I don't want to blame Bale for not working out (that's clearly untrue) but Batfleck's arms show definition MUCH more and looks like he could rip off TDKR's Bane's head with his bare hands. I blame the plated suit of Rises.

Everbody ripping Bale for wrong reasons. It's like stating Keaton's Batman being so cartoonish because of the actor.
Wally Pfister said how they ditched hero poses/shots after Batman Begins. Color palette changed as well. They had influenced from Blade Runner (as well as music wise) for Begins. Heat for TDK. Nolan wanted to stay away from more classic comic booky Batman look/poses and try more realistic approach from costume to Gotham City look.
Batman Begins had more mix of comic book/realistic look because it was first time for Nolan & Wally as superhero movie directors. After major success of Begins they didn't have to play safe and TDK & TDKR had even more realistic looking batman,city and photography. If Director of Photography says that, i believe it.
Begins had some iconic Batman shots and Bale looked great in it.
I like what i see from Batfleck but it has nothing to with Affleck yet. We don't know his voice or acting as real Bruce Wayne/Playboy Wayne and Batman. We didn't see any of his acting let alone scenes requires great performance like some previous Nolan movies.
Praising Affleck for his acting so far, no more different praising a cosplayer because he looks like Wayne/Batman.
At this point, all praises and criticisms should go to Snyder/Fong & Wilkinson.
With all that said , I'm hopeful for Batfleck. Even though Affleck isn't as talented as an actor compared to Bale, he is not a horrible actor and Snyder's movies don't demand a lot performance from their actors. Usually they are full of action & beautiful imagery.
Sometimes you don't need to be top talent actor to be best at it. Clint Eastwood as a cowboy in western better than Russell Crowe even though Crowe is 10X better actor. Same goes for Arnold Schwarzenegger in his best movies.

This still gives me chills. Clearly the BB suit and cowl were largely superior to TDK suit, but I still liked it for what it was.
I will hesitate complete confidence in Batfleck, but you gotta admit, he looks excellent as classic Batman. I hope to God we get to hear his Bat voice in tomorrow's trailer.
With all that said, Bale did an amazing job as Bats and even better as Bruce Wayne. He was his own great version of Batman just as Michael Keaton was his great version of Batman. They both were good in their own significant ways and I can't wait to see what Ben brings to the table.
