I don't get the hate, people love to hate. It is so early to hate it is unreal. We at this point know Nothing!

My prediction of the general plot of the movie is: characters start out separated from each other, are forced to get back together to fight the villain.

By now Erik, Charles, and Mystique all will have their own agenda and being doing their own thing. Mystique may have her own team, even possibly working for the government. Charles will be at his school. And Erik will have his own thing going on too, my hope is that it involves Genosha.

Apocalypse will appear on the scene, some characters will join his cause, some will be opposed, and some will be be unsure of which way to go.

Some crazy stuff will go down, there will be mass destruction. Charles, Erik, and Mystique will reluctantly have to get back together and with their allies fight Apocalypse.

So pretty much eveything I've previously speculated.:shr:

Came here to talk about Bryan Singer having a script to review and casting, and all I see here is people decrying a film that hasn't even started filming yet... And after the phenomenon that was DOFP... What gives SHH? Let's see some love!

well, it depends how much of a "phenomenon" one believes DOFP was....

Fallout from Fantastic Four.

We're like teenage girls, we love drama.

Fallout from Fantastic Four.

Nope. Some would bash In X-men forum no matter what.

It will be like past X films.A few will be postive.Others find reasons to complain. Then after trailer or release many change their tune and act like
they were always postive.

Same with pretty much every forum when people are not too sure on ideas or it's not what they want to hear. People got stoked when Apocalypse was announced, likewise with the cast announcement for DOFP and the title announcement itself. It's not hard to understand what announcements or rumors will get fans stoked.

If the news or rumor was Cyclops and Jean romance to be the main focus instead, this board would have lit up with positivity. Cause it's what fans are hoping and been waiting for. Just the way it is.

I come here for a reprieve from the Fan4 thread...that's a scary thread lol.

Personally, I can't wait for Apocalypse. Keep waiting for the next Singer tweet :D.

You should just stay out of that thread. To keep myself calm and not get into arguements when all the X-Men films are bashed along with FF reboot I am staying out of there.

It should only be a matter of time before some announcements are made for Apocalypse. There have a working version of script since Bryan Singer has it with him on plane:yay: and casting is In full swing.

If your fan of X-Men films it's far safer to go Into DC films threads If you want to go into non-X-Men threads.

We need to see who is cast before coming to a definitive conclusion. If they go with three complete unknowns, that means one of two things: they are thinking long term franchise material OR they are going to be throwaway characters and fan service. There won't be a middle ground in that scenario. So let's see how it plays out. I would bet it's going to be fan service, but that doesn't surprise me. I think Fox knows they have to get the four FC actors resigned for another 2-3 more films anyway, but they know they need to think about a future without the FC cast. Both scenarios have to be contemplated going into planning for Apocalypse.

The important thing is that they cast good actors who are right for the role. X-Men is now going to bring audiences regardless. I'm sure Fox realizes they are in a great position as of now with the franchise and how much they have to work with as far as unused potential with main characters for the future.

They didn't wipe the slate to end it. Scott, Jean and Ororo are required at this point. I don't see how they can be added only for fan service. If the were not around in the 80s, then someone made a huge mistake. They need to be there.

It is the natural next step in the series since Wolverine made Xavier promise in DOFP to find them.

Yup. That and we know they for a fact they are the main members of the X-Men team. If they all didn't become members till the 90s or after that would be a bit odd and delaying the inevitable.

Funny, I thought those characters would've been 'required' to be DOFP (or any X-Men movie), but they weren't really to any extent. For that matter, those characters have been little more than set dressing to an extent in all of the Singer directed films. There is no reason to think that Apocalypse will be any different.

I don't see how a throw away line in a film series that's rife with plot holes and continuity errors should be held with any weight. Especially when Fox has to make sure their poster girl is front and center.

Based on what? Their extensive roles of being dead in the original storyline?

The X-Men fighting Apocalypse for the first time without Cyclops would feel incomplete to me.

I don't understand why people i worried for Jean Grey .
I can understand for Cyclop but say Fox and Singer didn't care for Jean is extreme. It is like X3 was so mediocre people forgot all good with Jean in X1/X2.

After Wolverine, Famke Janssen was the female lead like Jennifer Lawrence today.
I remember when X2 was in theatre, the buzz was for Jean and her sacrifice ( she saved the team lol:funny: ).
Beside, Jean can have the Phoenix power in XA and she is maybe the only mutant can kill him .

Other thing, i didn't like Halle Berry Storm but she was everywhere in the marketing, everywhere .

Except that Jean and Cykes are both dead in the original DOFP storyline and the future mutants storyline is merely a bookend.

I still don't understand why anyone thought the OT cast were going to be major players in DOFP when the source material is the complete opposite of that.

That definitely caught my eye as well since everyone was so sure she would leave without any questions. If Fox snags her with a great contract again the Mystique spin-off(s) talked about months back could certainly be a reality! Exciting!

They'd be dumb to let Lawrence and Fassbender go without putting up more money.

Agreed, that was definitely the most interesting part of the article. Does renegotiating her contract definitively mean that it will include additional films though? Or could it just mean shes demanding more money for Apocalypse? (Which she would deserve).

Assuming it will add more movies to her deal, I can't say I'm too surprised. Fox would have to be INSANE not to do whatever they have to to get Lawrence back on board, whether that means dumptrucks full of money on her doorstep or what. I'm assuming they did that, and if you're Lawrence and/or her team, there are worse deals than X-Men for her "blockbuster every other year". The Hunger Games is done now; eventually they'd pressure her to sign up for another one anyways, so why not stick with X-Men? I guarantee you she filmed less on DOFP than she does on Hunger Games, or would if she was Captain Marvel or whoever. To me, X-Men would seem more "actor friendly" since its an ensemble and no one is in every scene and working 24/7.

At the end of DoFP we get Wolverine waking up in the X-mansion and seeing all the actual X-Men are there, in their classic looks, for the first and last time. How f'n awesome would it be if that was the cast that took on Apocalypse in the next film? But no, we're going back to the past again.

This, so so much. Oh what could have been.

She's already contracted to do Apocalypse - McAvoy, Hoult, Lawrence and Fassbender all signed three picture movie deals when they did First Class. So renegotiations would be for additional movies after Apocalypse is done.

I keep coming in here thinking we got news.
