Well I watch the tv series but is there anything from the comics?
What comic is Arrow based off of?

If MOS is anything to go by, those characters would be better off on Arrow. Lets wait to see how BvS does first before we talk about anyone making an "excellent" villain in any of those films. "Excellent" is not a word that I would use to describe anything in MOS.

Zod and Faora were great,I sincerely doubt Arrow could do anything half as good with them. I'm not even a MOS fan but what exactly does Arrow does so right that MOS got wrong? they atleast treated their lead female with respect. You know something is wrong when Felicity Smoak is a bigger character than Black Canary.
I want him to be a Batman or JL villain as that's what he is,I dont want the character to be in a tangle of rights which would ensue should Arrow choose to use him. There is another villain like him in Onomatopoeia,he's the better choice.

Arrow has been received much more warmly by fans than MOS, despite having far less resources at its disposal. It has not received as much praise as Daredevil, but it is respected and viewed as a good show and one of the very best Superhero shows (and by a lot of people as the best). MOS in comparison has received a mixed reception by fans and critics and is not viewed as one of the best Superhero movies, or even close to it. Arrow has been more of a success than MOS was, despite having less resources at its disposal and being on a network that forces it to focus a lot on drama and relationships. It has done far more right than MOS has done. Arrow has created a whole universe because people wanted more. Nobody cared enough about MOS getting a sequel and they had to force Batman into the movie (and have his name in the title) to keep the universe going.

Some villains I need them to introduce in S5:

I dont think this has anything to do with Prometheus. MOS had a completely different set of problems but they still gave us respectable versions of Zod,Faora and Lois. I'm still waiting for decent versions of Count Vertigo and Komodo, moreover actual Green Arrow characters like Black Canary and Roy have been tossed in to the back burner so that we could get more of Felicity and her mother. I'd take Snyder's flawed universe over the universe where Felicity is the Mecca and everyone prostrates in her direction. A comparison doesn't even work anyway, they'll push with the movies even without Snyder. Their output however can be compared with Marvel and I fail to see how DCTV isn't as bad DCCU compared to Marvel's output on both fronts.
Arrow can use Onomatopoeia,Prometheus belongs with Batman/JL period.

So the cast now know who is dead and leaving the show. David said it was very very sad.

Katie was sporting what looked like a potential black eye so looks like things may get rough for Laurel.

Why do people care what villain originally belonged to which character originally? Because it's an alternate universe than the comics and regardless, heroes fight other character's villains all the time. As long as they have an interesting story in mind, shouldn't we just be excited that these characters are getting more exposure?

Because they have plenty of characters that they can use and don't have to pull exclusively from Batman.

But Batman has the greatest rogue gallery in comics and Ollie is a similar character so I forgive em.

They are only great because they are constantly used and put in good stories. Build up your own characters, that's why Oliver isn't named Bruce.

The rogues they've used are not the type instantly associated with Batman like Joker, Penquin,Riddler and Two-face.

They dont?

Merlyn, Count Vertigo, Sportsmaster, Chesire, Lady Shiva, Onomatopoeia, China White, Komodo, Cupid, DC has a whole library of villains that aren't Batman villains.

Beside Ra's al Ghul and Firefly I think deadshot, KGBeast, Anarky are not exactly top tier batman villains

Speaking of Firefly, his one-and-done appearance was a waste, IMO. But it was typical of the show's 1st season habit of killing off every 2nd- or 3rd-tier DC villain that appeared. Only China White survived that onslaught. :oldrazz:

He's saying they don't pull exclusively from Batman's rogues gallery.

Exciting story as in the one they gave Ra's? yeah totally not ripped down to the bone.
I care because Arrow has done a poor job with actual Green Arrow villains. I care because I'm a fan of Canary and Harper and if they struggle to use these basic characters then they have no right to use "other" characters.

Because they all represent some aspect of Batman. Chuck Dixon wrote Green Arrow for years but he never used Bane in a Green Arrow story, for those who dont know Dixon created Bane. Same goes for Dennis O'Neal,he created Ra's and Talia and is known as one of the best Green Arrow writers but never used either in his Green Arrow stories.
Because they dont represent anything to Green Arrow, they dont mean anything in the context of Green Arrow stories. Unless of course the Green Arrow in question is a Batman clone.
Prometheus is the same, his life and personality are the inverse of Batman's,he's an evil prep God. Fighting Batman automatically makes sense. He made his ambition in life to destroy justice, hence why he targeted the League because they are the symbols of Justice in DC comics.
If Arrow uses him then he'll be reduced to a cop killer/vigilante hunter to stay true to his theme. In that case just go with Onomatopoeia,a character created for that actual purpose.

My thoughts exactly. I don't care what characters they use, I just want to be entertained, and I have been.

There really isn't one comic Arrow is based off of. Writers have taken little things here and there. I know they've mentioned Andy Diggle's GA: Year One (Also where they got Diggle's name from), and Longbow Hunters for the island stuff.

And as you can probably see from this thread, for the present day Oliver, they've taken many different stories from both the Green Arrow and even the Batman lore (some people don't like very much, myself included).

If you're looking for a good GA comic, i'd recommend Jeff Lemire's run on Green Arrow.

It probably have something to do with some believing the show won't do justice to certain comic adaptation of villains. It nothing more of a easy way to trash the show

I heard they were changing the name of the show next season to Overwatch
