They're all better than Cavill. At least they bring some personality and emotional range to the role.

Again... confined by WB's love of Nolan's po-faced take on the characters and Snyder's complete ineptitude.

He has what it takes. With the right script and the right director, he can still do something with the role.

I don't think much of Cavill either, but I have only seen him in MOS and BVS. I heard he was good in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. though.

Coulda, woulda.......didn't. Can only judge by what we got, not what might have been.

Im honestly tired of even thinking about Superman as a character, nevermind the actors that have portrayed him.

I've been rewatching Superman: TAS lately. By far my favourite version of the character and so refreshing after BvS.

Spider-Man 2 is like the perfect antidote to BvS. If you see you self being appalled by BvS' depiction of superhero morality, watch Spider-Man 2; the Aunt May "there is a hero in all of us" scene in particular.

I need to finish watching STAS. I started rewatching it for the first time in years for my tumblr blog and I think I stopped at the Batman/Superman crossover episodes.

I started watching the first couple of episodes of S:TAS right after BvS as a palate cleanser. But now i'm just so sick of the character. Thanks Snyder. Thanks Jaxon, good buddy.

Also, i'm in a X-Men mood after seeing Apocalypse. I genuinely enjoyed that movie even though it has problems. I'm looking forward to digging back into the X-Men animated series and rewatching First Class and i have a confession to make: i haven't seen the Days of Future Past director's cut yet! Is it necessary? Better? Do the Rogue scenes interfere with the flow?

I know i was dissing First Class a little bit, but it's a movie that i haven't seen in 5 years. I enjoyed it very much in the cinema but through the years my rating has gone down quite a bit just by thinking of the young crew + the villains. Maybe i'm being harsh? I was really NOT interested in the younger versions in Apocalypse but they ended up being the best part of the movie.

The underrated gem of the DCAU.

Indeed. It's the reason why I made gifs of it.

I really don't understand how DC/Warner has been able to shepherd such quality with the animated shows and movies for over twenty years and yet, outside of Nolan, they've been incapable with the live action films.

Haha yeah I'm alive guys. Thanks for noticing. :atp:

I still haven't seen Apocalypse. I've heard enough people whose opinion I trust say it's actually not that bad to make me think I'd probably enjoy it, but for some reason I just cannot find the motivation to go out and pay money to see another superhero movie right now. Possibly because I ended up seeing Civil War three times (wasn't really my choice, just got asked by 3 different friends to go on different days and I kept saying yes). But yeah, between that and BvS being a bit of a black hole for my superhero excitement, my eyes, ears and wallet need a break.

Mine too. The origin in that series is also my favorite and was told in just under an hour.

Yeah it's easily my favorite modern version of the origin outside of the comics. Could have been a great template for a different version of MOS. There's even an "after credits" sequence for Brainiac.

For those who go to the Suicide Squad forums, I am curious, do they bash Ledger at the expense of Leto?

I have seen one or two do it, but overall I would say no. Most there seem to hold him and his performance as Joker in high regard.

They used to, I think...but for the most part it's either you hate Leto because of his tats or you love him over there.

I still don't know what to make of his Joker. His performance looks both compelling and maybe because of editing or whatever, a bit like he's trying too hard. Not sure what to make of it yet.

I really think Leto is going to pull it off, tats and all.
