For somebody that claims to be such a fan of The Last Son of Krypton you sure seem to have not let the character influence the way you interact with other people here. Tact, humility and graciousness are hallmarks of Superman. If you are as big a fan as you claim I would think some of that would rub off. WWSD?

I made a comment about critics and that guy took it as though I bashed his mother. I have not made any negative comments towards anyone else. I have no issues with that guy but he came on here with his panties in a twist because I said critics with brains and now you are saying WWSD? First off Superman isnt real and he has been known to blow up when written to do so, have you played Injustice? Joker - Dead - bring up any memories? Yea Supes did that! I just am not going to sit back and let people talk trash. If I called him out so be it but I never did that

this movie seriously rocks, i mean nolans entire batman franchise as a whole is pretty lukewarm when you really think about it

I've been thinking about it since 2005. I disagree.

I'd love for MoS to become an epic franchise, though.

62%????? Every night I sleep I have a nightmare about waking up to lower RT scores, and when I do wake up, I realized that my nightmares do come true...

I wonder what happens on this board the moment it dips to Rotten territory....

I actually am in the camp of wanting a Supes that "tears it up". I made a devils bargain with myself a while back when it came to MOS. As long as he was shocased as a titan walking the Earth I would be fine. He needed to be in a film with DBZ like action because like it or not the younger generation needs to see that side of the character. It is a part of Supes appeal that has been given short shrift for too long. I don't think I will have to worry about an on screen meeting between Cavil as Supes being tossed around by whoever is Batman. The GA would cry BS, and that can only be good for the character.

You do realize that top critics gave it 63% THE SAME AS BATMAN BEGINS!!! Right?

i guess everyone is entitled to there own opinion at the end of the day, but i felt that apart from heath ledgers joker and zimmers score, the whole universe is a bit watered down, where as man of steel even though is grounded in "reality" has the potential to really expand on the universe they have created

LOL... I seriously do... but if i shut my eyes, falls asleep, the nightmares may begin, and it might affect the RT scores again... looks like i could be psychic! :oldrazz:

Won't matter if it dips to Rotten... like someone said, a second SUN (maybe a red giant) will appear on these boards!

Well, I only responded, because you said lukewarm, which implies mediocre quality. It was watered down if we're talkng in terms of extravagant comic book stuff, but that's a problem only if you care for that sort of thing when it comes to Batman.

Superman needed to NOT be watered down and it looks like it's not, so it's all good.

Going from 62% to 61% at the stroke of the refresh button...

OK, I am gonna shut off RT now...

I get why people turn to aggregating sites such as RT but it shouldn't form the basis of your decision. Critics, like the rest of us, are human after all. We each have our preferences and with a title such as Man of Steel is bound to attract more eyeballs than say This is the End.

Eventhough I didn't think it was great Man of Steel is better than most summer blockbusters in that it actually tries. Too bad it loses momentum during the 3rd act. As I explained in my movie review of Man of Steel it could've used another writer to mould the script into something truly special.

I am 28 years old. I couldn't tell you when exactly I was introduced to Superman, but I have memories of being 3 years old watching the old 40's Superman cartoon and the moment that sticks out the most is when Superman is flying and punching his way through a giant laser beam. I can't shake that image.

Chances are you fell in love with Superman as a kid because you saw him do something amazing and powerful. Think of every Superman cartoon you ever loved. The first half was plot setup and the second half was Superman doing cool s***. And you loved that cool s***.

I'm glad this movie has tons of the cool s***. I'm glad they captured the essence and the spirit of the character in a way that's never been realized, but I'm also glad that it appears they dedicated a decent portion of the film to just displaying the sheer "power" of Superman. Because that's practically half of the equation right there. That was the appeal for all of us. That's what always separates Superman from the rest.

It's like sometimes we forget what type of movies these are. I am so f'n giddy that this movie sounds like it's strong on the character stuff in the beginning and then just flat out onslaughts you with raw power. The more and more I hear about this movie, the more and more it sounds like the perfect Superman movie.

I couldn't agree more. I'm sure everyone here wants a good story , but also to relish in the moments where Superman uses his powers.

Relax, guys, tonight's the night where things will be decided.

With 62%, if the audiences love it, the worst thing that can happen is that posters here won't be able to bring up the "critically acclaimed, here's the RT score" argument. Big deal.

Whenever anyone brings up the RT score to validate their opinion I want to jump through the computer and strangle the crap out of them.

And don't think I can't.

maybe i will turn off my monitor and then use RT and you will be stuck in cyber limbo

Only a handful of directors knows how to mesh action/with good story telling (the secret is to emphasize on the story, and let the action be the by-product, but most directors goes the other way round, they plan the action, then choppily insert in some storylines.. )...

Brotherman, you're just coming off as a little tactless. You can make a point without making an enemy or making implicit allegations with your statments. For example: I am about 99.9% sure that I was aware already that SUPERMAN was a creation of myth and fantasy. Did you really think I did'nt? Now I will admit to the character being very important to me, and he has really been an influence to my way of thinking and acting, but I know it's fiction. Let's not get our capes to in a twist. Nothing that is being discussed here is worth any level of animosity.

I'm not big on checking RT because I prefer certain critics. However it's back up to 62 %.

Yeah , the story should drive the action.

It's gonna finish rotten. Maybe even under first Transformers (57%).
