This can never be natural, LOL.

But yeah, my hedges are bet on Butler. Didn't it say that the person refused to train the actor because of the steroids? So it's probably Twight bailed on Butler for his 'roid use.

Affleck is pretty built already if he starts working out 2-3 months before shooting, shooting up won't be necessary in the slightest

Not directed at you specifically, but towards the discussion:

It's my personal belief after what I've seen and read on the subject that pretty much every actor who has to gain a lot of muscle for a part is on some form of steroids whether they want to admit it or not.
The question is, should we care? They're actors, not athletes.
Who cares if their muscles are "natural" in a science fiction fantasy film with outlandish costumes, creatures, and gadgets. It just goes back to the silly idea that the actor has to somehow actually be like the character they're playing to be believable.

As long as they look good when the cameras are rolling I don't give a damn if they're taking a side of HGH and Steroids with their daily protein.
Henry Cavill's trainer Mark Twight had this to say about it.

"The guy who uses steroids and admits to it earns more respect from me than the guy who uses but insists he doesn't and wants his fans to believe he did things the hard way."

Not talking about myself, but this is what rubs people the wrong way. People who practice recreational body-building and fitness training feel frustrated when the actor says on natural television that he did it by eating chicken breast and broccoli and that he did it completely naturally. When using FX, they tell you it is FX, when using make-up, they tell you it is make-up, they tell you when it is make believe, only in case of muscle, they never tell you it was PED, they tell you it is all natural.

Am I the only one that liked Affleck in Sum of All Fears?

Funny story.
I was in the Navy stationed on a carrier out of San Diego. One of the other carriers was 2 weeks from coming home from a six month deployment.
Hollywood treated my base to a free screening of the movie before it came out.
The carrier that was 2 weeks from coming home was featured prominently in this movie. (If you remember the movie you know where I am going with this).
The carrier comes on the screen.
The audience applauds.
Minuteds later missiles hit the carrier and sink it.
The audience goes silent.
A kid behind me asks of Daddy was still coming home.

Yep.

But I think Henry was all natural :)

chicken breast and broccoli makes you built?

only problem is he was also trained by mark twilight who trained henry and he was pretty vocal in that article
Dang! Actually here's the thing. Butler trained some with Twight but then he went and trained with a Venezuelan body-builder Franco LiCastro. Butler said that he was "aiming for the stars" and wanted "to make people's jaw drop when they saw his body".

So I still think Butler satisfies all the criteria mentioned in that article.

But just to be clear - taking steroids does not lessen Butler's or other steroid user's accomplishment. You still have to bust your ass and train like a madman to get the results they got.

So it is still an achievement. The rub lies in the fact that they don't admit to using steroids.

Fair point, and I can totally respect that. It reminds me of the whole black swan controversy. It's BS that they can't admit it's a bit of smoke and mirrors, but I blame that on our celebrity hero worship culture for needing our actors to be these incredibly talented and versatile heroes whether they're onscreen or off.

You're constantly ****ting on that diet, so all that water weight just vanishes. :o
Haha. When the actors gleefully tell you that they were on a 5000 calories diet or a 6000 calories diet, they always fail to mention that with such a big diet, you also have to take giant freaking 1 kg dumps in the toilet.

But that wouldn't be too glamorous in an interview I guess. :woot:

Could he be talking about Tom Hardy? I remember on an interview in the UK he talked about Warrior and TDKR and he said all he did was eat chicken and broccoli....

Rock in Pain & Gain and Hercules looks like there is more steroid in his veins than blood. It looks like he's sweating steroids instead of perspiration.

thats why the cast of Fast 6 now pops on steroid tests

Of course it lessens your achievements. It's far easier to train hard when your body isn't breaking down from it and you recuperate well each day. I've competed at fairly high levels in martial arts and I know how hard it can be to train, and I know people that have taken short cuts and heard about their experience directly from them.

Your statement is like saying that winning a bicycle race with a small engine helping you isn't lessening your achievement just because the engine isn't strong enough to do all the work itself. The point is that you had it easier than others.

Women purge to lose weight, we profusely crap.

The Rock has admitted to using steroids in the past (during college), but denied doing so for Pain and Gain, and, given the type of person he's proven himself to be, I firmly believe he would have admitted to doing so if he had. There's also the fact that the WWE Wellness Policy cracks down on stuff like that and he wouldn't have been able to compete at the events he did if he had been using steroids.

He did joke about steroids on Twitter after being injuries at WrestleMania, though.

I don't understand why people complain about actors using steroids to look good for a role. They put on a wig, makeup, get some help from cgi and lighting.....Oooh they're cool....they use steroids....they ain't really a superhero!!!!!

I am talking about actors/models/body builders. They are not competing for an Olympic medal. And they do have to train very very very hard. The bigger they get, the harder they have to lift to get results.

Their getting big and ripped isn't causing anyone else to lose something right? In sports it would be wrong.
