I think Ben's just at that age where he gets a slight double chin if he isn't watching his calorie intake; and it's more noticeable when he's clean-shaven. That's understandable, though, as he hasn't been training as hard in recent months.

Agree to disagree, but his batman for me was half arsed in TDK and TDKR. His Bruce stayed pretty consistent though.

For me that's exactly what he did, his physique in the last two films were a lot smaller, the voice was silly and he seemed to be just going through the motions until there was a big climatic scene. That's not lame if I criticize something I found wrong with it. Also for the record I didn't say Nolan did, however if we're discussing TDKR then yes... He did. For me anyway and I'm not going to sugar coat it. Now this isn't the proper section so I'll render any further points of my own irrelevant.

I don't think the TDK movies were a case of Bale phoning it in as much as Bale not really getting to showcase Batman like he did in Begins. Combine with post-production tweaking his voice, and moments that are legitimately overacted (Nolan could probably have used different takes) and I think the problem lies with the fact that Batman didn't "need" to be "cool" in the BB sequels, and so portions that were just passable made it to film.

Wheras Begins seemed to relish at the thought of Batman being the coolest one in the room. That sounds like a weird answer, but I'm tired, so this is the best you're gonna get.

Huge Batman is an artistic choice. Not necessary.

I hold that as the single most amazing "Batman" sequence in any of the movies. Simply brilliant, and so "Batman".

As impeccable as Batfleck looks, I'll be very very impressed if they manage to match or top that scene. That scene was the perfect storm of tension, score, intensity, and Bat-prowess. It was really built up by the whole movie before it, as it was kinda the first time Batman actually outdid the Joker.

I actually think he did a commendable job cutting for BvS; I have no problem with the way his face looks in the cowl, especially since what we're getting is an older Batman who's no longer in his prime.

Indeed, if he continues to look like this in future DCEU films, you won't hear any complaints from me.

I would hope that people aren't expecting him to be in Bruce Wayne shape all the time, though. As an actor, one is required to conform him/herself to whatever a given role entails.

And, yes, this topic was beaten to death a long time ago. lol

I still think the cowl should have been made a bit thinner. I can see the thickness the most with the cheekbones.
