I believe in it. The original actor were extremely expensive. And the way they tried to put all of them together in the movie didnt help..
In this movie the cast costed half of the movie before. And looks like some effects need some more polishment, its true ( but i loveed the movie)

Wonder if the budget got slashed during post production, hence the dodgy trailer effects?

Do you guys know a site that updates the box office numbers daily? For the international market I mean.

I'm curious to know how the movie did on Monday.

BOM usually has a Tuesday update, so I'm surprised nothing was reported today.

No, they hadn't finished the effects at the time the trailers were done.

It's been a busy time for FX houses with all these CGI-heavy superhero/fantasy/sci-fi flicks coming out one on top of the other, and in any case the SFX are often not completed until right before release. Days before release, sometimes.

I'm aware. I also haven't seen the movie so maybe the CGI is flawless. Idk... Hahaa

Fox is officially reporting the budget at 178 million. Lol...

After tax rebates I'm guessing or not? The X films love filming in Vancouver for some reason.

People always mistake Montreal for Vancouver. lol

X-men was filmed in Toronto.
X2 and X3 in Vancouver. You're correct there.
DOFP and Apocalypse were both in Montreal.

Maybe you meant Canada. ;)

*Deadpool was Vancouver though but that was mostly because Ryan is from here.

750 million dollars WW and I'm happy. :mnm:

Source? :) Actually doesn't sound that unrealistic. This new cast should be a lot cheaper and most of the effect heavy shots are in the Quicksilver scene and the final battle. That's 56 mil less than the reported 234 though.
Edit: Ah on Rotten Tomatoes.

Because it is very unlikely to hit 750 mil WW.

SCREAM at that pretend budget. This, like any other superhero tentpole this summer, did not come in below $200 million.

178 million? I guess the OT casts salaries were far more of an expense than I ever thought. Now that actually makes 700 million not that bad of a bo return.

Wikipedia (sourced from Business Insider) has reported the budget at $234 m. I find it weird that they'd spend more than DOFP, but that's what Business Insider is reporting.

I can see how it is below DOFP myself, there was a lot of destruction at the end but the Sentinals in DOFP were not cheap and they had both the past and future ones in the finale.

In there finale of Apoc there seemed to be plenty of practical work to go with the CGI and of course then there is paying for the original cast which this movie didn't have to do.

I remember during DoFP filming and press they said that the cast salaries were at least a quarter of the budget. The budget was $225 million. So a quarter of that is just over $50 million. I think Hugh, Jen, Michael, James and Nick would've eaten most of that. And I'm sure Halle, Ian, Patrick, Anna and Ellen all got massive pay days for their very small parts. And also Peter Dinklage would've got a nice sum of money for his role too coming off of the success of Game of Thrones. So if you take out actors budgets DoFP and Apocalypse could be very similar budgets wise.

So I have one of those AMC theaters with the lounge seats. So the maximum occupancy is approximately 179 seats.

For The Force Awakens, I had to go 45 min across the state to watch it on the Thursday night before it opened. The one near me was essentially sold out except for 1 or 2 seats really up in the front. That was almost a month out and for a 10:15 PM show.

For BvS, I bought the tickets a week out and we had to see the 11:45 PM show for the Thursday before.

For CW, I bought tickets almost a month out and for the 8:30 show, we got the only two regular seats in the back between the handicap seats.

I just got tickets for Apocalypse, plenty of seats available for the Friday show.

Do studios often lie about a movie's budget?

Budgets and expenses are these magical things that can be moved around. The numbers they give you can be 100% true, but not the whole truth. I think I read Dead Man's Chest was still costing Disney money last year. Generally, it is best to see how the studio responds after a movie is released to see how happy they were with the results.

Because early international numbers indicate a lower gross overseas than DOFP.
650 would be a GOOD number now.

Not necessarily. It is down in some markets, but doing better in others. So, much like the reviews, mixed. They key markets are coming up, so who knows what will happen.

X-Men will beat Alice!

Conservative projections have Apocalypse in the low $80M range, but many analysts think it has a shot at $100M. Two years ago, propped by a critical score of 91%, X-Men: Days of Future Past made $110.6M over FSSM and became the second highest grossing X-Men movie with a domestic B.O. of $233.9M. I hear Apocalypse is tracking close to Days of Future Past with guys being the strongest quad, however, this time
