If Iron Man had a team up film with Thor, I'd expect Thor's name to be in the title. The placement of the names means nothing. You're reaching.

You really cant be serious. No way in a million years would thor go over iron man over the title, there is no contest, one is much much popular than the other. The title is the first thing that people see, its in the poster, in all advertisement, its extremely important.

I have to admit that batman vs superman sounds phonetically better than superman vs batman, but still i cant stop thinking of a double meaning in that title, they could have gone with Worlds Finest instead of that weird title

That has nothing to do with the direction of the movie though, so much as it does the incompetence of some of the interviewers, this interview in particular was pretty bad, all we got was some rewording of info we already knew about Batman, learned that Ben Affleck is tall, learned that they're making more DC movies (which, like the previous items, we already knew), and the interviewer payed no attention to Supes nor did he appear to have done any research on the film prior to the interview. Roven went out of his way to give us the daughter of Zeus bit, which is the only actual thing we learned from the entire interview.

I did find the "much more social animal" bit somewhat intriguing. I'm curious as to what Roven meant by that. Are we finally going to see the well-respected philanthropic side of Bruce Wayne on film or will it be just a different take on his "playboy" persona? Food for thought.

The controversy is all but gone at this point. The "big" media outlets seem to be fixated on it and I can tell it annoys Ben a little especially when he was on Good Morning America and had to tell them that he is also getting rushed by people telling him how excited they are.

Especially now after Gone Girl it has all but solidified with the public that Ben is on a winning streak of great performances.

I guess I just don't see the need of a year and a half of dreading that Superman is going to be sidelined. It just seems like a huge waste of time to me, the film is what it is. If Superman only has 10 minutes in the film like the haters claim then that's that, I'm not going to endlessly whine about Superman's screentime until I read a review that says "Superman only has ten minutes of screentime, this is a Batman movie." Believe you me, I won't like that either but I actually want to wait to see what reviews say first and then decide for myself after seeing it. I haven't decided that I'm going to love this film, I could easily dislike it.

Yes I agree with people that Warners are far too Batman obsessed and have to build up their other characters, that's a completely legitimate criticism and sure I wanted another solo Superman movie first but I'm just rolling with the punches on the latter because I did want to see B and S in a film together and hoping this movie is a success so WB can get their **** together on the former.

I'm taking it up to him being more of the well-respected philanthropist. I DO think we will see some of the eccentric playboy side of Bruce, though not as much as in TDK Trilogy.

Yeah I think Gone Girl has largely changed things. People are warming up to the idea very quickly.

That is true, but Ben didn't need Gone Girl to prove he was the right cast. He was good in other things but people focused on what was popular to focus on just for the laughs. Nonetheless, the childish anger has died down.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an awful title, and should never have left the trash bin of the marketing department.

Still, no sense in worrying yourself over it. Cavill has been filming in Detroit non-stop since May, whereas Affleck has taken a number of breaks to spend time with his family in LA. It's clear which of the two has more to do in this film.

"Henry, what can you tell us about Batman?" :o
You're too late. It's already happened. Henry complimented Ben, but his body language kind of told another story.

I found it interesting and telling how Ben Affleck complimented "the competition" Chris Evans and Hemsworth's physiques in an interview, yet couldn't be assed to mention his co-star Henry Cavill. It might not have been a deliberate shading on his part, but who knows.

Ben Affleck could be the best Batman since Keaton. As for looks no one has come close to looking as comic book accurate as Affleck (even the height is accurate, i think Superman is like 6'5 in the comics so he towers a bit over him). I dont know why does he have to tower over Superman and he be the one with the experience and all the lessons, i always liked that they were the same age and had to go through the same situations , almost like brothers they never had. It will be so weird to see a taller Batman, it just doesn't add up

Superman is only an inch taller than Batman in the comics, so he dosen't really tower over Batman.

Well that actually makes a lot of sense, didn't know that. Yeah its weird that Affleck didnt compliment Henrys Physique. I think he looked better than Evans and Hemsworth, not that they dont look in shape, just that Cavills physique look more natural. The other two i dont know, something always looks off like artificial, dont know how to explain it properly

But... Armageddon, Gigli...Bennifer !!

I really like the fact that Batman is taller than Superman. Not because I'm a Batman fan, but I believe it's a good way to visually balance out the fact that he's the physically weakest member of the Justice League.

Well, after Green Lantern that is. But, unlike Batman, he has powers.

It is a nice little visual play.

The bigger, taller man is actually the weaker of the two physically.

He doesn't have to be; it's just a creative decision on the part of the studio this time around. In literary adaptation, you're always going to find some deviation from the source material.

If you parse through some of the Bruce Timm DCAU episodes, you'll find that Conroy's experienced Batman is actually quite a few years older than Daly's rookie Superman. The dynamic they share on that show might actually give us some insight into the minds of Snyder, Roven, Terrio et al -- what they have in store for these characters.

I think in the end they just wanted Ben Affleck in the role. His height probably wasn't a big factor overall in their selection and they are just using the height difference he does have with Cavill as sort of a selling point in a way now after the fact.

Or maybe to preemptively address the potential fan boy complaints of "Superman should be taller than Batman!".

I disagree, cause they could've just used camera tricks....they wanted that height difference

They played on the same visual dynamic with WW and Supes in New Frontier:

Another interesting part of the interview is that Nolan apparently played a part in picking Affleck. I honestly thought it was mainly the WB execs.

I don't know if Roven said that to just make it seem Nolan has some involvement in this because he sure was struggling describing Nolan's role for BvS. I'm sure it's quite minimal. I still think the WB execs had a much bigger part in picking Affleck (which isn't a bad thing in this case because I think it was a great decision).

The problem with the 'dread thread' (changed to the skepticism thread) is that it was more, "Marvel vs DC" "The many things wrong with MOS" and "How DC needs to be like Marvel". There were legitimate skepticisms here and there but rarely. At least that's how it looked to me.

The problem is how they think they know things where they really have no idea in some of them. They have their thread it would be better if they stay in there... not turning all the threads as their favorite one with their "legitimate knowledge".
