Some will say that doesn't count because of deleted scenes. But what's released is released.

the level of violence is very much different.

Friend of mine here in town (Tulsa, OK) reports that the midnight showing at the Cinemark 20 is sold out and the line is HUGE.

When [BLACKOUT]Superman killed Zod[/BLACKOUT] some people were shocked since there was some gasps. But at the end everyone was applauding. Also I had a huge grin on my face when they [BLACKOUT]introduced Clark with his glasses[/BLACKOUT] at the end, did anyone elses also?

I was like...what?

There was applause in my screening for that. Not thunderous, but surely more than just a few. I was a little taken aback.

Good crowd overall though. Really into the action sequences.

way Lois rushed down afterward and Superman held her like a child holding their mother after something terrible happens. That moment between them sealed it for me on the Lois/Clark relationship. You hear them both breathing so earnestly, it felt very honest or real somehow.

Full crowd at the walmart showing. ALL APPLAUSE at the end of the showing! Everyone was pleased and a guy yelled out "This is Superman! Oh and Superman Returns now officially sucks" *ouch* ! lol. I don't agree that SR was completely bad, but ya MOS is leagues above it for the diehard Superman enthusiasts for sure.

Got to the 7pm showing 45 mins early and got good seats, it filled up quick after that. Big applause at the end of the film.

Yeah been seeing on twitter a lot of praise for MOS and, people telling their friends to see it. So WOM should be very good.

Hopefully a big opening weekend will be followed by an A or A- cinema score, which usually means good WOM..

I went to the 7PM screening. Show was full. When we got out, plenty of people were queued up for midnight. Talked to a theater employee who said they've sold out the same amount of screens as they did last year for TDKR for the midnight.

The very end, had nearly everyone in the theater on their feet and clapping so ****ing loud lol, people cheering and clapping, the only movies I've seen do that was for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight....now Man Of Steel

Just watched it in Toronto, and it was awesome!

The theatre was packed for the midnight show!

And there were loud cheers and applause at the end!

Heck yeah, me too. Man of Steel deserved every bit of applause.
Great Superman movie, so much fun for me in the action, and I usually prefer cerebral plots. BUT this was a different Superman than we usually get on film. The comics brought to life despite the changes here or there.
A lot of spirit and heart.

Just looking at Fandango, I could see here in my area (Los Angeles, CA) that just 5/20 midnight screenings were sold out.

Just to hear that general people are being so positive about Superman, makes me as a Superman fan happy.

We had a few people dressed in capes. On guy screamed "Yeah" after an action sequence . That opened the door to lots of cheering. A few girls cheered after Superman said something to Zod about messing with his mother. A huge round of applause at the end of the film. Some sniffles during certain scenes. People were shocked at the Tornado scene and seemed to enjoy the "snap". I agree with CrimsonDeath , Superman showed the appropriate response.
