The greatest thing about this potential retcon is that it [BLACKOUT]nullifies the special edition change from 2004 which replaced Boba Fett's original, awesomely menacing voice to Temeura Morrison's bland delivery.[/BLACKOUT]

The entire time I was reading that I was thinking "At last, he will reveal himself. At last, Jeremy Bulloch will have his revenge."

One can only hope.

Not gonna bull**** anyone, I like this idea a lot. Although I did like Jango I've never been a fan of Boba as a mere clone.

Yea I like it, too. The thing is, prequel Boba is just a kid. I didn't follow any EU stuff regarding kiddie Boba becoming OT Boba, but this is a pretty seamless ret-con. It won't conflict with anything in the OT.

Boba Fett worked best when you barely knew anything about him and in a small role. There was this Boba Fett mystique. I never actually needed anymore than that.

I was kind of hoping they weren't going to try to fix anything.

does it matter...since we saw him die in ROTJ

What. The. F**k.

Strap in, a lot of you aren’t going to like this.
To counter-act the prequels, the Boba Fett spin-off movie planned for 2018 has an interesting twist pitched by Episode VII writer Lawrence Kasdan: the spin-off will start with a complete stranger killing Boba Fett and taking his armor, starting a Man-With-No-Name bounty hunter tale. So: someone kills the Boba Fett from the prequels and takes his armor and name. One this is for certain is that Kasdan didn’t like the prequel and wants no Bobba Fett Clone in the spin-off film.
Sounds a lot like a Western and it sounds like it could restore a fan-favorite character that was totally a little boy with thousands of versions of his father running around. Or it could just be a lot of stupid rib-elbowing about this stranger doomed to fall into a Sarlaac pit in the most anti-climatic franchise exit ever.
Lastly I was told by 3 sources, reps etc, etc…(so call who ever you want) that Captain American director Joe Johnston is on top of the list to direct the spin-off, which makes sort of sense since he began his career as a concept artist and effects technician on the first Star Wars film. REMEMBER NOW before you all go and say he’s directing the project, I never said he has the job, just that he’s on top of the list, lets get that perfectly clear.

If that is true, I'm done with all of this.

Ret-Con huh? Weird is an understatement.

Are you ****ing serious? It's a good thing we don't have any judgmental fanboys running around. Unbelievable.

I'm starting to regret checking this thread every day if this is the kind of crap that vomits forth from it.

Sorry if I offended you or something, but Fisher has had to deal with many issues. It's a fact. Are you related to Carrie Fisher or something? Based on your reaction.....it seems like you are. My goodness......

We can never know the true menace of an antagonist until we see them as a little kid. :oldrazz:

I was kind of hoping they weren't going to try to fix anything.

This is a good fix. It's actually a brilliant idea, imo. The more I think about it the more I want it to be true.

I was just hoping they'd leave the prequels alone...don't acknowledge them but don't try to 'fix' them.

You saw him experiencing a slight delay in his schedule. Nothing more.

It's a fact that only a sad, immature and/or extremely hateful person would single out a 50+ year old actress for being overweight and having mental health problems. MY GOODNESS.

I hear ya. Sounds like a Lucas type of maneuver. Or just Disney trying to reintroduce certain characters to a new generation to sell and try and make more money. Ugh

Man are Star Wars trolls always this easy to spot? It's not even a challenge any more.

People who question the direction of these this new SW film(s) are "trolls"?

You want to see a troll....go on over to the Superman/Batman threads. This guy said Ben Affleck broke his leg in a skiing accident and production on Superman/Batman film has been delayed?

:oldrazz:

Well technically we never saw OT Bobba's face, and who gives a crap about PT Bobba. Actually, this is a brilliant idea. It returns Bobba to the mysterious badass that everyone knows and loves without contradicting either the PT or OT.

Holy s***, that sounds f***ing horrible. Jango Fett & the clones were one of the few good things about the prequels, if they take that away from Boba I will be pissed.

Infact, his father & his "brothers" are the best proof (in the movies) of how badass Boba can be. Take that away & he's just a dude in cool armor.

Jango and the clones were pretty awesome, I just never liked tying Boba to them. This way you can keep all the cool Clone Wars stuff while preserving the original Boba for the previous generation of fans that grew up liking him the way he was initially presented (ie cool and mysterious, instead of James Howlett Wolverine)

It's win-win. Unless you're greedy, in which case we have to have a knife fight in a Sarlaac belly. And frankly that's no fun for anyone except the Sarlaac.

I'm glad the trilogy will focus on the Skywalker bloodline rather than the Solo one. I'm a little iffy on Luke, Han and Leia supposedly being the leads of Episode VII but this is definitely the right way to go. Arndt's script was probably great but it would have been disappointing if the Solo kids were the leads

I'd be disappointed if Arndt's script was scrapped because Abrams wanted to go in a more nostalgic, dudebro, patriarchal direction.

I can't be the only one that kind of likes the idea of someone killing Boba and taking that outfit and assuming that title.

It's weird because I kind of love the idea yet kind of hate it because I enjoyed the whole Jango/Boba Fett sub plot in the prequels.

I kinda like the 'stranger' taking over the mantle. And that way they can add back Boba's orginal ominous voice to 'Empire'.

And let's have Karl Urban play him. helmet on the entire time.

Random: I just noticed Rachel Hurd-Wood quoted from Carrie Fisher's book, Shockaholic, late last month on twitter. Maybe she's been reading it.
