The Dark Knight Rises What should the final scene of the trilogy be?

The bat signal flickers a few times and finally turns on. We see the signal shining high above Gotham.

Cut to a long shot of Gotham City, far off in the distance. We can see the signal shining high and bright above the city. We are out in the country, at an Amtrak station. A young man gazes at the far off Gotham. His eyes grow wide.

Elder Amtrak Cashier
: "Hey kid, you gonna buy a ticket or what?"

Young Man: "Yeah. Ticket to Gotham City. One way."

Elder Amtrak Cashier
: "Can I get a name?"

Young Man
: "It's Grayson. Dick Grayson."

Elder Amtrak Cashier
: *moans softly* "Mmmm. I could sure go for some di..."

Cut to black. A CHRISTOPHER NOLAN FILM.

Final scene should be Bruce (in Batman costume) at his parents grave.

Bruce crippled. A man stands far off in the distance, he is wearing red and has gold gaunlets.
;)

Gordon and Batman on a rooftop.

Gordon just got word that Joker has escaped from Arkham.

A nice nod to Heath and BB.

^^If it truly does come 'full circle' then word of a Joker escape at the end would be perfect and send me skipping down the street like a coked up Fred Astaire.

Never thought about something like that, but I guess if this series of Batman films is ending, then it would be no big deal to mention him, since we all know he can't come back anyway. Also, it fits with what Joker said at the end of TDK, that he and Batman will be doing this forever. It would be a nice little tribute.

Final scene atop GCPD:

Gordon: You saved us all once again. I'd thank you, but...

Batman: I couldn't have done it without you, Jim.

Gordon: Well...

Batman: And Catwoman.

Gordon: Is that what they're calling her?

Batman: It'll never end.

Gordon: You've really started something here. There's this new mobster in town who carries around a puppet...

Batman: And another one with a fetish for birds...and umbrellas.

Gordon: Did you hear about that freak with the ice canon?

Batman: Even better...the Alice In Wonderland nutjob.

Gordon: Ha!!! That's rich! And then the guy who leaves riddles. Kinda looks like that Coleman Reese fella now that I think about it...

Batman: Which reminds me. The Joker escaped. I suppose we'll be seeing him again soon.

Gordon: I forgot to mention... We never actually FOUND Harvey Two-Face's body... Soooo...

Batman: He'll probably be showing up too. *sigh* Escalation Jim. Man, I hate it.

Gordon: Me too Batman. Me too...

THE END

I love that! That implied even if the franchised ends, the story continues...

Too bad we have Nolan words that he's going to end this for good :csad:

^ I don't think that ending would contradict what Nolan has said.

He said he's not going to "blow up the balloon"

That would be leading into something else happening and bracing for it.

That's not the kind of ending we're getting.

I like the idea of batman thanking gordan. Maybe not just for saving him but reminding him that Gotham needs him.

There is no stopping bane. I think a theme of the movies is escalation. A villain that uses tech, doesn't stop, has excellent training, and is smart, sounds like anti batman.

Hmm, could the film just end with batman turning himself in, it is foreshadowed, by dent saying one day he would have to answer to the citizens of gotham. That definitely wouldn't blow up the balloon.

I personally only see one way of stopping bane, killing him, but idk as i have not read the script.

The people of Gotham dictate what Batman does.

Them hating him for murder is a punishment.

Much like how the 89 movie ended, only zooming in for a closeup. Then we see an aged Bats, grittin his teeth. Then he soars of into the darkness of the streets.

These all seem very fan-driven...

But parents grave/Joker nod seems the most interesting.

Batman winning a medal/key to the city for beating Bane. Signing autographs, kissing babies, etc.
