From what I've seen fans have been quick to move on from Nolan's Batman, so I'm not sure how the accusation can be made that people think he can be only portrayed one way.

I specifically referenced a certain faction within the larger fanbase; I'm not talking about our community.

There are different breeds: those who are familiar with the comics and animated TV shows, who tend to frequent message boards like this; and those who know little about the source material that became overnight fans so to speak with the Nolan-Batman films. I've found that many [not all] in the latter-mentioned camp tend to believe there's only one way Batman can be depicted on film. They're especially known for propagating their views all over social media.

You should have heard what he said to Liv Tyler. I'm no prude, but that dude clearly has some issues.

I turned off my tv after the trailer aired. What did he say to Liv?

It involves spoilers pertaining to a recent episode of The Leftovers, so I'll use spoiler-tags.

In the aforementioned episode, Liv's character has intercourse with a twenty-something-year-old guy. Liv herself gave birth days before the scene was filmed.

Kimmel said something along the lines of, "Oh.. it must have been weird for you. Just having had a baby taken out of you, and then getting another baby put right back into you." And he gave her this creepy look, as he said it.

Did he lick his lips as well?

Looks like they slapped a ton of makeup on him. How else to explain that almost mannequin face? He seemed very stiff. Maybe he has back problems.

Even the Joker would say "That's too much!"

Combined with the poorly edited trailer it was a bad skit compared to last week with Evans and Downey Jr.

Affleck looks bloody weird there, to much makeup?

Affleck plays Batman like "badass" Bruce Wayne (real persona, not playboy) in Batsuit. Kinda like how Tony Stark is in Iron Man suit.

Bale played Batman different than his "badass" Bruce Wayne. More theatrical & animalistic when is in costume the way he moves, talks, looks at people, long pauses etc.

Different approaches. Different tastes. I prefer the way Bale plays any given day over this. (I'm not talking about which will be more faithful to comics, just acting wise)

Oh by the way, voice is not similar to Bale/Nolan's Batman imo. It sounds more roboaffleck than death metal voice of Bale. I would prefer natural voice maybe something like Keaton's or Begins voice.

Too early to be sure though but thats what i see so far

yeah he seemed very uncomfortable to be there. maybe he just was very sick and they slapped a giant amount of makeup on him to hide how sick the poor sap was [ flu ].

perhaps indeed back problems, they are very very straining.

i felt for him there. he looks like he's feeling nausious even and having a blistering headache. i think when he could leave he was very happy to go and went straight to bed or something.

if what his body language is saying is what i've been experiencing before, too, i know i would!

or he was in a very sad mood and emotionally really hurt at that moment [ perhaps due to his divorce? ]

Ben was pretending to be uncomfortable on Kimmel.

He was acting.

It appears that he had a really close shave. Some barbers can make you look like a newborn if that's what you want. Plus, as others have already said, his eyes were kind of bloodshot as well, so I'm guessing he was spent from traveling. Frankly, he doesn't look much different there than he did on the set of Live by Night. I don't know this for a fact, but it's possible that he recently put on a little weight for said role.

I think Affleck as Bruce and Batman was the thing that disheartened me the most. It was so... there. I expected if anything his Bruce would leave something to be desired, but his Batman, even voice didn't thrill me. It just sounded like he was doing a Batman impression at one point. Say what you want about Bale, but there was effort in that growling dammit. His Bruce felt like he was acting as someone gruff and tough.

It's only one scene so it's hard to really judge, but the more I watch it the more I'm left feeling like Affleck is really doing nothing particularly special in this role. It just feels like Ben Affleck as Ben Affleck.

^I have to respectfully diagree on that guys :). I'm intrigued by this Bruce Wayne.

It surely does not feel like Ben Affleck is playing Ben Affleck

theres almost 2 decades of history behind this Batman that we have yet to uncover, he's probably the most intriguing Bruce Wayne since Keaton

Get outta here with that nonsense! Ben has been great in everything shown so far, and FYI, we've barely seen anything. How about we wait until we see the movie to compare Affleck and Bale.

I found it interesting that his Bruce Wayne public persona didn't try to deflect or act aloof to the whole Batman thing when Clark questioned him. The Keaton,Kilmer, and Bale versions, Bruce acted aloof to apathetic about "the Batman" in public and at functions like that, so for him to verbally spar with Clark in that back and fourth over the issue I found interesting.

Then again, I suspect that at that moment they've basically know each others secret identities. It could be that this Bruce Wayne's public persona will be closer to the humanitarian and Gotham's favorite son as opposed to the foppish playboy persona that Bale's had or the awkward recluse that Keaton's was.

I'm not sure yet where Affleck will place in my rankings, but I think he's going to be good.

To be fair, it's two different approaches. Bale's Bruce was a complete altar ego in order to make people believe that he's the complete opposite of Batman. Affleck seems to be going for the Dark Knight Returns Bruce who is a massive man but comes off like an intelligent businessman who probably got where he is by doing more than just taking over his fathers business. That's the vibe im getting, already. I could be wrong once i see more footage. But i think we're in for a very suave, smart, badass Bruce Wayne in his mid-40s. Batman will be a lower tone in voice but it's pretty much the same guy minus the smiling and suave feel. He's going to speak a little lower and gravelly (more mechanical though), but speak and behave like a regular guy in a batsuit. Keaton played Batman more like a silent ghost who just creeped up on you. Bale played it like he turns into a complete animal, a complete switch. Affleck will play it almost the same as his private Bruce Wayne when he speaks to Alfred probably. The only shift will be the mechanical voice that we hear.

Im honestly fine with all three.

Look at this babyface from Kimmel:

Yeah, he did look a little uncomfortable, and I noticed that kind of bloodshot eye. Poor guy.

But I gotta admit...his look is kind of cute. The babyface actually makes him look younger.

I've seen a lot of discussion pertaining to Ben's Batman voice, but the way he speaks as Bruce Wayne deserves some recognition as well. Normally, Ben has a higher pitch to his voice, but, in the trailer, it comes across more gravelly and emphatic.

It only felt that way to me when he said "I thought she was with you."
