If I had to say anyone is overacting in that 5 sec gif it would be Henry. Ben looks amazingly fierce.

It's simple, really. The cowl covers the upper part of the head, putting more emphasis on/accentuating the portion of the face below the nose. As I mentioned before, aside from his mole and somewhat large chin (which is something we're accustomed to seeing in most popular iterations of the Batman character and also isn't nearly as big as some have been saying), Affleck is kind of generic looking -- in a good way. That's why he disappears so well behind the cowl. Bale, by contrast, is somewhat gaunt-faced; Kilmer has somewhat full lips. The more discernible your physical traits, the more easy it is for you to be identified.

I think the overacting by Henry is on purpose. That's just how Batman sees Superman. A scary and extremely dangerous god-like being. A monster in a nightmare. When you see a monster in your dream, it's actually you. A side of you that you don't like, that scares you.

My thoughts. If he didn't mean to overact and is...it still works for that scene.

He did a fantastic job in MoS so I have zero concerns about Henry. Affleck on the other hand...

Based on what evidence have you got misgivings about Affleck?

We've not heard him utter nary a word as Batman.

His Bruce is fine.

EDIT: It is true that he said the "Do you bleed" comment in the teaser. That was pretty cool. I'm just still a bit leary of too much "Dardevil-esqueness" coming out of him when his voice isn't modulated.

A movie from 2003? Sure pal.

So if he'd made a quality superhero film out of DD in 2003, would it be used as evidence of why he's great?

If anything, it's reasonable to consider this given its the only thing close to Batman he's ever done.

He IS Batman to me.

Eh, that movie was largely a product of it's time. Affleck is not at fault.

His normal voice just made more gravelly would probably be fine as Batman, and I highly doubt something like the voice will get screwed up. They've seen peoples' ongoing and pedantic and obsessive critiques of Bale's voice - I'm certain they paid attention to it. Affleck's voice in general is pretty decent, so it being average-acceptable is probably the bare minimum we can expect. It's not like his Daredevil voice was horrible, so I doubt we've got much to be concerned about.

We also don't know for certain who said "Do you bleed?" if I'm not mistaken? It's probably Batman, but it could've been clever editing again.

This line of thinking might have merit if Affleck was the only thing wrong with Daredevil. Problem is there was a cartload of stuff like the writing that detracted from the movie far more than Affleck's performance did. I don't feel like it's an accurate premise to use to speculate about his BvS performance.

Pretty sure it's coming from Batman, as in the German teaser trailer the line is spoken by Ben's voice actor (modulated).

Didn't Batman ask Superman if he bleeds? So he has spoken as Batman; in the Comic Con trailer he speaks the most out of the 3 heroes.

I'm guessing that, due to his voice being modulated in that scene, some fans still need convincing.
