The thing is though that Cyborg is an opportunity for a director to make an impact on character who's never really been important and make him into something.

I think Cyborg deserves a chance, but Yeah i miss martian manhunter. I hate how Goyer talked **** about him so hopefully he is out of the picture of this new DC universe, don't need his writing talents for this. But Cyborg opens up to the titans as well so that could be fun

As for Marvel i have no idea how will respond for this but i can bet anything that you will hear something very very soon, probably tomorrow. And poor Hemsworth he is getting 0 attention now will all the RDJ announcements, i even doubt Thor 3 at this point

They don't have any unnamed dates through 2017. The 2nd 2017 is technically unnamed but many feel it's THOR 3.

If so, we've got their slate through 2017. Wonder Woman beats them to the punch.

Unless they announce May 2017 as a female superhero movie, leading WB to move WW to March or April (or stay put as they wouldn't care much for bragging rights as much as getting the movie right)

I am not so excited about the Cyborg solo, but he could surprise.

There was a King Arthur project he was circling too I thought. Well, the guy has been on a roller coaster since 2012 and if he takes some time off after JL to rest before a Supes solo or other projects I would totally understand.

This movie does not need to have the classic line up. Avengers got away with a less than classic line up. If these movies have to be exactly like the comics the Avengers sequel would be called Avengers: Age of Space Phantom.
Studios look at characters that can be marketed. They will look at Hal, John, Kyle, Guy and Simon and determine which one can they market the best...and their personality will be modified. Does Tony Stark in the movies behave like comic Tony Stark...No. MCU Hawkeye doesn't seem to be that smart alec-y guy I know from the comics.

It's the same way for Cyborg over Martian Manhunter...which one can WB market better...a martian stuck on earth or a robotic black guy.

anything that happens in the comics isn't worth talking about...not in regards to a movie universe.

Cavill was attached to "The Great Wall" and "Ben Hur", but had to back out of both due to BvS/JL.

His Superman responsibilities might keep him out of the game for quite some time then. I guess he'll be able to squeeze some shorter projects in here and there when he has some down time though.

I would have preferred Martian Manhunter (i just think it's more interesting to have more aliens on a team as opposed to having a bunch of earthlings) over cyborg, but making a movie about a black superhero has his merits. and he is pretty appropriate of the times with all these advancement in technology we've had over the last couple of decades.

YES.. that's the only direction to go in for a GL series

Hal as the lead

part 1: Sinestro vs Hal
part 2: Atrocitus vs GLs
part 3: Blackest Night finale

There's your franchise

See I'd rather see Atrocitus and Black Hand before Sinestro

The King Arthur project has now gone to Jason Momoa. :oldrazz:

Is anyone really interested in a standalone Cyborg movie...?

He works well with the Titans and the Justice League but he's not nearly an interesting enough character let alone concept to make a whole movie dedicated to him.

pretty sure that was kit harrington, jon snow from game of thrones. charlie hunnam got the part anyway.

Plot for Cyborg movie: Riddler sends Cyborg an email full of porn viruses.

I agree.

I see people take the comics way to literal when it comes to adapting into movie.

The comics is more like a guide. How a character is portrayed in the comics isn't a cast guarantee how they will be portrayed in the movies.

People say John Strewart or Cyborg or whoever is boring but they might cast a super charismatic actor and change some of the characters background to make them more interesting in a movie

You're right. I forgot that they had 3 dates in 2017. Only GUARDIANS 2 for July of that year has been announced.

It depends on how his character is in Justice League. I am not opposed to it. I looks like all their JL heroes are getting solo films.

I'm sorry Ror2012 but I'm not overly a huge fan of the line up so far for the DCCU.

Batman V Superman: Yea I'm completely behind.

Suicide Squad: Honestly while Ayer is a good director, the only way I would be interested is if Deathstroke is a member.

Wonder Woman: With so far all we know is Gal is WW, yea I am not interested until I hear the director and writers.

Flash: Same thing as Wonder Woman basically.

Shazam: Not a huge Shazam fan but I love the Rock as Black Adam. While I don't think the writer is the best fit, I know the Rock will just own.

Justice League: Of course I'm interested.

Aquaman: I'm not a huge Aquaman fan. I like Momoa and I hear it's based off the New 52 stuff so I'm interested but I would like to know the director and writer.

Cyborg: Ray will kill it but I don't get why this is a film..

I can get behind a Batfleck solo and another Superman film but I'm disappointed Sandman and especially Justice League Dark isn't on the list. If WB/DC announces a Green Lantern film with Chadwick as John, I'm completely down for that.

You assume Cyborg's movie would be stand alone and not part of the overall Justice League/ DCCU arc

I was talking about in the comics not the films :cwink:

I was just wondering if he had a arch-enemy or some villain with ties to him as I'm not super familiar with the character.
