The Ben hate just devolved into Gadot hate + general WB hate.

Also other film crew was at the game. DJ desjardin, the VFX guy, was there with his family. But i am not posting pics, out of respect for their privacy.

It's funny, you know how everyone said when he was announced that they wouldn't be able to see Bruce/Batman and just Ben Affleck? Well now all I see IS Bruce! haha
I dont think that's what they meant. That statement has to do with acting. Of course he LOOKS like Bruce Wayne. Especially now.

I still think the "Ben is a bad actor" argument is a load of crap. Has he been in bad films? Absolutely. More importantly, has HE been bad in them? Yes, a few (Paycheck comes to mind). But he's also been very good in others. While he might not have gotten Oscar noms for his performances in The Town, Argo, Changing Lanes and Hollywoodland, he was still very good in those films. Most actors have a bad performance somewhere in their history. Many have multiple performances. Hell, Hillary Swank has two Oscars, yet has delivered some of the worst performances I've ever seen in other films, one of which was a Nolan movie.

As for whether Affleck will make a good Batman, I can't say. But watching him in some of his previous roles (particularly The Town) makes me think that he can, if the script and direction are good.

I forgot about Changing Lanes! I haven't watched it in years and years but I remember him being pretty solid in that film as well. And I liked the film.

Yeah, it was a really good movie. Ben and Sam both did a bang-up job in it.

I still think the "Ben is a bad actor" argument is a load of crap.

I think a lot of people require an actor to have been gifted some kind of seminal, overtly actor-friendly role in order to accept that they are even competent. Just witness the turn-around in perceptions of Matthew Mcconaughey and Heath Ledger.

Appreciation of the art of acting is entirely a point of view. We can't say that those who like Affleck's acting are more right and saner than those who don't like his acting.

People's preferences are of course a matter of opinion and thus subjective.

I never knew Matthew Mcconaughey was viewed as a bad actor"?

Which is kinda funny, cause I like him, and mainly because of Dazed and Confused, which is one reason why I like Affleck so much. I love that movie. :hehe:

@slumcat Yes, and the point I made is compatible with that.

He got a lot of flack for going the easy payday rom-com route, and because he was doing them as opposed to films which showcased his talent, over the course of time people seemed to forget that he was actually a decent actor and he became a bad one by proxy. By and large I feel the same thing is happening to Affleck. People focus on the mis-steps that have occurred in his career (Daredevil, Armageddon, Gigli, the whole 'Bennifer' thing) and somehow he is a bad actor because of them.

Matt totally had that stigma against him for quite a while. Movies like Magic Mike don't really help :P

Ben has a VICIOUS stigma against him. Gigli was a bad movie. But nobody would be in that movie and come out clean.

I think Gone Girl will be the film that makes people say "Wow, he can really act." assuming many see it.

Dazed and Confused is, like, one of the best movies ever.

The Red Sox lost 8-6. Back on a big losing streak. Ben is probably mad...like the rest of Red Sox nation.
He can use that anger for his performance in the movie.

Magic Mike is his most acclaimed performance, even more than Dallas Buyers Club. It is of course with an Oscar winning director and a very well reviewed film.

He won the Best Supporting Actor award from the New York Film Critics Circle and National Society of Film Critics, which are two of the most prestigious and high brow critics prizes in the country. He also won the Independent Spirits awards for that performance.

For what its worth, I think he should have won the damn Oscar for it and not for Dallas Buyers Club.

I didn't say MM was a BAD movie. It also has a stigma of being the ManButtMovie. Like BrokeBack Mountain in that sense ;)

Of course, common sense should tell you to stay away from Jlo.

Affleck is so Bruce Wayne in those photos.

Oh, and for anyone who says Affleck can't act needs to watch Phantoms lol. He was the bomb, yo.
