I like Sara a lot, but ya'll are kidding yourselves if you think her and Oliver will end up together.

Sara will be killed (possibly before the end of this season), and later on in the series, Oliver will be back with Laurel.

I have hope that the writers do what's best for the show, and not just blindly follow a plan that they've set up in the very beginning, before they even had the chance to see if any of it would work out. Had they cast someone else as Laurel, things might look completely different now. The problem with Katie is, that she can't portray a character with likable qualities, even if she's supposed to be at a dark place right now.

Even if a character is at their lowest, you should still be able to root for them. You can't build up a character back to greatness, if there's barely anyone there that even remotely gives a damn.

It might be morally wrong to you, but I disagree.

Oliver and Sara's affair whilst Ollie was with Laurel was morally wrong. No question.

However, Sara and Ollie hooking up now years after Ollie and Laurel broke up because they care about each other is not morally wrong. Laurel and Ollie broke up ages ago.It doesn't mean every relative of every ex lover Ollie has had should be off limits automatically. Life isn't like that.

The thing is Sara wants Laurel to forgive and eventually forget the pain she caused. By hooking up with Oliver before that happens she is rubbing salt in her sister's wounds and making it many times harder for Laurel to forgive her.

I don't know. I think we have to get ANY preconceived notions out of our heads. TV Arrow is not Comic Book Arrow. Whatever happens, it needs to be ORGANIC and true to the television characters, not some lame attempt to adhere to a constantly changing and confusing comic book cannon.

Now that most Laurel fans don't want Oliver to ever get his slimy hands on her again ... the writers will probably think that is a great idea. The 2nd option is that they will figure out whether the Felicity fans or Laurel fans are more disgusted with Oliver in the last season and hook him up with that woman. It's just what I would expect from them at this point, they obviously think they don't have enough bleeping angst on the show. :whatever::whatever::whatever:

It's not about preconceived notions of following comic book cannon. Rather, it's not difficult to see the trajectory of things on this show based on where the writers have been leading us. With Slade being the Big Bad in present day, and Sara also living freely in Starling City, the connection between Oliver-Slade-Sara will have to come into play sooner or later.

We know that Slade will find out the truth (on the island) about what happened to Shado. What better way to get back at Oliver than to eventually target Sara, the woman who lived so that Shado could die? I would love for the writers to genuinely surprise me and do something different than that, but I can't help but feel we're heading in that direction.

The writers flipped the switch last season on everything we thought would happen. We all thought tommy was being set up to be Merlyn and look how that turned out. Don't presume you know anything.

I hope they are just lying this whole time. To keep everyone guessing and fearing for their favorite character.

Huh? Setting up Tommy to be Merlyn? I didn't think that was going to happen.

The writers have constantly changed their minds on many things since the show's premiere, so it isn't too crazy of a notion they would change their minds regarding Black Canary. Heck, it is pretty clear they would have gone back and redone Season 1 differently at this point, especially the "list". So I wouldn't put it past them to keep Sara as BC.

I did think it was a possibility. They definitely did give him more than enough reasons to feel betrayed, turn dark and follow in his father's footsteps.

I wish they would keep her as BC, but I doubt it at this point. Hopefully, she makes it through this season. Moira's death is more likely to come first.

However, I would hope they'd be smarter than to end each season with "Major Character Death".

I would love to read about all of the plans the writers had put in place, and then changed because it either didn't work, or because they thought of something better. Would be interesting to see how the show could have turned out to be like.

I still say Tommy ain't dead. He and Malcolm are hiding out in Nanda Parbat, rehabbing and turning Tommy into a badasss.

Malcolm is on the run from Ra's, in case you forgot.

If they don't want to be that predictable, they could have Sara badly injured by Slade (she's saved just in time by Ollie), but she can't be BC anymore. After discovering the truth and forgive her, Laurel starts training to help Team Arrow.

I'm currently watching season 1. Man, they really messed up with laurel. She was really likeable and served a purpose in season 1.

I hope they pull a Batman Forever if they make Ollie choose between Laurel and Sara.

With the pointless sonic eyes too. :woot:

I'm really hoping Ollie ends up with Sara, but moreover I hope he ends up with Black Canary. That's who his true love was traditionally in the comics.(Hopefully, that turns out to be the Sara BC,and not Laurel BC,but regardless...)

I'm hoping they have sense enough to do this, since Smallville for all it's flaws, still had Clark end up with Lois (His "true love") and not Lana (Laurel) who everyone considered his "predestined Love", or Chloe (Felicity) the cute nerdy girl, that everyone was pulling for to nab the hero.

The more things change, the more they stay the same....

Well considering in the comics BC is named Dinah Laurel Lance (or Drake).....

Laurel full name is Dinah Laurel Lance, as the Black Canary from the comics, Sarah Lance is just Arrow's first version (in the comics it was Dinah Drake).

Following canon is nice and all, but it shouldn't be followed blindly. And so far they haven't. They have already done a number of changes and deviated from the comics. They also changed plans that have been set in place, because they didn't work out as well as they expected, or they had better ideas.

An actor's performance is a big factor as well. That's why Felicity got promoted to series regular and is pretty much a corner stone of Arrow now. On the other side of the spectrum we have Laurel, who hasn't been the leading lady in a long time and feels pretty much inconsequential to the whole plot. It really feels like the only reason she is still on the show, is because of some CW connections.

Yes, they had a plan with Laurel, but so far, the plan doesn't seem to be paying off. They still have the chance to alter the plan. They could easily change Sara's name to Dinah Drake, and it'd still be in canon with the current comics. Since there is exists only one Canary at the moment, and Laurel isn't anywhere around.

Some people hate Roy too, but they're not going to make Diggle the new Red Arrow/Arsenal to appease the haters.
