I don't see why Cap and Thor couldn't have been introduced in Iron Man 2 or Avengers...

This idea that ever superhero needs to be introduced 'properly' in a solo film is a bit silly. Marvel is doing it very well and I give them credit for it. However there is more than one way to do things. You can intro characters in solo films or you can intro them in a blockbuster and generate buzz.

Yes.

What's funny is that so many people are now labeling this as a "Trinity" film with the inclusion of WW, and that's just simply not the case. As previously announced in that epic, well-coordinated Comic Con announcement...this is a Superman/Batman film. The inclusion of WW means 2 things: she will most likely play a role in the outcome of the film, and these filmmakers want to introduce her character to audiences using the massive platform that is a Superman/Batman film.

There's no reason to believe she will have as big of a role as Bats or Supes, or even Lois Lane. And as you said, there are other ways to introduce characters than just solo origin films. This is a smart move, if you ask me. It will acclimate audiences with the WW character (as well as our new Batman) which will build buzz for the next slew of films that will follow.

and not only does it intro the new characters but it ties them together more closely than Marvel's solo films did.

Yup, since we won't need SHIELD agents popping up in the credits of every film to tie it all together.

If they use Doomsday, I don't think they will do the death of Superman this soon or will they? They should leave it for later, MOS2 could be Doomsday round 1, the monster is defeated by Superman & friends, but someone (Brainiac?) recovers the body to help it regenerate, get stronger and kill Superman next time around.

I hope it's not Doomsday because that would mean we got another Kryptonian foe so soon after Zod.

Pretty sure they wouldn't go down this route this time. Not sure where this silly rumor started.

I was looking forward to a MoS sequel now this just looks like Justice League and a movie that has too many characters. And it does look like they are making this stuff up as they go along. I blame Avengers; if that movie hadn't been such a blockbuster than WB wouldn't feel the need to play so much catch up with them.

How would Sofia Coppola or Kathryn Bigelow handle the character now that Gadot is cast?
Would they even give the role to her in the first place?

And Marvel has done it too, not just with Iron Man 2, Hawkeye was in Thor, some are whining just for the sake of it.

If MOS2 focus is Superman and Batman, then WW will have a minor role, maybe she's Diana most of the time and is only WW at the end for the battle against Doomsday to help Supes and Batman, with maybe Flash (and others?) helping. Then in 2016, solo films for WW and Flash, that's what I think WB should do, but we'll see.

Really??? You knew everything about this movie when they announced it?

also WB's been trying to do JL since 2007.

It doesn't matter because they aren't directing the solo film. The situation would be like Marvel does. Marvel casts the actors. Anyone signing on to direct WW will do so with a lead already cast.

Thats a fair statement, and like I said I have faith that Snyder and Goyer have a plan but at the same time I do not at all blame people for being all "huh?" on all this stuff we're hearing because let's face it, there's a lot theyre cramming in this.

This is not the same as Ironman 2 where they introduced war machine and black widow, this is BATMAN AND WONDER WOMAN, two of the most famous, well known superheroes in the world. YOu can't help but wonder how these major characters are NOT going to take the attention away from Superman.

Look, if Warner Bros had said from the get go "we're launching a Justice League-ish team up movie as a follow up to Man of Steel" I don't think anybody would have a problem with them putting all these characters in here because its expected. Its the fact that since the announcement they are insistent that this is Man Of Steel 2, which implies that, you know, its a film about Superman and his continuing story. That's why people are confused and apprehensive.

A lot of people were right about WW.

Nothing from that link you shared is close to a confirmation of Doomsday. I refuse to believe it, either way.

It would be cool if he actually worked at WB, which he doesn't... :cwink:

depends. if lora kennedy (she's cast for both ben and zack, and had been trying to cast henry for sometime) had anything to do with the casting, perhaps.

but it's not a lot of cramming…Batman and Wonder Woman…two characters…one is a lead the other is a supporting character.

Why would they steal attention from Superman??? I don't understand this complaint. Did Cap and Thor and Hulk and BW steal attention from Iron Man in Avengers??? Using Star Wars as an example with Superman as Luke, Batman as Han and WW as Leia this movie is doable and not crammed as everyone is complaining about.

You hit the nail on the head with your last paragraph. The problem isn't with WB. The problem is with people's perceptions. They thought this movie was 'this' and now that we find out it's not people think they are making this up as they go. We were told constantly that MOS was going to be the start of the DCCU and now that they are trying to expand this people are complaining?

Coppola? lol. Only if you want Wonder Woman wandering around aimlessly, going through some juvenile existential crisis.

Just imagine this bold action and sheer creativity Coppola would bring to the character! Can't wait for the scene where the camera lingers on her as she stares out the window for 5 minutes. :o

This looks like a big mess. A proper supes sequel would've been much better. Now it's like a batman and robin turd sandwich. Schumacher will finally be able to come out from under that rock. Mamoa probably be supergirl. If Affleck is batman, anything is possible.

I'm surprised too, I would save Doomsday for later... hopefully by the end of the year, we will know who the villains are. :word:

This movie that I know nothing about except Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman is in it is a mess. I don't even know the name of it.
