Chapter 7: "Out of Time" Discussion 11/5/07

Heroes has never gotten that low of a rating. And its hard to compare 18 to 10 when I was talking about Greys having 18 million viewers and Heroes having 10 million. Last half of the season for S1 of Heroes averaged around 14 million viewers. This season the lowest rating they have gotten (that I ahve seen so far) is 10 million from a 14 million season premire. Thats not bad at all.

Its not good either. Especially when you look at it as a drop in 4 million in such a small time.

Killing HRG for me is a jump the shark moment. I understand thats not the way for everyone, but for me it is. He is the best character on the show. To get rid of him is a bad move in my eyes.

At this point though, I don't see who else it could be. I don't see how they can go back on it without making viewers see the paintings as pointless.

I think it could work. I think it could mark a huge turning point for Claire.

As a side note, I really think Peter needs to die. He's too powerful for his own good. I love the character, but they're risking him.

Dudes, calm down. HRG is not going to die. It's obvious...West is going to sacrifice himself to save him. That's a definite comicbook cliche that they would use on Heroes.

There's no way they are killing HRG or Peter. The fanbases for those characters would go crazy and there goes the show.

Claire, HRG, Peter, and Hiro are the safest characters on this show. Either because of their powers or fanbase.

And Claire because of her contract.

And personally, I don't want them playing favorites. No one should be safe. Raise the stakes and don't play by the rules to appeal to fanboys.

And a lot of people have dwindling support for those characters save HRG.

:wow: I don't like the character, but thats just rude.

Extremely rude! some people just have no class. I mean I may not like a character, but were I to meet the actor I wouldnt say it to their face and insult their ability. Just Classless...:csad:

Who would've thought 24 would have the balls to kill off David Palmer and Michelle Dessler, two of the most popular characters in the same episode? Then a few episodes later kill off the second most popular character (Tony Almedia). Hell, no one saw Teri's death coming in season 1.

I think the week after next will define what kind of show Heroes is going to be for the rest of its run. As much as I hate to say it, if they don't kill off HRG, it will be the type of show that always plays it safe. That never takes risks. It already took a step in that direction when they didn't kill off Sylar, Peter, or Nathan last year.

If they kill HRG. All bets are off.

I don't see them pulling that AT all. In fact more qoutes from actors and characters saying Claire's future is in the hands of the Company. Kristen Bell whose character clearly works for the Company said it straight from her mouth. ''I play a part in Claire's future."

That makes sense. Like to make up for disowning Claire like ****, he makes it up to her by saving her dad. I like that idea.

The dude said something along of the lines of "You're an average actress and all, but your character sucks."

Thats horrible, some people just have absolutely no tact or class. Whoever said that there mother didn't teach them any manners. I almost want her not to leave just to spite whoever said that now.

Yeah, instead of saying she's an average actress, he should say how hot she is and then tell her how much her character sucks. That's the fanboy way. :o

As a side note, I really think Peter needs to die. He's too powerful for his own good. I love the character, but they're risking him.

Well, it's not quite to that point yet. He still lacks the control and discipline to truly master it, so it still means he can be developed more. When he fully has control of his powers, that's when it's time to worry because there's a very good chance they could run out of ideas to explain him not just pwning any of the bad guys and stopping whatever problem arises with a flick of his wrists. That takes away the drama, and then they would likely kill him off.

I agree, it could be a turning point...but is Claire really a good character without HRG?

As for Peter, yeah...I tend to agree. But then again, he is the main protagonist.

heh, well he got booed for it. I think he also had it up on his blog or something and took it down after taking heat for it. he was a *****e.

I knew I knew Adam is coming for Hiro:wow:

must be pretty hard to hold an accent after hundreds of years:o

Holy ****.

I Knew It!

I dunno if anyone called it but I said it Adam and old Kensei.

Holy ****.... old kensi is adam?! i would have hated to have lived that long :woot:

He is the one who brought the 1st Generation Heroes together and put all those thoughts of saving the world into their heads. They locked him up since he was getting power hungry.

i dont know why anyone (not saying you guys) didnt realize the MINUTE they showed Kensei's emblem when Hiro met him that he was the one. He even uses the symbol to this day.

True.

West still works for the Company if you ask me. West will not save HRG. I'm thinking with the qoutes from actors. That we just might see HRG dead.

Or he has been intentionally hinting it because he knew it was going to be a major cliff hanger.

Again though, it is time for Heroes to **** or get off the pot. Does it want to be NBC's 24 where it is constantly unpredictable and changing. Or does it want to be the new ER? Scared to take a single risk?

Claire would be fine without HRG IMO. HRG was originally not even going to be a recurring character anyway. Claire needs sort of a wakeup call anyway. That she lost her father becasue of some devotion to some flying pretty boy.

they're gonna choose the second one. :o

It would be interesting. I just don't see myself being interested without HRG.

Its very possible that west works for the company because it seems like Bob may know where they are since he's sending Suresh to get claire so that would probably mean that West would be keeping an eye on them for Bob.

One thing that strikes me as odd is how West remembers the kidnapping so vividly. Wouldn't The Haitian have gotten to his memory. Also, HRG is a pretty crafty guy. Why would he move his family to a town a where he had already done his handy work?

Then again, if West is working for The Company, wouldn't he know about Noah and Claire, and then not be shocked when he saw him at the house?
