The Dark Knight Rises What should the final scene of the trilogy be?

As I said before this will be the end and Bruce will have made the ultimate sacrifice.
A fitting end would be
exterior shot : a bright sunny day in downtown Gotham.
an unveiling ceremony/grand opening of the Wayne home for boys. a dual statue of Bruce and Batman is unveiled in the front courtyard. A speech by Gordon with politicos all around telling of how Bruce gave all to the city he loved. How he left his fortune to the orphanage and the charity foundation his father started. a young orphan boy in the crowd who we met earlier in the film who had suffered a similar tragedy to Bruce has that gleam in his eye. The camera zooms in on his eye and we see the Bat logo in it. fade out....

How about a scene of the Wayne's tombstones with Bruce's tombstone next to them? Ther's talk of Batman being reinvented after TDKR. Therefore, it is assumed that Batman will "meet the grim reaper" at the end of the film. Why else would they reinvent him after TDKR?

We realize it was all a dream, as Adam West wakes up one morning. He says "awesome" and then the credits roll..

That would be the best!!!
a billion thumbs up

seriously?
the end HAS TO be the usual gordon/batman thing
only street level... "thanks again" "fuggetaboutit" (you pick who says what)

ahhh, but it will be seen in an upshot through a sewer grate
the sound of splashy footsteps
and nasty cracked scaly looking hands will grab the bars of the grate
and we'll here a really nasty growl

why?
because I BELIEVE IN WAYLON JONES

I want Batman to fake his death but Bruce lives .
He and Selena by his side lead an underground movement with possibly ex L.O.S members .

To me that is perfect

Bane is beaten after a lengthy battle, leaving an injured Bruce in a wheelchair. Alfred covers up his injuries with a semi-humorous story about Bruce and learning hockey, or some other potentially vigorous sport.

Talia Al Ghul, sent to spy on the condition of Gotham as board member Miranda Tate, is impressed with Batman and what he has done for his city, and reports to her father that there is no longer a need for the destruction of Gotham as Gotham's condition has stabilized. Her father in turn, also develops a certain degree of admiration for the Dark Knight, and leaves Gotham in peace.

During the end battle, Bruce finds out Catwoman's true identity when she drops in at the last moment to save him from Bane. It is the identity of Selina Kyle, with whom he might have developed feelings towards somewhere mid movie. She realises at that moment that her cover is blown. So she tells Batman farewell, knowing that he can't follow her due to his injuries, and not to look for her. He acknowledges this himself, knowing that if he did find her, he would have to arrest her for several criminal charges.

So back to that scene with Bruce in the wheel chair, and a note from Commissioner Gordon, thanking him for all he had done for Gotham. And to add to that, a pat on the back from Alfred with a little light humor like, "So now that Gotham's streets are finally safe for the moment, perhaps Batman might enjoy taking a well deserved vacation from crime fighting."

And Bruce says something like, "Perhaps... just for a little while." Although his eyes drift to something Selina had left behind.

Cut to a final scene of Catwoman on a rooftop somewhere, all alone and staring at the batsignal - giving homage to that last awesome scene in Batman Returns.

I rather Batman die than end up in a wheelchair .... Horrible endng in my view . If your going to go all out out than kill him . This wheel chair ending seems like a cop out , and Ras being alive is nearly as bad at the retcon on Spiderman 3 with the uncle and Sandman . No thank you

We don't know what the studio's plans are for Batman post-Nolan. I don't think he can make the decision of killing off the character without the approval of studio execs, and most likely the decision will be no. Firstly because of what a big household name Batman is, secondly, what does that say to kids who're watching, thirdly, nobody's confirmed this is the end of the franchise. The wise thing to do is to leave the ending open ended.

If your going to go all out out than kill him.
The idea wasn't to go all out. Comic fans are going to expect some aspect of Knightfall in this movie, and I think the wheelchair symbolizes the danger he was in. Personally I feel that it would not have the impact that it could if he escaped once again, fully functional. Bane is a much more brutal opponent imho, it would be near impossible to escape an encounter with him without so much as a scratch. But instead of having his back broken, it could be something as simple as a fracture that would heal in time. By putting him in a wheelchair, Nolan would be satisfying Knightfall fans, AND keeping the option of a possible 4th movie open.

Ras being alive is nearly as bad at the retcon on Spiderman 3 with the uncle and Sandman . No thank you
I wouldn't mind either way, but honestly I believe Nolan is already going in the direction of Ra's being alive with Liam Neeson recast in the sequel. In another thread I mentioned how bad an idea it'd be to have Selina and Talia in the same movie, but I'm working with an IF all these characters are in it, how it might work best, and end most preferably for fans and general continuity.

The final scene? haha i bet non of us will know.

But if i had to choose i say.
-------------------------

Bane will get killed and Batman will get respect for what he does for the citizens of Gotham.Batman will always remember bane because he was the mirror of what Batman
could have been if he had listened to Ra's.And he never wants to be like bane or ra's.

It'd be awesome if Nolan could pull something like that off.

Long pan down an Arkham Asylum hallway and then a close-up of Two-Face in a cell flipping his coin.

Nolan said this is the conclusion to the story he was trying to tell. Which could just mean of Bruce Wayne becoming Batman and getting acceptance from Gotham. Nolan can easily pick up the Batman series again with a fourth movie. He could simply call it "The Batman"...

A beautiful ending to this Batman would be like how Detective Comics ended it's run. The whole thing was pitch perfect, and very inkeeping with the Nolan universe.

batman standing at the halfway point of an empty bridge at night, looking out over the city he saved. the sound of a knife blade coming out. someone wearing a purple jacket steps in front of the camera. we catch a glimpse of the person's purple glove holding a knife, the jacket, and a head full of messy green hair as batman turns to notice. cut to black. "let's put a smile on that face."

credits roll.

I honestly don't think Batman will die, because it just doesn't add up to the title...BUT, if Bats does end up biting the bullet so to speak...

I would want this ending. It sounds phenomenal, imo.

And then the Batman Forever theme music kicks in! :awesome:

If this happened I think I would pretty much lose it in the theater and pass out for shock and awe. It would be incredible.

After everyone is defeated and it seems like it's the end of the movie, word breaks that the Joker has escaped from Arkham. To echo his words "we're gonna do this forever".
