The James Bond franchise has died
What? Died? What do you mean? Are they not coming out with another film?

Yes, it is. I assume he meant the pre-CR Bond films. If so, I agree with him. Everything between GE and CR was TV level drivel.

No it hasn't 'died'. CR and QOS are still part of the franchise despite being a reboot. So the franchise is still very much alive. Bond 23 comes out Nov. 9 2012.
I really like the idea of The Joker being involved or mentioned in the ending, but I'm torn about it being in.
On one end, it would seem so completely fitting. Batman's job is never done and he will continue fighting for Gotham....and using the Joker to convey that would be the most effective route. Not hint at a new villain or hint at Robin, that's throwing too much into the mix. Bring the entire story full circle. It ends 'the story of Nolan's world but Batmans story is never-ending. "Destined to this forever" as a man..err..clown...once said.
On the other end, a true "door closer" ending with a Gordon speech and epic shot of Batman would also be fitting.
Come to think of it, a combination of those two is what I want.
As for point one, I kinda new that Catwoman would be in TDKR the day after I saw TDK. With the series' main love interest in the ground, someone would have to take up the mantle. You can't ignore the Joker.
The one thing that disappoints me (so far) in this production is how predictable everything seems to be. The whole motto of TDK was "Welcome to a world without rules," yet this new film is strangely going by the numbers. Unless I'm completely wrong, it's almost obnoxiously easy to determine how this movie plays out.
- Years ago, literally, people just assumed that Catwoman would be the next villain. And this was easy to deduce because if it's a Nolan trilogy, and he's already used the heavy hitters like Joker and Two-Face, it's obvious that Catwoman would be next. Joker, Two-Face, and Catwoman are THE three top Batman villains, right above The Riddler, whom Nolan confirmed wouldn't be in the film. So right off the bat, this was predictable. Only Bane was kind of out of left field.
- We guessed that there would be a Batwing... and again, we were right. After the Tumbler and Bat-Pod, the only way to raise the stakes would be with an aerial vehicle.
- And now, with talk of things coming "full circle," it's totally obvious that there will be a nod to the Joker at the end of this film. Repeating Batman Begins, Batman and Gordon will be at the top of Police headquarters, and Gordon will mention that the Joker has escaped from Arkham. This shows that the Batman/Joker relationship will continue, and that Batman's work will never be over.
And to anyone who really thinks that
... get real.Batman will die![]()

I think there will be something. Joker's laughing face from the Brian Douglas interrogation re-appearing on the Batcave monitors perhaps. You know, Bruce saying something like "I'm glad that madman is behind bars, what a mess he caused" or something along those lines. It's not needed, but it would be a nice touch.I'm pretty sure there'll be a nice little reference to the Joker.

I just hope the reference to the Joker isn't limited to something along the lines of a line like "well after the destruction that crazed clown caused..." or something just muttered off like that.
