The Dark Knight Rises Worst character of the trilogy?

Quoting my post to say that I'm changing my vote to Tatelia. After much thinking, I've concluded that she's worse than Rachel.

We have officially entered the Twilight Zone :wow:

I agree with this.

Its 'Miranda Tate'. Hands down. What a ****ing waste of both a great comic book character and a great actress. Although, yeah, her last scene was painfully bad but I don't think that was totally her fault.

Miranda Tate, easily. The Rottweilers in TDK had more of a memorable impact on me than she did.

Miranda unfortunately. At least Rachel had a long lasting affect on Bruce Talia just an "oh so you aren't Miranda" moment. The reveal came far too late and although it may have surprised the general audience it was very unfortunate for the people who followed the film.

Revealed - 3 minute chase - dead.

I didn't mind Foley, just because he lead the charge in the battle for gotham :D

I've never had a problem with Foley or Talia. Foley might be annoying indeed, but him getting inspired by Batman was really cool actually. I think that many people are confusing this thread with "The most annoying character of the trilogy".
Talia was vital to the plot of TDKR and although her death scene was indeed very bad, I think her character was very well written. I mean to me she will always feel like Bane's henchman and not the other way around. She tied up the loosed ends into a pretty neat story.
Rachel... hm, I've never really had that big of a problem with Katie Holmes. In my eyes Maggie Gyllenhaal is much worse than her in both presense and looks. She isn't likeable at all. She looks as if she is on her period throughout the entire TDK. As a concept I really like Rachel's character and if cast otherwise maybe most of you would've liked her as well. None of the actresses actually had chemistry with Bale's Bruce Wayne.
As I said, it's really tricky not to put the most annoying characters in the "worst" category.
I didn't dislike Foley, nor Talia and Blake was actually quite good imo.
Hm.. maybe Loeb in BB... but no, he wasn't bad... he was just annoying as hell.
Hhm... I've always had some problem with Two-Face... as a Harvey Dent he was great but as Two-Face... there was something in his story I just couldn't buy... and maybe the scene where he shoots the driver of a mob boss and the car turns around while he's still inside. It's a bit hazy now so I will refrain from setting things in stone until I see TDK one more time.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say TDK Rachel, she just had a horrible attitude towards Bruce IMO and almost chooses Harvey over him to spite Bruce for his inaction at the press conference, even Holmes' Rachel was more likeable.

Re: Foley, I didn't mind him, he served a purpose as the opposite to Gordon and Blake, someone who didn't find it easy to put it all on the line and be the hero.

Yeah, I'm not a HUGE Foley fan. However, I did like the fact that Gordon said he wasn't asking him "to walk down Grand in your dress blues", but sure enough he does. I thought it was a nice touch.

I'll say it again: Jen, or Holly, or whoever the hell she was. I understood her appearance, but I felt she was a throwaway and her role could have been unnoticed if it was deleted from the film.

full circle should of never happened with this trilogy

I tend to agree with this! My overwhelming feeling when i saw my first viewing was "Woah the fanboys guessed the movie that Nolan gave us" when with TDK he completely shocked us. Having the league of shadows and Rhas involved again makes TDKR less unique and stand alone than it could have been had Bane been the head of his own sect of extremist terrorists and that storyline had nothing to do with Begins.

The only full circle things should have been Bruce's journey's themes which were all handled beautifully!

We saw the videos of location shoot, photos of Collitard with armed gunmen and Nolan himself stated in some interviews that he was going to end the trilogy, that leaves little suspense for the Bat-fans, as most could guess where the story was heading.

I hate this guy. He was such a coward when he approached Mr. Earle about that stolen microwave emitter, as if Mr. Earle owned Wayne Enterprises. Be a man, you had nothing to do with it, someone else stole it, and here you are scared as hell approaching Earle.

The worst character of the trilogy has to be Ramirez.

And most annoying character has to be Sal Maroni.

Jen (or Holly) was representing the poor, underprivileged class of Gotham citizens who have to steal in order to live.

I'm very well aware of her intentions and know the inspiration of the character; but to me, she felt a little underused to me. It's not a major nitpick by any means, it's nice to see she landed some kind of role; but if I were given the chance to drop her and see more of Selina's character in the film, in terms of seeing more of the underprivileged and lower class and how she reacts, then I would be on that boat.

That and it would certainly make TDKR a more superior film if it dealt with the troubles of Gotham such the lower class suffering to the degree of steeling and how they reacted to Bane's take over of Gotham.

This thread is hilarious so I had to comment.

BB:

1st place.

The micro-wave emitter guy. "Sir, I'm reluctant and terrified to inform you that something was stolen from a division of this company that I am not responsible for. Please don't hurt me, as this does not reflect upon my character or my ability to work here" This is a paraphrase obviously. Seriously, this scene feels like its from the 60's Adam West Batman. Watch it, it's hilarious.

2nd place.

The lady who introduces the fake "Ra's" to Bruce at his birthday party. "Bruce, this asian guy who is really kinda scary looking and doesn't speak much english wants me to introduce you to him, so im going to pretend like you and I have the kind of relationship that will allow me to introduce endearing strangers to you, who I don't know personally or have any reason to be excited about introducing you to, and then as soon as I introduce you and you lose immediate interest, I'll just escort away" So silly.

TDK

1st place.

Gamble. No one else mentioned him so I will. I'm supposed to believe this guy is a respected and feared mob boss leader with a purse millions of dollars deep, yet he acts like a stereo-typical black-thug, "ENOUGH FROM THE CLOWN!!!", look who is talking.

2nd place.

The fat dude with the bomb in his stomach. "The boss said he'd replace the voices with pretty lights, like christmas". Uh huh. It wasn't the line, it was the delivery. I get what they were going for. They missed.

TDKR:

1st place.

"You're pure evil" the dude says to Bane before getting his neck snapped. Ugh. Corny.

2nd place.

Talia's death was definitely a low point in the series.

I agree. Bringing back the LOS was a huge mistake. We could have been spared the Tate/Talia character altogether.

Doctor Who, I can't help but read your posts with Liam Neeson's voice. Please write something epic :P

I really can't understand why you all hate Talia. I felt that the connection between Rises and Begins was one of the coolest things. She tied the story pretty neatly and Bane fits perfectly there.

I don't know about the others, but I agree that bringing back full circle was a great thing to do and for that to happen Talia had to be included.

I an happy that we finally got Talia in a Batman movie.
