Metropolis has less of a personality to me than Gotham does. The Daily Planet building looks very bland.

Dammit.. as one of the original tusi members i am ashamed to say i keep getting this one mixed up with the BvS tusi...

If that was the only skyscraper to have windows in the history of ever, then yes, it would be a coincidence. But having been in a TON, I would say no, it's just the nature with the kind of structures in play for such a setting.

Similar? Yes. Coincidence? lol, no!

Breaking News: Christopher Nolan suing Zach Snyder

Wasn't this building used for Wayne Tower in Batman Begins (and TDK) ? I think the building is Chicago's Trade tower...which is visible in the latest promotional advertisement for Turkish airlines (Welcome to Gotham City.)

^ I thought I spotted that in the night time shot one. It's over on the left hand side of it;

So you're saying it's not just a coincidence, then? :cwink:

In all seriousness though, the framing of the shot with Bruce/Batman silhouetted dead center in the frame...I don't know, it doesn't seem beyond the realm of possibility to me that the director and/or DP of the commercial took a bit of inspiration there from previous Batman marketing materials.

In a world where digital advertising for these films is recreating iconic comic book images/poses, I think it's totally possible.

You know one of the more amusing notions I've read on the internet about Batfleck? That he's undergone some sort of acting transformation to play him -- "ah dun see Affleck anymore; ah only see Batman".

Have these people ever seen Affleck before this movie? He is playing Wayne exactly the same as his public Hollywood persona, cept with maybe a slightly deeper voice.

People are acting like Affleck is DDL and Batman is Bill The Butcher, Lincoln or Daniel Plainview.

Sounds like something people in this board would say before TDK came out.

Guess who finally picked up TDKR on Blu ray?

Not bad for $1.

That reminds me, I still haven't opened the Cowl limited edition for TDKR. I wonder if it's still worth anything...

You can finally give that full Batmobile doc a watch. :cwink:

Bruh, he's winning an Oscar for this role. Didn't you get the memo?

I do think those kinds of reactions are over-the-top and amusing, much like the people who labeled Affleck's split-second facial expressions from trailers as bad acting and him "trying too hard". "All ah see is Affleck...there's a different between acting in a role and just completely being the character..."

The difference is, I'm not saying he's like Razzie-worthy bad in those moments or anything. Just that it's under par, and not the most convincing when he tries to portray anger. Then you have other people genuinely thinking he's going to win an Oscar.

I think the hyperbole swings much harder the other way.

THAT trailer should've been the last trailer. And the last trailer should not have existed. They should've ridden the Bats v Supes angle to the end. Doomsday should've been a surprise reserved for the movie. I like how Doomsday is non-existent in this one. WB are hoping people forget the last trailer too.

I liked the shot of supes and Lois in the tub. Finally some sexuality in these films after Nolan's near-celibacy.

The opening sequence with Batman was like a cutscene out of the Arkham games.

I disagree, big time. I've seen people say that when Batman slightly turned his neck, that it was "too Ben Afflecky". I've seen people say the same thing, because he blinked "wrong" while he had the cowl on. I've also seen people say, it's too Ben Afflecky, because he shows too much of his teeth, and therefore, "acts too much with his teeth".

I've seen people say he's looks great, and that he's disappearing in the role(obviously you disagree), but I haven't seen anyone say he's going to win an Oscar. But when people say he's too much like Ben Affleck cause of the way he turns his head, I can honestly say that is way more hyperbolic than saying he might win an Oscar, which I haven't seen anyone say.

But anyways, the new trailer is fantastic, and Batman looks like a pure badass when he fights. Check it out if you haven't already. [YT]Cle_rKBpZ28[/YT]

Agreed. This trailer was much better. It has me more excited than the last one.

Trailer looks good. I had the same thought as Tacit, what was even the point of having the last trailer? At least they're ending strong, but this trailer was good enough to have been the third and final trailer, with no need to show all of that 3rd act stuff.

I liked the Bruce/Diana moment. Nice to finally hear Gadot speak, and she sounded great.

Also enjoyed Irons/Afflecks banter, felt like it was picking up right where Bale and Caine left off.

I've seen people say that multiple times, that's the difference I guess (not just on these forums either). Granted, if people are saying those other weird things too then that's just as over the top if not more. I know Shape was referencing stuff I've personally said here, which I still stand behind, so I was defending that. I can't speak for others though.

Much better than the last one, though it doesn't ease my worries. On the bright side, I think that action scene they used for the opening looks more enjoyable to me than the Batman v Superman fight.

I wasn't attempting to single you out, but also the more over-the-top negative reactions like shauner's in regard to the claims of bad acting. Yes, there is more overwhelming positivity towards the film and Affleck around here now, but there is still a small minority of people with predictably "amusing" and reaching negative reactions, just as there are people who claim this is will be the best movie of all time and Affleck is delivering a performance worthy of an Oscar.

Edit: I think it's okay to poke fun at the Negative Nancys every once in awhile, just as it's okay to continuously rag on the Polly Positives.
