A brilliant, ruthless career criminal who combines the intelligence and sophistication of a wealthy MIT graduate from the upper class with the cold brutality of a lifelong mob hitman raised on the streets who was granted superhuman power at the cost of his humanity and now struggles with keeping a grip on his sanity and getting revenge on the people who turned him into a freak with dulled senses and a machine for a body while balancing both of those things with continuing to do his job like a consummate professional. You've seen a lot of that in super hero movies? More to the point, you've seen considerably more of that in super hero movies than "huge dumb monster who kills things?"

Boom.

Couldn't have said it better.

No Metallo. I find him boring as well. Brainiac!
 Brainiac is my favorite Superman villain. Well, outside of a good written Lex. They need to save him for something bigger though.

And big dumb punchy monsters haven't ALSO been done to death.

Metallo is actually interesting, especially when compared to Doomsday.
You're right. But Doomsdays look, and what he can do to Superman (which has never been seen by the general public) makes it fresh. Metallo has been done time and time again.

Agreed. People are just gonna refer to him as The Terminator knockoff.

Metallo should be used like Scarecrow in TDK, IMO.
Yup. Terminator is exactly it.

Sounds like Electro in the upcoming TASM2 to me.

I meant they were smart in knowing how to chase money. The reason why they chose to make batman movies instead of wondy films. They are smart enough in that sense, to see the money in doomsday over lesser rogues.

I don't agree but it's seemingly what drives them.
Agreed...that is what worries me though. Hopefully this time they have some sort of vision. Yet, I'm still a little concerned because I recently read an article that stated Goyer wants to build up stories like the Suicide Squad... My question is where does all that fit in to what they are doing now?

le sigh...I'll just stay in a holding pattern on this.

Sounds like Electro in the upcoming TASM2 to me.

In what way? We already can see from the trailers that Electro is basically an evil version of Spider-Man in the next film: An awkward depressed dork who lucks into super powers and reinvents himself into a new man. Just instead of using his powers to help people he uses them to get revenge on everyone who ever pushed him around. How is that anything like the way I described Metallo?

If I ever get Braniac or Darkseid on the big screen I will be giddy like a school girl. My two favorite villians.

I doubt he'd be written like that in the movies. And i was talking more on the surface. How he would be marketed/seen in trailers, how he's brought into the movie, etc.

The character you describe has literally been done dozens of times. I dont find it interesting.

I still think Doomsday is more marketable and would feel more fresh to audiences. And im not even that big of a fan. I like him but that's about it. Nothing more or less. If it was up to me i wouldnt even have another villain outside of Lex in this movie. But i havent read the script.

Boom.

Couldn't have said it better.

Like, I'm not a huge fan of the "Lex Luthor and a super powered second villain for the muscle" formula. I think it's a little bit too stock and it feels like the kind of thing one would think of before they sat down to write the story, and I feel like the characters should flow naturally from what the story really requires. Also I think Lex should be the sole focus plot-wise and the threat should some from what he's capable of, not from others. And to be completely honest, I think the notion that a Superman movie needs a one on one super powered fist fight to be good is a complete myth. But if we're going to go that way, which it seems pretty obvious we are, Metallo at least is a pretty natural and interesting choice.

Doot!!! Who do you wanna see as the villian?

Janksta! Good to hear from you, man. I really want to see Luthor, Metallo and Deathstroke in this one. Brainiac is also one I really want to see, but I think he'll be saved for a solo Superman sequel.

What about you?

What he can do to Superman? You mean kill him? Yeah, sorry, that's going to happen in the second film of this series months or so after Superman revealed himself to the world. Not going to happen.

And since that's not going to happen...what else can Doomsday do? Punch Superman? Yeah, Metallo can do that as well. And he has the added bonus of Kryptonite.

Yup. Terminator is exactly it.

And other than being cyborgs, Metallo and the Terminators have zero in common.

Unless they seriously revamp Doomsday; then there's nothing really interesting about him. All visual and no substance whatsoever...he's like the personification of what a Michael Bay film is like.

In a film that's looking very crowded as it is and where the franchise needs to add more substance than visuals, Doomsday wouldn't really do anyone any favors.

I don't want Metallo because he would simplybe someone else pawn but a lot of movie villians now days are that.

Lex and other than that I'm not sure man. It's hard for me to pick because my two favorite villians are for sure not going to be in this movie. Braniac and Darkseid(Justice league maybe)

I wouldn't have to do much on your post to make it fit Electro's description.

Electro is not a mob hitman, nor is he a machine.

You're right. He's actually a more interesting villain than Metallo.

Me too! Darkseid is the perfect Justice League villain.
I agree. He's too godly almost to be used in a solo Superman film. I'm on the fence besides lex on who I want in this film. Braniac is my longshot hope. But I can't see it yet.

Yeah, Michael Bay is actually a good description. But more badass id hope. I see Rhino, who looks like a machine in the new Spidey, as a good comparison to Doomsdays use. Nothing interesting at all. All visual, no substance. It could be cool to see Batman and Superman teaming up to fight Doomsday in the final act. But im worried about the level of destruction. He brings more destruction than Zod. How is that a good idea after the first movie?

You're right. He's actually a more interesting villain than Metallo.
Hehe. Electro is.

You're right. He's actually a more interesting villain than Metallo.
That's true.

That's also true.

I'd love to see Brainiac and Darkseid too, and it would be great if we didn't have to wait until 2017 to get at least one of them. If I had a choice, I'd put Brainiac in this movie with Lex and Darkseid in JL. I understand how you feel towards Metallo, but I'm wondering if a henchman type villain is necessary because so much time will be spent on exploring characters like Superman, Batman, Lex, etc. I think we might need one basic villain that doesn't need a lot of backstory. Kinda like Rhino in TASM2.
