The Dark Knight Rises Why is everyone slamming TDKR?

Quote from Jonah in a recent Empire interview:

"One of my favourite scenes is when John tells Bruce how he knew he was Batman. It’s like that scene in The Prestige where the little kid sees through Christian’s trick. Little kids, they don’t have any illusions, they just see the truth of the situation. I feel there’s a kind of spiritual connection between the two movies there."

Adding to the kids seeing the truth: that orphan that first made that Batman symbol with the chalk, it shows how the kids still believed in this character.

I will let you know if I find about anything with Ra's showing up in the future

Thanks dude :woot:

Ahh yes, now I remember. Thanks for refreshing my memory. As someone in the minority (as far as I can tell anyway) that actually didn't mind Blake's explanation to Bruce, I thought that was a nice way of thinking of it. Not to open that can of worms again lol.

I wouldn't have minded a new suit at all though, but since it didn't happen, I just look past Bale's face because it's not the guy's fault at all, haha.

I guess a new suit is never made because it sticks with this modern day knight idea that Nolan has of his Batman though. But, I'm still on the boat on wishing Bruce brought out a new suit once he returned to Gotham City the second time(Bane should've broke his one and only suit of the TDK suit, imo).

If I were to pinpoint my hypothetical reaction to such an occurrence, this would be it:

That's one thing you won't see me complain about. I loved it. And I know it isn't bogus, because I've experienced that sort of thing, from both ends.

Like we were agreeing on before, never underestimate the intuition or intelligence of kids.

Also @ Anno, they could have still kept a 'knight' look. Just a differently styled knight!

Possibly. I remember that idea of a new suit keeping in line of the 'knight' attire, but it had a more military-oriented color to it. I always liked that idea from whoever thought of it.

You mean like camouflage patterned grey/black tones?

Or like.. green and brown Batman?

I think it was the grey/black tones similar to the military green and brown. I can't even find it on Google anymore though.

All this negativity... it ruins my enjoyment in watching the films. I wonder if those who doesn't feel right with the film has a checklist with them on what the character should do and if just one in the list wasn't ticked the film will be deemed as a failure right away.

People whine about the bat-voice being used around those that know he's Batman. I re-watched TDK the other night and he does it when he sleeper holds Harvey and he's not even in costume. I actually love it. It's like it takes him over.

I love that.

Ruins your enjoyment ? C'mon man that's extreme. Its always the same users here over and over who like to talk about the movie like vitriol. Just brush them off.

Why? My enjoyment of any movie is not effected one iota by the like or dislike of it by others. I love many movies that others hate, and hate many that others love.

I wonder if those who doesn't feel right with the film has a checklist with them on what the character should do and if just one in the list wasn't ticked the film will be deemed as a failure right away.
I can't speak for others, but in my case, no. I, like most others, have things I want or don't want to see or have happen in any movie. But I don't immediately write them off as a failure if one of those things don't happen. I did not like TDKR for multiple reasons....and I have expressed those reasons in other posts, not just showing up in the forums and saying I don't like it with no explanation.

And....it is the same users who over and over talk about it like it is the second coming of Christ. It's a two way street.

Yeah...imagine people like to talk about what they enjoy constantly. What a crazy world , right ? !

You're taking other people's views extremely personal if it ruins your enjoyment of TDKR, and that's being as bad as a bandwagon fan that jumps ship when everyone else does. I even have my personal nitpicks(yes, a few), but I still love TDKR to this day.

:lmao:

You seriously think that needs to happen or going to with a CBM?

If so, I will never be able to give my displeasure of TAS-M anymore.

You really really need to read more of my posts....because you really do not understand what I am saying at all.

I spend ALL of my time telling people to respect and listen to other people's opinions. I spend ALL my time telling people not to troll or start fights. That means...as long as people are being respectful and civil, they can talk for or against anything they want to.

I am not going into every thread in the Batforums spouting hatred of TDKR. I am in a the thread Why is everyone slamming TDKR? and politely and civilly expressing my opinion without harassing or attacking those who have a different one. I have repeatedly said that if someone likes the movie, that is great. I like for people to like comic related movies. I am not trying to convert people to my view. But when someone who loves the movies asks "How can someone not like it?"...I try and give them my reasons for it.

So....how am I stopping you or anyone else from talking about a movie they love?

You only need to read my last , because in my reply i didn't said anything that you're trying to remotely imply , nor i have any idea why you tried to be confrontational to my post (much less i spoke about you).

I just told him , if you dont like them , brush them off. Its just a bunch of them. Then you came............

So....why are you making a big fuss ?

If anything , your questions should be directed to the other user , not me. Off course you understood clearly the absurdity that was comparing people talking about what they enjoy vs disdain. Your comparison. Not mine.

I will say it again, because TDKR is not as good as TDK, fans will pick it to death even if it is at the very least a good film (I think it's a great one). Further, because the series is over, they will destroy it even more to psyche themselves up for yet another reboot.

If one gets out of the obsessive fan sites, they will find massive critical and audience approval of the movie.

First off....responding to a post isn't being confrontational. It's pointing out that there is a reverse side to your post.

The bolded part above... that was what I was saying back to you. You don't explain yourself or position, just complain that people dare say they didn't enjoy the movie....as if there is something wrong with them for doing so....so maybe you should just brush it off and not get annoyed when someone civilly says they did not enjoy the movie you did. If you like, I can post a list of movies I love, and you can choose one and civilly explain why you hate it. I won't get upset that you do (as long as you are civil).

I am making no big fuss at all (didn't even consider it a little fuss)...I was just commenting in a discussion thread on a discussion forum.

And if you noticed....I did originally address more than just you.

But ...it was him who wrote in this board that "All this negativity... it ruins my enjoyment in watching the films.". Not me. I just gave him an advice. If that happens , then just brush them off , its only a few of them.

Everything else you have been writing (outside of the comparison you tried to make) i agree. I said that in the first post. That was an extreme attitude , not enjoying because of what someone else said.

He starts to slip into it when he makes his return and is talking to 'Miranda' and Lucius about getting back in the game.

Sounds a lot better without the TDK cowl on.

I think Batman Begins if my fave and Rachel was soooo cute!

And man! TDKR was not what I expected at all.

I'm more than positive there's a reason he does the Bat voice when he's giving the Bat-pod to Selina too, like he's letting the "monster" take over just as he did when he put Dent to sleep in TDK.

He's using his regular voice while in the cowl to Blake after he saves him and his voice is a mixture of Batman and of Bruce when he notices Selina left him up on that building all alone, lol.
