The Dark Knight Rises You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 8

Saw Wonder Woman again. This time i was really rolling my eyes at the villains. And yes, the slow motion could have been cut a bit. I wonder if they had better villains that weren't hamming it up like a 90's CBM, could this movie have been TDK Trilogy level? Still an enjoyable movie, powerful ending, chemistry that oozes off the screen, good score. Can't take that away from the movie. But i can see this movie being overrated throughout the years. It is not a great movie, it's a solid fun movie that will help the industry and the talent inside, as well as the DCEU...unless Justice League or something screws it all up again.

Justice League is still Zack Snyder's baby and is currently undergoing reshoots. I realize that's perfectly normal for a big budget film, but whenever I hear "reshoots" and "DCEU film" in the same sentence, I think of Suicide Squad *shudder*

I'm not holding my breath, Joss Whedon or no Joss Whedon.

I heard the reshoots it was going through is 'significant'

And other sources claim there are just minor reshoots. Ultimately it all depends on what someone wants to believe, there is so much fake news out there.

Wonder Woman had reshoots when Gal Gadot was 5 months pregnant. They had to cut a hole in her costume and put green screen cloth in the
hole to hide the baby bump and then CGI her stomach in in post production. So it's just as valid to think Wonder Woman as it is Suicide Squad.
I don't think there are very many movies made that don't a have reshoots.

Zack Synder isnt good for this type bigmovies. I hope it wont be like b v s....

“What I love that [Nolan] did was that he took the genre seriously."

I'm so in.

Everything from that article you posted Joker is pure win.

Yeah, you're right. But remember that even though Wonder Woman turned out fantastically, not everyone was sold on it and for good reason. The DCEU up until now has been a massive letdown. I'm still skeptical. One good movie doesn't give me faith in an entire franchise.

Saw Spider-Man Homecoming yesterday.

Overall, Excellent movie the best Spidey's been in at least 13 years. If you're a die-hard Spider-Man fan, You may need to be open-minded on how some of the characters are portrayed though.

Enjoyed the hell out of Homecoming with my friends. It's not "great" but it's solid. I don't know about you guys but I thought everything Vulture did throughout the movie made sense and felt like Spidey just couldn't mind his own business lol. I don't blame Peter though, I blame another character..

Sounds like they finally struck gold with Vulture.

I wanna see Mysterio next. I think he has the potential to be fantastic. He's got a really cinematic erm...gimmick.

You and me are on the same wave, he's long overdue.

Well my prediction after watching it was Mysterio and Scorpion in the next film.

Question. Is it just me or are trailers getting worse for the bigger films now? I don't just mean revealing too much. We know that. Or those pointless teasers in the beginning of each trailer. But I thought the trailers for Homecoming were truly awful. Pretty much the same with Wonder Woman. And now I'm looking at every cbm released this year...And I have to give them all a thumbs up.

Yeah the WW trailers were underwhelming, especially compared to previous DC outings like Man of Steel and TDKT. Once in a while there's a movie that has exceptional trailers, like Mad Max: Fury Road. The trailers for the new Apes movie have been pretty good.

End up like Interstellar? Elaborate?

Meaning orgasmic reaction on the social media sphere but a more tepid reaction in the critical consensus. However, Interstellar's early reaction was mostly filmmakers. This one seems to be actual critics. So there's a high chance the positive feedback shall carry on to RT.

Interstellar still got fresh on RT but yeah I get it. It's still too early but it might be a high one for Nolan. I can't see it doing too well commercially though.

I need to watch Interstellar again, but I keep procrastinating.

On another note; why are there long videos on youtube to analyze short trailers?

Just saw Spider-Man. Wow. I'm surprised at how much I loved this film. It's not at all the generic superhero film Sony marketed it as.

The first act has some of the bathos problems Marvel has, then it just dissapears. From then it's fully its own thing with its own tone and everything. It's fantastic.

Really hope it holda up on a second viewing.

Homecoming will most likely have more repeat value for me compared to Wonder Woman because of the Hughes vibe and Keaton.
