I guess going to see a DC movie in the theaters isn't an admission fee, it's an investment. With the possibility of a decent return in the Extended edition. But just a possibility. Come and gamble your next DC film!

Isn't every movie you see in the theaters a gamble?

For some reason this only applies to DC movies. EVERY OTHER FILM COMPANY IN HOLLYWOOD RELEASES EXTENDED CUTS OF THEIR FILMS.
Not just DC. People are just finding another way to !@#$ on the DCEU films.

The DCEU has only had 3 movies in 3 years and two out of those three have got extended cuts. Both in the same year hilariously. You act like other film companies do that all the time.

You can always stop coming here. Stick to the JL posiivity thread.

As much as people claim to hate the rampant negativity, they sure love to interact with the "whiners" on a regular basis.

I can't help but think that they get a kick out of complaining about or confronting the cynics, just as much as cynics supposedly love to spew vitriol.

Not only that but these extended cuts seems to be a reaction towards the negativity from fans and critics. I don't think they were ever planned to begin with.

Oh and i grew up thinking Superman was dull and boring. And now i'm thinking he's a little more badass than i thought, but still quite boring and dull. Thanks Snyder.

As a kid Superman was my least favourite character because of how OP he was

Meh. Superman is never more dull and boring than when creators try to depower him and make him more like a Marvel character.

There are notable exceptions to that, however.

Compared to what exactly?

Agreed on both these points (Fleischer being my example for the exceptions).

Superman lost a lot of interest after they downgraded him.

Exactly. Superman was pretty much the most popular superhero-- even over Batman and Spider-Man-- until the mid-80's... When they depowered him and tried to make him "relatable". That's when things started going off track.

Yeah, there is a big difference between these and say the Tolkien films where Peter Jackson has openly said that the TC are the real films but he did the Extended Versions for the fans.

Compared to what exactly?

He can fly, can shoot lasers from his eyes, can breathe ice, has super strength, has super speed, is invincible.
He's like 5 heroes in one.
It's like if you took Cyclops, Mr. Freeze, The Flash, Hulk, multiplied there powers by 10, put them together as one person and then gave it the ability to fly outer space.

Maybe George Lucas should take some pages out of his book

Yeah I doubt they'd have seen the light of day if the movies had not been slammed by fans and critics.

Technically they did announce the BvS Extended Cut was coming to Blu-Ray before it even hit theaters.

But I definitely agree that with SS, it looks to be a reactionary move.
