Civil War vs BvS is an entertaining thread, sad to say it's for the wrong reasons.

Anything vs BvS is always an entertaining thread. The strawman arguments come aplenty.

Your posts tend to be cleverly entertaining when replying to absurd posts.

I stayed clear of that thread because I knew I would cringe all my teeth out.

Don't worry about people attacking you for your opinion. There are people who think the same way as you do.

While I don't think Civil War was a bad movie, it is not the masterpiece that Batman v Superman is.

oh man, its just too good in that thread. delicious.

This is not the TiVo thread.
Please don't poison this well.
:halo:

Where's your funny bone, Aziz. Posts like that are just pure comedy.

Priceless :lmao:

Disagreed on all of that. Sure, they are all accomplished directors, but all very tame and samey in style, which is why everybody and their mother likes most of their films. Yeah, that IS a bad thing imo btw, because nothing is more boring to me than a safe, middle of the road movie like 90% of the MCU, Abrams and Singer movies.
JJ and substance? Don't make me laugh.
Meanwhile BvS drips with deep meaning embedded into every single frame. I recently wrote a term paper on the whole "toxic masculinity vs. positive femininty" aspect of BvS, which is woven through the entire film thematically. It is a deeply substantial film, just not in an obvious way that gets force fed into numb brains that don't like to think. Hell, Bruce's whole Beautiful Lie monolog alone could be the base of a scientific paper in terms of meaning and subtext. You don't find anything remotely this deep in any of the guys movies you mentioned before.
People act like the recently found "easter egg" of the lead granate casings is an actual "easter egg" while in reality it is an actual piece of the story that people who pay attention saw on the first watch, which explains Superman's behaviour in a following scene. In a movie watcher society where stuff like that is called an easter egg to be discovered and write articles about months later, it is no wonder that smart and layered movies like BvS have a hard time. Most of the people who say Zack has no substance should rather worry about getting the cheeto dust out of their eyes and pay attention, or shut up and continue enjoying their spoon fed crap.

I loved the positive femininity of BvS. Especially when helpless Lois gets saved by Superman....twice. Or when Martha gets two scenes to lecture Superman and then has to be saved by Batman. Or when Wonder Woman makes no difference in the Doomsday fight.

Such oozing femininity.

Compare that to Scarlet Witch's mini arc in Civil War about her breaking out of the men controlling her actions. Or how Black Widow is at the forefront of the Accords, driving its course.

Fellow Nolanites...I need your assistance on the Deathmatches: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=519593

I'm asking for the vote of everyone in this forum that remembers the glory days of the Tusi...and if there's anyone that was around WAY back...the Hayley Williams thing a now banned member started (Same guy that wanted to petition Nolan to use a CGI Crispin Glover for Joker lol). I'm posting my request here because I want you to keep this in mind:

In a season of deathmatches where you're like to have your inbox and visitor messages flooded with PMs requesting a vote...I'm not gonna do that. I've found it annoying in the past, and so I wouldn't put any of you here through it.

Thank you.

Hey guys, totally off topic here but hey it's a lounge after all. :oldrazz:

A video my buddy and I made got selected for the main page of Funny or Die. There is some bad language in it so I can't post the direct link, but if you go to http://www.funnyordie.com/ and just scroll down a bit you'll see our video "The Misunderstanding" which is a rom com parody trailer/sketch. Feel free to give us a watch, like and click funny if you feel so inclined. :woot:

Oh and Phantasm, I'll definitely give your 89 analysis a read sometime. I forget if I mentioned it here, but a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to see a double header of 89 and Returns at my local Alamo Drafthouse. Original 35mm prints. It was a pretty wonderful experience, really made me fall back in love with 89 especially in a pretty big way, since it was my first time seeing it on the big screen after all these years.

Man, I'm super jealous. That's awesome.

That is awesome. The scrabble part literally made me laugh out loud. Were you in this video yourself or are you a behind the scenes guy?

I'm prepared to rally behind the Eunuch to bring down AnneFan. :D

I ****ing miss the madman that made the old Joker petition. Shame he went off the deep end.
