Only because of the mixed reviews. MOS has 1 negative review on that site. And of you check RT they would have picked mixed instead of rotten if they could. That's how RT manipulates the score. I saw on about 5 reviews that had it 1.5/4 or 2/5. Most are 2/4 or 3/5. Which are not bad scores
It's not like that didn't happen for all other movies too though.

I think the die hard fans that are freaking out about the RT rating that haven't seen it aren't worried about their own thoughts, once they see it. They'll love it regardless. They're more worried about the overall MoS success at the box office and fanboy pride. They needed this to be a massive success in all aspects. That's why they keep justifying the bad score by comparing it to other movies and their scores.

For me, I only care about my score.

Personally, I couldn't give a rat's butt what the rating is on RT. Just listening to the soundtrack is getting me more pumped by the minute to see this film on Friday.

:pal:

I cannot get the music out of my head. It's almost disturbing how often I catch it looping through my brain. How can a score this good not make this movie better?

No shame about that.

I can't believe the RT review is worse than Superman Returns...Superman can't escape 70/80's nostalgia with critics? This doesn't bother me, but it can hurt how much legs this movie has...

Now, will the movie perform better than Superman Returns? Can Nolan name pull it through? Was the budget the same?

Indeed. At this point, I'm prepared to see it drop as low as somewhere in the 50's or 40's.

And even though we shouldn't listen to critics, it's not exactly uplifting when you're hearing several posters and regular fans talking more about how many flaws the film had as opposed to good things.
Superman Returns was not that bad of a movie. Really Superman Returns was well received by both the Critics and the General Audience. The main issue the GA h ad with that movie was that it had little to no action and that they liked the movie instead of loved it. It was us Superman comic fans that were split on the movie and still are. But Superman Returns had a well written story and gave us for the first time a flawed Superman who made mistakes. I am sure Man of Steel will be a great movie just like SR was. The problem with the reviews is you're seeing most of the negative reviews come from an older generation that is kind of out of touch with today's youth. Much like the Academy Awards.

Return was bad IMO... Superman had very little lines... He was a father that like to stalk Lois and her family... I'm sorry but it wasn't good... I try to watch it the other day and I still don't like it. I guess people like it because it was a tribute to Donner's Superman. Saving cats and lex's girl in a car just isn't going to cut it for me now... This is why the reboot happen... We need a new direction away from the past Superman. I glad MOS will be here tomorrow night... Let the Epic action begin...

Critics loved the nostalgia...but I'm pretty sure I've seen Superman Returns in some $5 or $10 bins at Walmart.

SR wasn't a great movie....decent movie that had too big of a budget so it didn't make expectations. Fans were divided, but now agree it was subpar due to gross mischaracterization of Superman.

I just hope you guys who really care about MOS's RT score dont let it ruin your experience with the movie.

The best thing these bad critic review can do for you is lower your expectation and when you finally go see it it will blow your mind a way... Or go with low expectation regardless. It will make the movie a lot more amazing. Too much expectation can lead to disappointment if movie doesn't rub you the right way...

Caught Man of Steel last night. If not for the pedestrian plot which turns this into nothing more than one big action set piece after another, MOS would've been excellent. This is a first outing so I'll be more forgiving especially since Henry Cavill does such a brilliant job as Kal-El that I'd love to see him don the blue tights again. Hopefully this gets them to rectify some of this movies evident issues such as the aforementioned lack of story. You can read my full movie review of Man of Steel here.

And you'll see The Dark Knight, Batman Begins and other good movies in that bin at some point as well.

The thing is the GA felt the movie was ok but not great most of them still feel that way. We as comic fans may feel different. To be honest the fan base is really still split. But the people who hated it are just more vocal at this point because the people who did love it see no reason to defend a movie that will never see a sequel. It is like SV before it went off the air it always left the Superman fan base divided. Now off the air unless you go to their forum the people who either hated it or thought it was average are more vocal because theirs no point on defending it.

Man of Steel will do well but just like Nolan's Batman series you'll find fans who hated it and if you look those people are becoming much louder everyday. I just think the WB needs to be prepared if Man of Steel doesn't bring in as much as they hope.

I just hope Man of Steel Wins Florida... if it doesn't then we're are @Y^&#%!

At least there is a chance it can win Ohio...but even that is slippery slope...

every subsequent review diminishes the volatility of the score....unless there is a bias within future results, which is unlikely.

if it is rotten ill kill myself

guys honestly chill out... some of these reviews are tragically stupid and ridiculous in their opinions. Others definitely have some points but those are even debatable.

Just watch it for yourself, again my reaction was the film had total magic .. It is certainly a hell of a lot better than other Superman films in the past and it's a triumph big time.
