKR and Avengers both got 8/10 last year, Superman: The Movie 8/10, Superman II 7.5/10, Superman III 4.5/10, Superman IV 2.8/10, and Superman Returns 7/10.

Yes, but like I said, not in a *****ey way. He's confident, but not arrogant. And Cavill gives him little "self aware" expressions, like he knows he's not ready for what's coming, or he got his ass handed to him. It's well done and makes his Superman relatable.

He was my first choice too but I'm just glad the critics seem to be happy with his performance.

The only good thing from the "Whatever" review was he said MoS will make $180 million in its opening weekend :D

Avg RT rating is now 7.5/10 and 82% but main page says 81%.

Back up to 82%. RT. I guess is gonna swing up and down for a little while as the reviews come in but I'm hopeful it will settle down in the low to mid 80's.

I don't really care on the scores, so long as i enjoy/love the movie, but generally RT scores of 80+ are indicative of how much i will like a flick.

More importantly though, a good to excellent critical consensus helps bums on seats and bank, which in turn helps secure us sequels and a DC movie future! So that's why I'm nervous of RT and MC.

On a side note my girlfriend told me this morning that the UK guardian newspaper were pretty scathing I'm their review, particularly of the Lois/Clark relationships and the interpersonal relationships in general. I haven't read it yet though as I'm too worried about spoilers.

Warming again, don't know if it contains spoilers, gf didn't elaborate. Guaridan MOS first look review

I hope it will settle in the 90's. I suppose that's not realistic though.

Read this one. There are no major spoilers. Your worries will disappear. This review is the best one I have read so far IMO.

Was just about to post this, easily one of the most glowing reviews out there. Hope more people end up seeing it this way.

Ok read the guardian review, and it's not as bad as I feared stil 3/5. But the guy seems clueless about the movie history. He calls the Donner film a tongue in cheek self parody(?!). And refers to SR as a reboot(double??!!).

Also just read the wegotitcovered review. That's more like it, certainly a glowing, super positive review. And whilst I really hope and wish everything is as he tell, it does seem a little hyperbolic.

They will because I am in total 100% agreement with the review on everything. From the action, storytelling, characters, set pieces, special fx, music. It's all a work of art and easily Snyders best film ever and arguably one of the best comic book movies I have ever seen.

Man of Steel is one of those movies where people will walk away feeling like they truly got their money's worth. The film itself deserves repeat viewings due to the sheer epicness itself. I know that word is overly used but that is the one word you can describe Man of Steel. Epic, epic, epic, movie.

RT is now at 83% and 7.7/10 let's hope more good reviews keep on coming. A lot of them contain spoilers -- some major and without warning, so be careful.

Hmm, someone that I enjoy reading reviews from didn't like it too much. Shame.

but “Man of Steel” sets out to darken up the last son of Krypton and to fit him to the current trend of brooding, haunted vigilantes.

It's crap like this I was worried about with this movie. Ugh.

The actual movie or the review? It seems you can back pretty much everything in the movie with the comics unlike previous ones.

Maybe its just me, but the three rotten reviews actually make me feel better. The complaints are too much action, too long, not much humor, etc etc...sounds good to me :)

Well if those complaints was for another Bayformers movie than I would stay far far away.

Yep, 83% RT. 15 Fresh, 3 Rotten. Looking good IMO.

After reading them, couldn't agree more! Sounds like my kind of movie, and exactly what I been waiting for for 2 plus years! :)

I don't think Bayformers is lacking for (attempts at) humour.

It's just relative to previous Superman movies.
