Speaking of Shane Black, who else cant wait to see The Nice Guys?

Speaking of Shane Black, who else cant wait to see The Nice Guys?

I got the trailer for that before BVS. I would have preferred just watching that trailer on a loop for the next two and a half hours. Not just because of how BVS was, but that movie looked fun.

I hope Basinger is not wasted in it though. From the trailer, it looks like she has a bit of a thankless role.

With Superman dead, I wonder who will save her from falling to her death in JL.
Wonder Woman

Or him, if he's not busy killing the one endangering Lois while she falls to her death.

Batman will throw both the goon and Lois through the window, then dive down to save Lois.

Anyone else think JL will be just as bad as BvS? All the rumors are pointing to WB being more involved in the film. Since when has that ever been good? I can see the film sink under the tension of Snyder and the studios both wrestling to squeeze their material in.

Or maybe studio oversight would be advantageous to Snyder. Who the **** knows.

It's being directed by Zack Snyder. Odds are it will be as bad, or maybe even worse. I don't think Snyder can handle all those characters. He couldn't even handle Batman and Superman.

Yeah I don't have high hopes for JL.

I have a feeling it will at least be visually lighter and have more jokes due to studio intervention. Not that that would make it better, but WB seems to be under the impression that's what led to Marvel's success.

Essentially it will probably look different but be just as bad quality-wise (or worse).

I don't have hopes for JL, I should probably skip it, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt and watch it.

I never had high hopes for BVS, but I at least expected it to be better than MOS. I was wrong. I do not know what to expect from JL. Surely it is not too much to expect it to be better than BVS? With Zack though, you would not put it past him to make an even worse movie.

They can't remove him or Snyder is fired from making more of his f-art?

I think it's more a bad PR thing if they remove him now after they already signed him on. Plus it would cost them a lot of money. But not as much as they'll lose with him at the helm for JL.

Expect a lot of studio interference in JL.

At this point I'd be somewhat surprised if WB isn't heading for a regime change sometime in 2018.

The current situation seems eerily similar to Sony's in 2014.

It's easier to give him a co-director (that's competent).

I went to see Everybody Wants Some!! today (great movie if you're a Linklater fan), but I had a little extra time to kill so I snuck into the theater across from me and sat in on the last 30 minutes of Dawn of Justice.

The whole fight between Bats and Supes really was mishandled IMO. I really just lose track of Supes' motivation after a point...like when he gives Bats that stupid smug look when his powers come back and Batmans punches stop working. Sure, it's a nice trailer moment but in the context of that scene it's so stupid. Why is he playing Batman's game? He's willing to kill him ("No one stays good in this world"), right? So boom, there's his moment to just rip Batman's head off...or take that moment to explain the situation. Instead he succumbs to macho BS and prolongs the fight when his mom is minutes away from being burned alive.

I understand that creating any scenario where Batman fighting Superman is believable is tricky to do without seeming overly contrived, but unfortunately I think this movie really failed to give it believability and the right emotional stakes, yet it still felt overly contrived anyway. If there was a way to somehow fix that section of the movie, without even doing much to all the rest...I think it could've been way more satisfying experience that wouldn't have gotten this reaction. Because it's the TITLE of the freakin' movie.

^ Exactly, BatLobster. Superman had a few moments like that, in which he could have simply talked to Batman.

"Bruce, you don't understand".
*Batman walks right up to Superman's face*
"I understa--"
*Superman SHOVES Batman away!*

Why?! It should have gone like...

"Bruce, you don't understand".
*Batman walks right up to Superman's face*
"I understa--"
*Superman grabs Batman, covers his mouth*
"Seriously, I don't want to fight you... right now. Luthor's behind all this and he's going to kill a woman named Martha Kent".
*muffled*
"M...Maaartha?"

:p

SIDENOTE: I'm one of the few who think that instantly infamous Martha moment could have really played with a stronger context/script/director.

He even said "i have to try to convince him to help me or he has to die". He toys with him, plays his game, stalls because the fight needs to go longer. Why? Zack likes action/fighting. That's why. And because it's a fight that people came to see. Im not saying do a 1 minute fight. Sure, give the people a lengthy fight. But there's just not a lot of thought.

When Superman gives that smug look, i hate Batman's reaction. He turns into the wuss. He gives the "oh nooo please don't!" look. Even his hands go up like "nooo man, wait, waaaaaait!!! don't be mad!!" It lasts like 3 seconds tops, but it doesn't feel like a thing Batman would do. Maybe it's just me. It's ABSOLUTELY a nitpick, but i had to say it.

That fight doesn't really do it for me. It's supposed to be the main fight. The big showdown. It's the damn title of the movie! Yet, i prefer the warehouse fight scene and even seeing Wonder Woman tie Doomsday up with a lasso.

I was pretty pumped when that comic-con footage leaked and Batman is standing there in the rain, mecha-suit, looking up at the bat-signal in the sky. Superman emerges. Looks down on Bats from above. It looked so epic. I wish they had different motivations going into that. I wish that scene was drawn out much longer. I wish some words were exchanged right there (and i don't mean Batman yelling I UNDERRRRRSTAND!!! like a child).

Batlobster, what did you think the rest of the movie, this time? After the showdown.
