I appreciate you 'reciprocating' there, heh. Interesting to get a more full view of your thoughts on the movie. Didn't realize you were originally against Doomsday being in the movie. Were you more in the Bizarro camp?

I wasn't really in either camp. I guess the "Bizarro" camp after seeing the SDCC trailer, coming to the realization that there would be some kind of "monster threat" in the third act. I was more hoping that Zod's body would be used to create Kyptonite or some kind of weapon. But in the year or two prior to that, I had been shooting down everyone and every rumor claiming that Doomsday was in the film and calling BS.

All the time? Im usually pretty positive in the TDKR thread. Only not so much with this new version or when Marvel movies are brought up.

I said all i needed to say about it now, unless you guys ask me more questions. That's why i did my semi-sarcastic questions a few posts ago. You guys continue now.

Talk about stuff i like? There's like a couple of things and that's it. What? Bruce scenes (there's like two?). What else? I dont think there is. I could return late March all like OH S**T! IT WAS AMAZING!

When I said talk stuff you like I didn't mean specifically BvS I meant anything in general.

What are you thoughts on Suicide Squad?

Why does it piss you off?

If we're getting Barbara, it'll be Jena Malone, and it just doesn't fit having a 20 something girl as Commish.

Hmm, yeah sorry totally forgot she was that age. But who's to say she's playing Barbara? I'd be fine with Carrie Kelley but I honestly do not think we'll get her.
It was mainly how Oracle was handled that piss me off, prior to New 52. DC was adamant of keeping her in that damn wheelchair, never letting her become Batgirl again. They always had to hammer in "she's paralyzed" no coming back from this. When I cried ********, it's a comic book, you brought an alien back to life. Lazarus Pits that keep man immortal for centuries??? A guy who got radiation poisoning more or less from a meteorite who has lived over THOUSANDS of years. Nothing against the character per se, if you like her as Oracle that's fine, but to me she is and always will be Batgirl. Anyways, that's my 2 cents.

Much more pumped for that. I loved Fury from David Ayer. I like what he's doing with Killer Croc. No CG. No overgrown CG monster running around. You have a killer concept of a team of villains, all in prison, used by the government for their own gain. Different personalities. Diversity. Multiple Batman villains. The debut of Harley and a brand new Joker (even though im not fond of his look so far). That last trailer was perfect. Not a fan of Jai Courtney, but this is the first time im seeing him play a character where he doesn't have to force the American thing so maybe he'll do fine AND he's one of many supporting characters.

I would love to hear the original audio for Affleck's read of the "Do you bleed" line. I'd bet anything that it sounds much better than the overly processed version. Especially "you will", because it sounds like it's more of a whisper there.

I liked how the processing sounded on "I thought she was with you", but if it's cranked to 11 for a lot of the movie then I don't think I'm going to like that. It's pretty much the same problem I had with TDK voice in some scenes, it's just too bassy and boomy. I'll say that even though it's supposed to voice modulation in-universe in both versions, that's way more clear with the Affleck version. Which is both good and bad.

Ya done bleed boy? Ya gonna.

Elucidate unto me such, do you endeavor to spill blood, sir? You may find it to discover you shall.

Despite the horrendous looking Joker, I am really looking forward to that. It looks like heaps of fun. I think Leto will nail it acting wise, Margot Robbie is perfect for Harley, Croc looks great, Deadshot is a bad ass character, Waller is well cast with Viola Davis.

SS and X-Men are my two most anticipated CBMs this year.

The only niggling little concern I have with SS is that they don't just try and mimic the Avengers, only with villains. I mean you have a lot of the same furniture with the black government type leader (Waller/Fury), the green beast (Croc/Hulk), the sexy ass kicker (Harley/Black Widow), the expert marksman (Deadshot/Hawkeye) etc.

I don't think Suicide Squad will be anything at all like The Avengers.

Ryan Coogler of Creed fame is helming Black Panther. Just awesome.

When was it ever suggested or confirmed that Bale's Batman voice was modulated in-universe?

Yeah it's great news because Creed and Fruitvale Station were great. Im usually not a MCU guy, but im looking forward to that, Doctor Strange and Civil War. The Avengers sequels? We'll see after Civil War but i just don't care about the last two Avengers, so Infinity War is a big MEH for me.

I didn't like the Civil War trailer the first time i saw it, but it's growing on me since seeing it in the cinema.

I believe there was a visual dictionary tie-in book with Begins that explained that there was a voice modulator in the cowl. But that probably shouldn't be taken as gospel.

Yeah, I don't, in this case.

Found it. There might be another page that mentions it too, I forget. Yeah, it's probably not technically canon, but I guess it's my head-canon.

Looks like that just says it could magnify his voice to "formidable volume".

To me, it just never sounded like his voice was modulated in the films, even if it actually was at all.

Yeah that was my mistake, I guess it's an amplifier and not a modulator. It accounts for how boomy and bassy he sounds sometimes, for me.

It would be really funny if Ben's voice throughout this franchise was consistely modulated and heavily robotic, no matter the suit or situation. And then we all look back and prefer Bale's voice.

Very interesting for what it's worth I have never seen Jai Courtney in anything as far as I'm aware. What's the guy called who played Robocop in the reboot? He's the one I'm worried about. Going from Tom Hardy to him is a big step down IMO.

I think the film looks phenomenal though.

I actually like the Punk rock look of the Joker. I think the Jokers a character very much open to interpretation. You can get away with changes like that with a character like him because he is archaic.

Fwiw, I think it has almost zero chance of been like the Avengers well other than them been somewhat of a reluctant team

I think that also has zero chance of happening at least for me. Especially given how I think the choice of voice for Bane in the Dark Knight Rises was a major misstep and only adds to one of the many reasons that film is the weakest of the three.

I disagree. Every character is open to interpretation when they're put on screen, not just the Joker. In that sense you can "get away" with it. But just because they're open to interpretation doesn't mean you can make any change and it's good. Leto's Joker look is a prime example of that. This is another;

Hopefully, but we'll see. WB and DC are in a mighty big rush to catch up with Marvel in the expanding universe game. Mimicking some of their style and tropes wouldn't be beneath them.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's how I feel, if the majority of the lines sound like the TV spot. I never minded the Bat-growl too much in the first place, it has its overdone moments for sure but I never really had the problem of feeling like there's a disconnect between the image and the voice. The bank vault scene might be the one exception to that.

I really hope the "I thought she was with you" style is how most of the lines come off. That's a good balance of it still sounding like Affleck, but 'different'. The "Do you bleed" stuff just sounds too much like Megatron to me.

Banes voice is still one of the highlights of the trilogy for me. Im a major Hardy fanboy and i think he can do no wrong, like Fassbender. Even when they're in bad or mediocre films, they're always the highlight.

For the batvoice, i think it can go either way. Maybe the final film is toned down? If it's exactly the way it is in the tv spot where we can see Batman talking with that robot voice, then im gonna side with Bale's voice. I don't think it matches his regular suit because he's not a robot. He's a human, trying to come off like a creature. It only works for the mecha-suit. It works PERFECTLY for that suit actually. I was hoping the "do you bleed" line was when he's looking up at him in the bat signal. Oh well.

I still think the Bat joke at the end of the last trailer sounded just as robotic and loud as the Do You Bleed?

One more negative (hehe): Cavill is annoying me. He literally has the same facial expression in every bit of footage we've seen. Even when Batman asks him if he bleeds, he has the same PISSED OFF POUTY FACE! It's hilarious! It just never ends. Is it specific choices for the trailers so it gets into our minds that Superman is pissed? Is there more to his performance lmao? Or is Cavill just a super one-dimensional actor? If he's like that the whole movie, i won't be able to take it. Was wondering what you guys thought about him?

I thought Cavill did a pretty decent job with what he was given in Man of Steel but I agree he's coming off a bit flat and one-note in the trailers.

He was alright in MOS. I blame Goyer and Snyder for some of that.

Nah, it was clearly more of Nolan's fault there.
