The actual fight being something of the reverse of this sequence could be good, I think. Batman on the front foot and angry. With Superman defiant but a little worried as to how this mortal is managing to inflict damage on him.

I'll be damned if anyone calls Affleck 'overacting' now. :cmad:

That's why I want Superman to eventually fight back, viciously, and have WW restrain him.

That Superman underestimated Batman, and Batman chose to fight a moral person. Having Batman beat up Superman mercilessly, only for Supes to just start to break out the heat vision, with WW saving both their lives would be a powerful thing to say.

You're right, 4 minutes is long for a dream. I could see it being less than that.

What we saw last night was 49 seconds, including all of the title screens that were cut into the footage. Beyond that, I'm guess this dream will just have a small amount of build-up to last night's footage. Batman shows up, gets captured by the Superman thugs. There's no chance that this is part of a 10-minute sequence that will send this film's story to a grinding halt to show visions of the future.

You are right that it might not be that long as I initially suspected. Anyway, I personally wouldn't count out any of the two possibilities right now. I am more inclined to believe it's Bruce's paranoid dream, but it's far from impossible that it might be a vision that is one of a key scenes in the film. We'll see. Again, hopefully tomorrow we'll get more clues.

Deep. It seems that without the mask, Batman has to put up EVEN more of a front to make up for it.

A lot of deep ideas in that one moment of performance, I'll tell you.

Well, that's at least my impression.

Also, I think it's natural for Batman to combat fear (and lets be honest, Batman or not, that is one scary bastard that has him in his mercy :woot:) with anger. It's the way he ticks.

I agree with Shape that the sequence is not going to be 10 minutes. But I think it could be easily 4-5, depending on what happens after Supes takes Batman's mask off. We also don't know how the whole thing starts.

Ill give Ben the benefit of the doubt in this scene, but by the way the teaser was cut, the way the last trailer was cut too...it DOES look like Ben is overacting. I can tell he's "acting" instead of being the character all pissed. It's like "look at me im raging pissed!! cant you see!!??". That's the vibe i get, but like i said, hopefully it's just the way they're cutting the trailers. Every shot of Bruce so far is a "im beyond pissed look at me make angry facial expressions!". Not trying to troll or anything like that, it's just how i feel. I usually feel that way about Ben anyway. He's never been very subtle.

The Batman stuff is good so far though, just having trouble with his Wayne bits.

I honestly think the dream either ends at the same moment that the trailer does, or very shortly afterwards.

Affleck hasn't looked much like Ben Affleck in all BvS footage so far. That's not to say that he looks sooo much like Bruce Wayne or Batman (which he really does) he just doesn't look like himself. I reckon it's makeup or I genuinely haven't seen him act in a role like this compared to his other movies. This brooding, aging, paranoid, superhuman being. He just fits well. I'm finding myself not thinking, "That's Ben Affleck playing a great Bruce/Batman!" but rather, "that's Batman/Bruce and he isn't happy." It's a bit surreal because that's still Ben Affleck but I can't see him. Haha.

So far, visually, he's a very good pick and that's helping a lot with truly imagining him as The Batman. Not saying this will propel him to pull off the greatest take on the character of all time but he's going to pull off something pretty interesting just character wise alone.

I don't wanna hear anything about Ben Affleck overacting in a film that is based off of stuff that was meant for children to read

and don't make me pull up clips of someone overacting as Batman, we'll be here all day

I love it that the first shot of Batman is indisputable proof that he can turn his head.

^ Umm..many comics aren't for kids anymore.

That being said, I think Batman lends itself to hammy acting.

"DO I LOOK LIKE A COP?!!!" comes to mind.

To each his own in regards to Ben, but how can any Bale fan even type this? Genuinely. I figured they would be the last fans to criticize about overdoing anything.

I thought Affleck was fine. If anyone was overdoing it a little, it was Cavill. That sneer of his, while appropriate, was almost comical at times.

Man, I have to disagree with you there. Everything I've seen of his performance so far implies an inner storm. There's a LOT going on beneath the surface. Though, I will give you the benefit of the doubt: all we've seen is snippets of footage. Context is everything. That said, nothing I've seen has indicated over-acting.

Also, though there are certainly not-so-subtle performances given by Affleck, I can't for the life of me remember when he last gave one, but it had to have been almost ten years ago. Gone Girl, The Town, and Argo are all GREAT performances, while Runner Runner is just blah (certainly not over-acting, though).

I agree with all of this and I do believe it's Ben's performance that makes him look so un-Affleck-like.

It's pretty mind-bogglineg at times, isn't it?

Two head-turns in one short scene, no less!

It's a weird thing to be excited about, but it's been a long time coming for many of us.

It's funny, but I feel like he's doing everything in his power to make himself blend into the role. I mean, that's true of a lot of actors..but it seems like he's influencing the hair and make-up people for his role as Wayne, and letting Wilkinson's costume enable him to move a certain way as Batman.

How was Bale not overacting with that voice of his?

He didn't have the voice as Bruce Wayne. Im only talking about Ben's scenes as Bruce so far.

To each his own in regards to Ben, but how can any Bale fan even type this? Genuinely. I figured they would be the last fans to criticize about overdoing anything.
Bale was subtle as Bruce Wayne, and not every shot was a ANGER FACE as Bruce. That's what we've been given with Ben so far. We get it, Bruce Wayne is an angry man, now i want to see some variety please.

I'd argue that the TDK films probably had more time to depict a wide variety of emotion. I personally think the "angry shots" won't be all the shots of Bruce in the movie.
