The Dark Knight Rises Worst character of the trilogy?

Hands down for me it's Talia. Wanted more got a whole lot less.

Too violent man. My brother was asking why it was cut the way it was and I thought it was pretty self-explanatory. While the movie did have a lot of gun violence, showing him directly getting hit by (what I'm assuming is) a .50 Cal type of weapon mount on the Tumbler ain't gonna cut it. Heh. They could have worked some camera magic but I'm not surprised they didn't show any of the gunfire hitting him. I think the fact that he was dead instantly on the ground makes it seem awkward, not to mention his pose.

Eventhough he was supposed to be run over as seen in set pics, the film suggested he was shot yet he didn't have a single gunshot on his body. You'd imagine he was blown to smithereens with the Tumbler gun yet not a single bloody hole in his suit.

The problem with Rachel was that she wasn't very likeable for her role in the plot. I had trouble believing that Bruce Wayne could fall in love with her as much as he did. This mostly comes down to the first film, as they don't really interact that much in TDK. I actually do really like the Rachel/Dent relationship, and plotwise there is good reason that Rachel chooses Dent over Wayne. Katie Holmes was just a disaster though.

It would be like in Casino Royale, Vesper Lynd was written the same but she was played by Denise Richards instead of Eva Green. It just wouldn't work, and in Batman Begins it doesn't and since it is such a crucial role it ends up affecting the sequels too even though Holmes was long gone.

All the hate for Foley doesn't make sense to me. He wasn't bad in it at all. But he wasn't a main character. He was just depth. To have a feeling about his character one way or the other is just strange to me.

I thought Foley was fine. To me, his character showed what possibly happened to Gotham's normal citizens during this entire ordeal. True some were looting and taking advantage of Bane's 'revolution' by pillaging the wealth of a few. But people complain about the streets looking empty in winter, and I think that's the point. Normal, average citizens were hunkered down in their homes surviving on what little food they had, hoping for the storm to pass over. Foley is initially against Batman and hopes to take him down, but when hearing the truth from the steps of City Hall and seeing the burning symbol is inspired by Batman's return and because of that decides to help take back the city. It also helped to show that their were many good cops willing to make sacrifices to rid the city of evil.

On the main topic, the worst character for me will always be Rachel.

Also the lady who introduces Bruce to Ra's. She seemed like a remnant of the Schumacher era Batman.

I always hated that lady. She introduces Bruce to the fake Ra's and then Liam Neeson shows up and Bruce/Real Ra's start their big showdown, you can see the lady and fake Ra's walking away in the background. Why is she just walking off after she was the one who wanted Bruce to meet him in the first place? It never made sense to me.

Urm what was the point of Mathew Modine's character?

He seemed pointless.

That's because he was. There was no Deputy Commissioner in BB and TDK and then all of a sudden some position pops up out of nowhere in TDKR. THEN....Foley is as minor as Detective Stephens.

Ramirez, Foley and Crane after BATMAN BEGINS.

Oh I agree. I'll defend these films and their accuracy to the comics till the day I die. I still think Rises was accurate as well, right down to the combination of the numerous GN stories such as Knightfall, No Mans Land and The Dark Knight Returns.

We have to remember that this Bruce Wayne never wanted to be Batman forever. So the thought of him being happy and away from Batman doesn't seem so far fetched.

Regarding Selina, I can see why you don't think they had much of a relationship. I agree on some parts, but I still think they worked well together and were convincing enough.

Also it's pretty obvious he'll comeback to save the day if Blake & Gordon face someone they can't stop. :yay:

I prefer Rachel than Chechen any day of the week.

I was not too crazy about Talia. At the end of the movie, when she comes out, I wanted her to be wearing the traditional Talia outfit from the comic books

That would have been kind of funny. Selina and Talia mad at each other for picking the same outfit.

Worst character-Talia. Totally pointless and undeveloped. Take her out the movie and Bane works just as well by himself.

Tom Wilkinson as Falcone. His performance was too over-the-top. Takes me right out of the movie.

Surely you jest!
I loved Tom Wilkinson in that role.
He's awesome... you know how many times I've crowbar'd those lines into meetings & everyday conversation?

"..Now you think.... Because your Mommy... and your Daddy got shotttt...
you know about the ugly side of life but you don't"

"You're Bruce Wayne the prince of GOtham, You'd have to go a thousand miles to meet somebody who didn't know your name so..."

(wait for it.....)

"Don't come down here with your AYNGAHHHH????"
"Trying to... Prove SUMN to YAHSELFFFF?"

"Cause this is a world you don't understand.... and you always FEAYAHHH.."
"what you don't understand...."

excellent read, expressions, body language, He even got the Greasy mobster mannerism down, and his quip about "Fear" was in some way essential to Bruce's journey.

don't forget that he left Gotham after his encounter with him, and he's one of the first ones he took down upon his return

(counting the occasional thug \ mobster)

I Believe in Carmine Falcone.

What was so bad about Chechen? I could hardly understand a word he was saying, but other than that he seemed like a pretty cool mobster.

"You officially have no life."

This pretty much confirms my fears..
Thanks for the moment of clarity

Rachel
Tatelia

Quoting my post to say that I'm changing my vote to Tatelia. After much thinking, I've concluded that she's worse than Rachel.
