I believe Ben will be an amazing Batman. Sad to see so many people turned off by it just because they don't like him. This guy has a lot of haters. I wonder if that can affect the movie's reception in any way.

A loud minority.

I don't know. We will see. It's still surprising to me the amount of people i know that absolutely hate him. And i'm talking about people who generally don't care that much about movies and don't usually have anything against specific actors. But they just don't like him. I wonder why. I think he is the perfect choice for Batman. Specially after watching the trailer. Great Bruce Wayne, great Batman.

I think Ben Affleck will be a great Batman. At worst he will be serviceable. At best he'll be iconic.

There just people who like to hate because there sheepdog mentality is pathetic , some people in this world can't think for themselves so jump on the badwagon and think there fitting in with the other sheep to be cool, happens in school the workplace ,thats just the way it is .Like yourself im feeling Afflecks performance so far regarding trailers/pics etc . He will be a solid introduction to the hall of fame of actors to have played the dark knight over the years. I will look forward to those haters eating humble pie.

I agree :)

I personally think that Batfleck will probably be the best live action Batman, regardless of film quality :ilv:

I tend to root for the underdog to begin with. I was a bit baffled about the hate on Affleck, and for me it actually cemented a wish to see the guy knock the ball out of the park. I haven't seen him in that many things but enjoyed his performaces in what I did see. I think he's got the right ingredients for the role, at a good time for the kind of portrayal I think he will give (in the evolution of the character in film and TV).

Having watched the BvS "sneak peek" again, I have to say, this particular frame just might be my favorite shot of Affleck in the cowl. Just look at it! That right there, my friends, is The Batman come to life!

So does anyone have any idea of what role Batman will play in the final battle against Doomsday? Superman and WW will obviously do the bulk of the fighting.

Now I'm kind of glad they didn't go with the white eyes like many of us wanted. We wouldn't be able to see those little eye movements like in the sneak peak that makes his portrayal great.

it really is uncanny. We are so lucky to have this guy in the DCEU. that is the batman and you can't persuade me.

This will probably be my favorite image for quite some time. I can't see Affleck at ALL, only Batman :mnm:

Visually yes, he's the Batman. He's Bruce Wayne. It's pretty cool. But it all means nothing until we see his performance. A few clips as of now doesn't tell us the answer, yet. And if he really is fantastic, and these movies turn out meh, that will be frustrating because the wait for a solo film will feel longer for me.

I dont know about all of you guys, but as a Batman fan first and foremost, i would have preferred this Batman in a new trilogy instead of what we're getting. Ill feel shafted if he only does like 1 solo film and 4 team-ups with Snyder. That would be a waste of a great Batman imo. It's like yeaaah we got the Batman from the comics (not jumping to this conclusion yet of course) but he only did 1 real Batman movie! Man that would suck.

^ Batman has had seven solo films. I think him being in mostly team ups will still show plenty of him as a character, and not at the expense of other characters.

My favorite screengrab from the sneak peek as well. The way he looks over with his eyes before turning his head was pure Batman.

Still, i don't really need or want to see the other superheroes or Batman fighting aliens for 4 movies, with maybe 1 scene per film (MAYBE) dedicated to him taking down a Gotham criminal. It's a taste thing, i know, but i hope it's not just 1 solo movie if he's going to be good.

if the rumors of WB holding a Batfleck trilogy in high priority are true, I think we'll get it.

To my knowledge, nothing has been officially disclosed about his role in the battle. As curious as I am to know the answer to your question, I'm kind of glad I don't. I want to be surprised by Batman's ingenuity in that scene (and others), assuming that's what we'll get.

There is a scene in the trailer of Batman dodging a doomsday heat vision blast, so he could be distracting Doomsday.

Also if Zodsday is also weakened by kryptonite due to his kryptonian origin and batman where to have access kryptonite, then he could be useful

He's holding his grenade launcher from the gadget expo, but his car looks totaled and things don't look so hot for Batwing either.

If he had weaponry designed to stagger Superman (not outside the range of possibility considering how the A-10 Warthogs managed to knock Kryptonains around a bit), we may just see him provide some distraction and formulate a plan to remove Doomsday from the equation.

You know, I hadn't even considered that this version of Doomsday is, in fact, a Kryptonian. You're right that he may possess the same vulnerabilities as Superman.

I think I'm going to have a closer look at Batman's gear from the SDCC pics we got this year.

Seeing this, with the jacket and the lack of visible ears, you know who I'm reminded of?
