There is a Starbucks in the theater that I go to....

Still... don't you feel the need to go to the restroom? Coffee has caffeine in it which makes you want to go more. Beer isn't too good for your bladder either. If I'm paying for a movie, I don't want to miss some of it because of a bathroom break.

Happened to me the first time I watch TASM2, missed out on almost the Times Square fight scene. I dont drink fluids ever since that. Just my popcorn and some jelly worms.:hubba

I've only gone to the toilet once before during King Kong, even having taken precautions, because that was such a long movie.

I also find it's not good to go to the movies on a full stomach. You should make sure to take a dump before hand as that seems to have an effect on your bladder and makes you want to go pee.

Of course, if one went to the restroom during FFINO and found they were constipated for the whole 90 mins (which the movie will probably be), they aren't going to miss much. It's a choice between the turd in the toilet or the turd on the big screen.

Didn't see that in theatres, only on DVD. Long ass film, fell asleep half way through it.

I always go in with an empty stomach. I buy so much food it's down right unbelievable how I finish it.:funny:

You won the internet today.:up::lmao:

I regret paying to see that. Shoulda waited for TV

Awesome movie

I didn't see Captain America, Thor or Avengers or Green Lantern or any of the Dark Knight ones I theatres. Saw them all on DVD. I really like those first two and the latter Batman ones.

You're right that Tickets cost a bomb now plus the need to buy foods and drink for the longer movies.

Next year the only movies I'm likely to go see are Jurassic World, Fantastic Four (if I like the trailers) and Star Wars

This sounds like you are a big F4 fan(or just a fan Fox CBMs), which is curious, but how can you that have that above AoU? Is it a Quicksilver thing? Are you some kind of Fox loyalist?(*I understand you said if)

Finally, your handle is great. For message boarding/arguing on the internet, it gives a conversational advantage. However, the given reference suggests that you are a fan of the Whedon version(or the extension of) Scott Summers. If you are a reader, how can you ignore Fox's Greatest Sin in regards to the X-films? The lack of narrative focus on the most interesting mutant of the last 15 years(or more) is astounding. With no plans of making the lead character the actual lead as Tatum,McAvoy,JLaw,(8/31/14-never forget) and Fassbender take over the franchise. The fact that Gambit is getting better development and Scott is likely to be a portrayed as a teenager for multiple films going forward is betraying the IP that these films are drawing from.

I understand several avenues Fox is trying to take with these X-films, even though I disagree with them. However, it seems as if the studio is almost taking a contrarian approach to their Marvel IPs. The approach seems to be "don't make it look/feel like it's Marvel", which is admirable in a way. It's not whether the Torch is black, it's the overall casting choices and what the alleged take is. It's the pretentiousness Singer is trying to beat the audience over the head with gay/civil rights issues. It's the fear of risk in making a Deadpool movie. It's the overcrowding of the X films with popular characters (i.e. Bishop, Colossus) who have no arc or development along with others who become background mutant fodder. It's the one line write off of most of the First Class story. It's the constant exposition.

If I had to guess MBJ is going to be a lot like his character in Chronicle, the "kid hero" who is immature but arguably the most heroic. Based on what I've heard, I disagree with his take on Sue Storm (a girl who feels invisible, so much so that he kicks her off set) especially the given age/time period of this F4, when it would be Reed courting Sue, not ignoring her. If she feels invisible because of her adopted father, that's a tired trope as well and certainly not one that would make a whole lot of sense. The casting decision of her father is clearly a smug reaction to the fan reaction of Johnny's casting and the list goes on and on and on.

It is one thing to give a "fresh new take" (not that this IP needs it) on a identifiable hero or group of heroes. It's whole other thing to turn left when you should turn right. So again, I ask you, how is this movie one of your most anticipated tentpole/franchise films of 2015, especially over AoU, by all means a better developed film?

This movie under Trank's direction is doing the very thing that the "Imaginauts" story by Mark Waid and Mike Weiringo deliberately avoided, where the marketing department of the FF comic were trying to find a new angle to make the FF more relevant and hip to today's audiences. So they sent a news hound out to spend a week with the team and see what made them tick.

When he reported back, the journalist said that the problem with the comic isn't that it needs a completely new injection but that audiences haven't seen the true Fantastic Four for years. Trying to make it hip and trendy by changing too much would be contrary to the spirit of the FF and wouldn't solve the problems.

It's an interesting read, and seems as if Trank and Fox have fallen precisely into this trap and done exactly what these fictional comic creators in the story were planning to do.

I never had a problem with The Human Tourch being Black but always had a problem with Sue Storm being white. Now I get the so called view of a post racial society but I've in my ** years of being alive have witnessed a live example of a African- American family adopting a white girl. Though it's idealistic is not really based on reality i live in.. I'm not trying to be negative but I don't see it. Someone please correct me if it's more common then I see it..

And yes I'm probably over thinkinking it but I can assure you that I won't anywhere near the only one when the GA really catches on to this.

I really think it was such a Cop out on Trank/Fox casting a Caucasian Sue

I dont think I was going off on CWR, or at least not my intention. More on the Fox take on Marvel IPs in general. He has own opinion and it's actually one I enjoy reading, despite the fact I usually find myself on the other side of it. The declarative statement of "most anticipated" is one I'd like him to expand upon. From my point of view, I find it highly unlikely that someone who is posting on the Hype is looking forward to a rebooted, reimagined F4 movie with little info out about the film (and some of it seems to reflect poorly on the work) compared to a tighter structured sequel with plenty of plot threads coming together from Phase 2 in addition to seeing an even more elements of the source material coming into play(Avengers Tower, a true established team,an iconic villain, etc.)

His answer could simply be "I never really cared for the Avengers IP, didn't liked the first one, or prefers F4/Trank/Fox's style more" and those are perfectly acceptable. Just looking for more dialogue on the issue, by no means a personal attack on someone I don't know.

I was more referring to the older adopted child suddenly being ignored for the true son (although I guess Thor might work) but yeah that makes sense too. I never seen a black family adopting a white child, though of course it's plausible. I do stand by the idea casting was an intentional "middle finger" to the fan backlash of Johnny Storm (the first one cast).

Well he didn't like the first film (compared it to Tim Story's first FF film), so no doubt he's not looking forward to AOU. I understand that. Not everyone is hyped up by AOU even if it's one of the most anticipated movies coming out next year. But you kinda did go off at him, he's very well entitled to his own opinion. After all, what fun would it be here on teh hype if people didn't disagree (as long as it doesn't turn ugly). It's what makes this a fun place, seeing all different opinions, speculations and discussion.:oldrazz:

I do agree when you said..

Knowing Kinberg, you're probably right. I really hope that's not the case. As long as we don't get the whole 'you're not my real father/mother/brother' nonsense, I could learn to live it but I fear that we might go there. We'll see.

I am also anticipating this project more than AOU. Marvel has a formula I've seen 10xs now so I look forward to them as much a Pixar flick.

It's not common, but it does happen. Apparently, it's usually a case of black foster parents adopting white children who have been placed with them, but I imagine race isn't a deciding factor when people choose godparents for their kids.

I don't remember it being a big deal in Kick-Ass 2.

I don't remember it being a big deal in Kick-Ass 2.

I haven't seen KickAss2...so don't know the exact reference being made.....but if it's what I think it is (from the last several posts conversation)....the reason I see it not being a big deal in KA2 is because the characters in it haven't had a 50+ year history among it's fans. You can do anything to the characters in the KickAss universe and not bother me, because I have no history with them. I have on the other hand read the Fantastic Four comics since the early 1960's. I have grown up with the characters.

That makes sense, but the comment I was replying to was about the general audience being able to accept a black parent adopting a white child.

You know you'd figure someone involved with this movie would come out and say "this is the fantastic 4 everyone has been waiting for" because when things get rebooted they try to give the GA and fans confidence with the movie. But theres been not a word. I might feel better about this reboot if someone at fox was trying to get us interested In it.

Even with tmnt far off from its release we had eastman saying it was something long time fans would love, and the characters are perfect blah blah blah so on and so forth.

Nope, I'm a teacher....I can take it. :cwink:

I am totally flummoxed at the lack of ANYTHING from this film...we have literally seen nothing except the two leaked photos. It's just crazy...

Which is why I believe they have totally crossed the "Marvel, F4, etc. fanboys" off of their list as people to push advertising for this movie....I think they are going for a total GA advertising plan, which can wait until a few months before the movie. I do not think they care a bit about the fans of the comics....and it is becoming more and more clear to me that that is a point that they might even be pushing.

I really think you're right. When they first announced this reboot years ago, I was fine with it. I still hoped the rights would expire, but I was happy they were doing a reboot because first class and planet of the apes were both good movies and I was expecting fox to step things up from that point on.
I figured since it was a reboot they'd try and get things closer to the comics concerning doom, and we'd get a cool cgi thing, and maybe even a real galactus. But they've totally let me down so far concerning the cast, director, and designs of what we've seen so far.

Maybe they have no choice but to go down this route considering they don't have much of a product. They'll just put the token title over it but try to make it as different to the source as they can within the absolute limits. They want to keep the rights, but I bet in a way they feel shackled by the name too.

The character that adopts Mindy was created specifically for the movie & added later to the comics. At least that is not a change just so that a certain actor can get a role. So no one can compare this adoption just so a friend of the director can get a main role to the Kick Ass adoption if you ask me

They're not shackled. They're resoulute that there will be not another Marvel IP that will revert that they own for free. So they will spend as little money (Including marketing) to put this film out just because to make this the lowest grossing Marvel movie in 10 years. And they know Marvel is helpless as the FF is concerned. So for all that are waiting for the Movie trailer that'll change the tide of sentiment, get your excuses ready because thats all you'll have. Any other film worth anything leaks set photos and story details all the time. But Fox keeps pulling them..

And marketing straight to the GA?? What like DOFP??? That movie had the hottest of the hottest hollywood star power. They could've pulled those numbers on a film based on shakespher Macbeth.. Please, anyone give up the DOFP and FF comparisons up. Thats like comparing a Battleship to a Canoe when comparing how each one will fare in the choppy waters...

This movie won't even make Battleship numbers.

Crazy thing is I think FBINO will flock to go and see this crap which will encourage more FFINO to be made. Darned if you do, darned if you don't. :csad:

I think Michael B. Jordan is right.

Now that's really smart marketing strategy, getting your film's promotion buried under an avalanche of Jurassic World and Inside Out ads.
